Living in the neighborhood I passed by this store many times with my eyes widening at the beautiful custom made jewelry. So when I had a pair of 14K gold earrings & a 14K gold and coral beaded ankle braclet in need of repair, I thought they would handle them with kid gloves. I dropped them off Wed Aug 4th explaining what needed to be repaired to a young lady named Irene. She seemed to be clear and gave me my ticket and said it would take about a week and took my # and would call me. Great! A week went by with out a call so I called Mon Aug 16th I got a gentelman named Jared who said, Oh you have the earrings that needed to be changed to clip." I said no my repair is that the earrings are dented and they need to be smoothed out and the ankle bracelet is kinked and needs to be unkinked, I explined this to Irene before when I dropped them off. He then asked for both my phone and ticket # and name and said that he will have them ready by Wed. Aug 18th. Irene called me Wed Aug 18 to say that we are working on your ring. Oh now this is really gone on too far. I realized that if they keep my jewelry any longer it will get a repair they dont need or they will eventuly get lost. Her excuse for messing up the ticket was that she didnt have the information in front of here when she called. Then why did she call me? I finally advised her to, "DO NOT REPAIR MY JEWELRY, I .WANT IT BACK IMMEDIATELY" Well I was in the neighborhood Wed Aug 19 as I am getting fed up about now and this was around 11:30am and the stores door was locked. There was a chalkbord outside with an adversiment of "Back To School Sale" on it and the lights were on and the hours of operation were from 11am-7pm so it was within business hours. I decided to call the jewelry store too! No answer. So now Im really worried, my jewelry is in there and I cannot get to it and every time I call the store they dont even know my ticket# and what needs to be done. At least they could have written a note to say gone to lunch, be back in a few. So now its Thurs. Aug 20th and I walked into the store asking for my jewelry back. They couldnt find it. They said it was at the "studio" They said it will be ready from repairing it on Sat. I said it doesnt need repair, I just want it back. Then I get a call from Jared on Friday that my jewelry is ready. Guess what, I pick it up on Sat Aug 21st and notice that there are more kinks in the ankle bracelet then when I dropped it off. Im just going to go to the diamond district in Manhattan to get them fixed. I hope everyone reads this before purchasing anything from Facets. They do have beautiful jewelry, but its the people who make the shopping experience from point of purchase to repairs, to even trade ins or selling your heirloom jewelry.

*Dont go here for custom work* I was really unhappy with the customer service at Facets. I wandered in and found a necklace that I loved, but wanted to make a couple of changes (change the stone and add another). Irene and I talked about the changes and she helped me design the setting of the new stone. She said that shed speak to the jeweler about what we planned and call me before anything got underway. She also said that once started, it should take about two weeks to finish. I paid and left happy. Just over a month later I finally got a call saying that it was finished and could pick it up. I got there and saw that the stones and settings looked right, but that the chain size, chain color, and clasp were all different than the original necklace that I had fallen in love with. I was shocked that they didnt call me for so long, and then disappointed to find that they didnt really take my $400+ order seriously. Left it with them again to change some things. A week later went back to find that they only did 1/3 of the changes- the sales clerk hadnt written anything down for the jeweler. Tried one final time to get changes made. Was told 2 days at most to finish. Came back to see if it was finished a WEEK later and the man insisted that if I didnt get a call, it wasnt ready. They ALWAYS call first. I asked him to please look in the box. He found it and it was finished (meaning that this time they did 2/3 of the requested changes), but he refused to believe that I hadnt been called. He first suggested that my phones voicemail was probably out, and then suggested that maybe I have trouble figuring out my own voicemail system. He absolutely refused to believe that there could be any error on their part. I was so angry. I will never go back here again, nor can I recommend it. My necklace is fine, I can live with it. But I wish I could forget this experience each time I put it on.

I was a bridesmaid and my husband a groomsmen for a wedding that was taking place in New Hampshire. Our friends ordered rings from Facets about 6 months before their wedding-- there were a few custom things that were being done, but everyone there assured them that the rings would be ready well in advance of the wedding. Two weeks before the wedding, when the groom went to pick the rings up, he was told that they werent ready yet and told that he should come back in a week. He called a week later to confirm that they would be ready and arrange pick-up and was sent home empty-handed again, with no explanation or prior warning. Eventually he and his fiance had to leave for Vermont to go to the wedding WITHOUT THEIR WEDDING RINGS!!! My husband and I volunteered to camp out at Facets and get them before the ceremony. We went there repeatedly and called repeatedly-- never got a satisfactory answer about what was going on-- and were told that the rings were not on site but at a workshop somewhere in Queens (? I think). When we finally got the rings Facets was about to close and it was about an hour before the rehearsal dinner was supposed to start and we still had to drive to New Hampshire. So our friends had their rings for their wedding and they were happy with the way they turned out but the anxiety of dealing with them and their complete lack of regard for my friends and their wedding made me so furious that I would never EVER EVER go there, despite the fact that everything in the store is beautiful. If they had at least given us some sort of explanation or seemed apologetic, I might feel differently. But they were nonchalant and rude. There are way better jewelers in Park Slope. Patronize everyone else.

This is the place to go in Park Slope for watches and a beautifully curated selection of high-end, handmade and designed jewelry. What the owner, Lenny, does not know about good watches, inside and out, is not worth knowing. He has, apparently, been learning about and collecting watches since he was very young, and his advice on what to buy (and, perhaps even more importantly, what not to buy) is unerring, particularly if you don’t know the first thing about watches, as was the case with me when I went in. The service is friendly and personal--it is just Lenny and his lovely wife--and there is no pressure or hard sell here; they let you take all the time you need to make a decision. Highly recommended for anyone looking for just the right watch, ring, or jewelry item, whether for oneself or as a gift, whether as an investment or just for the pleasure of owning and wearing something beautiful and of high quality. (It’s hard to recommend browsing, as you are likely to see something you can’t live without!) Simply put, this is the only place I would go now if I am in the market for a good watch. And should I be lucky enough to be in the market for a diamond, I expect I would entrust my purchase to Lenny at Facets with just as much confidence.
