I went in a two weeks ago looking to do an early upgrade from my Iphone 3 to the new Iphone 4. I was told by the salesman that for a $18 dollar fee I can do an early exception upgrade and the Iphone 4 would be $299, but he would not have the phone in until the following Tuesday. I left to go to a different AT&T store, Best Buy, and Apple. They all said even with the exception upgrade the phone would cost $399. I returned back to this store and questioned the salesman to make sure the price was $299 and he said yes..the reason they can do this is because of their exceptional customer service and AT&T gives them a discount on their products. So I paid for the Iphone at $299 and said that I would pick it up Wed. Wed. comes along and I get a call from the owner of the store saying he is no longer able to sell me the phone for $299. The phone is now $399 because Apple just raised the price $100. I told the owner that I already paid the entire amount of the phone up front on Sunday and am not paying the extra $100 because I bought the phone prior to the "price increase" from Apple. He refused to sell me the phone and even tried to sell me a different phone. I called AT&T corporate and they were unable to do anything since this was a franchise store. I would never recommend anyone to go to that store.
