Unfortunately in Long Beach aside from small deli s & bodegas this is the only large scale supermarket. There are 2 smaller scale markets, Key Food which I prefer, one in the West End & one in the East End, each are privately owned. I frequent the West End store. There is not as much variety however I find their prices competitive & the deli has everything you could find at Stop & Shop and I often find that their prices are lower. Since there is little competition Stop and Shop has the locals who cant drive no other choice but to do their grocery shopping with them. However they do have everything you need to shop for & other services including a Starbucks & pharmacy. It is a large scale supermarket and I often find that I wind up with a lot of items that were impulse purchases.

I dont understand the Deli department. Stop and Shop sells there own brand of pickles. They sell mini dill chip pickles and they sell Horseradish dill dill chip pickles. The long Beach Store cant keep enough of this product on the shelves. For the last couple of weeks there havent been any of Stop and Shops products on the shelves. Who ever is running that department needs to know what the phrase "Supply and Demands actually means. When the store does have the product it sells out quickly. This pickles are some of the best tasting pickles you sell. Maybe its time for some to talk to who ever runs this department and have them stay on top of the products that sell.

I went the day before Christmas Eve, so you can imagine that the place would be low on stock and messy, but it was very clean. I asked a gentleman who works there if he could help me. There was a few items that I had been unable to locate. He was the nicest guy, and went all over the store, and even checking a delivery that had just come in to help me find everything I needed. GREAT experience in my opinion, will def be shopping there more often!

Always a delightful experience; sales all over the store and friendly Employees willing to help. A Free for Children under 10 years fresh fruit basket. Samples of fresh cut Pineapple, Watermelon & Cantaloupe every day for everyone. Im at Stop & Shop every day~~ always enjoyable.

Their r flies in bread case, I slipped on wet floor in produce, confusion with layout, the manager ignores advice, only one line open u have to do self checkout n that is annoying if item is to light its stops checkout n u need help, parking lot is dirty......

Store is dirty. A lot of the staff here is extremely rude and couldnt pass a customer service course if their life depended on it. People hanging out outside of the store accosting customers. King Kullen is a close by alternative.

I only give 4 stars bc i hate king kullen n stop n shop is the closest place to shop for food. They hav most stuff but its always crowded like all the food is gonna run out. n the self checkout gives me rage.

The only reason that I sop at Stop & Shop is because of the staff they are great. The produce dept is terrible you cant find a good onion in the store the Deli dept salads are minimal looks terrible

Really crowded on beach weather summer weekend days but perfect place to stop and grab a sandwich/snacks to go before you head down to the beach. Expect long lines at the register!

This store looks dismall. Old floors, dingy paint. Produce department is terrible & the workers dont always know what aisles products are in. Its ok for a local store tho.
