Im trying to rate this three stars. For some reason, five is displaying. We used to eat here at least twice a month. People are friendly, desserts are interesting, food arrives hot, interesting grocery store inside etc. But we havent gone in maybe, six months now. The reason is, we order pretty much the same thing every time, a vegetarian sandwich (each). Its grilled, its great, the problem is, they got very chintzy on the ingredients. I mean, hardly anything in it. We thought it was a one time fluke so we went back, it happened again. After the third time, well, we havent gone back. I would LOVE to go back but Im looking for value. Its not fair that we should have to pay the same price for a vegetarian sandwich that a meat eater pays for theirs when meat is so much more expensive. If you need to cut costs, raise the prices of your meat sandwiches but good grief, why would you punish your vegetarian customers (who have few places to eat in this town and this was one of them!) by skimping on the ingredients in the vegetarian sandwiches when it is our patronage that subsidizes lower prices for others? Otherwise, I would have given this a five star review. Its not fancy but its clean with interesting good food, served hot and with a cool grocery store with lots of imported foods to browse through. Also, they dont have beer or wine if that matters to you. The outdoor patio is nice, people bring their dogs sometimes. Theres free internet access so students and young people are around and also interesting to watch.

The food and sevice are good. The management less so...and the coffee stinks. Each shot of expresso costs $2.50 each, no matter how many you buy. And whatever they use is awful. My favorite is 2 double shots...$3.00 at Starbucks. Not long ago I went by and brought my cup...just for straight up coffee. The young man behind the counter was more than happy to fill it. I paid and went outside... They do have a very nice outdoor area. (The coffee only so so). The manager, a tall elderly gentleman came by and asked what I was doing there. The thinly veiled implication was that I was there mooching a table. I explained it was my cup and their coffee. He mumbled something and wondered off. The next night I returned cup in hand. This time the same manager was behind the counter and refused to fill my cup because of the health code. I went ahead and paid for the coffee...and I guess the attitude was free. Funny thing...you can bring a cup to Starbucks and theyre fine with it. But, not International Delights. Do they have a different health code??? As I said their food is excellent...good service and nice surroundings. But, that incident left a bad taste in my mouth...like the coffee. It could have handled better and I will relay this freely to anyone who is interested in a good meal in Las Cruces. I will for sure NOT recommend it to someone who likes good coffee at a reasonable price.

The hummus was great, the lamb kebab tasted decent but meat quality poor- very fatty. The Greek salad was great until I found a large dead fly swimming in the dressing nestled amongst the salad greens. I brought it to the attention of who I presume to be the owner. He accused me of planting the fly in the food intentionally, and asked me what I wanted from him. I told him I didnt want anything, just that I found a fly and no longer wanted the rest of the salad. He was insistent it wasnt possible for a fly to end up in the salad because of how they wash the greens multiple times. I dont appreciate it being implied I am a liar or trying to gain something. We had already paid, so we just left. I also found two other smaller bugs in my salad greens, which happens when you have salads sometimes, but the big horse fly is where I draw the line. The restaurants handling of the situation was very unprofessional!

I really like the food. I really like the dog friendly patio. I go there often. I really like some of the staff, because some of them are super friendly or friendly enough. But significant percent of the staff are sullen and sulky people who never smile or look at me when I order. Is that too much to ask for someone in a food service position? You can get multiple service people helping you and they use a tip jar, so what do you do? I am a very generous tipper, but when I get one helpful person and one sullen person, I dont want to rob the former to punish the latter, but I also dont want to reward unfriendly people with my money. I really do like the setting and the food; I hope they do something to hire uniformly friendly staff because Id like to keep going there regularly.

Food was good but service was terrible. There were only a few customers and they made mistakes on our order and two other tables. Then when I asked them to bring the falafel I was charged for they told me I didnt order it. I ordered a plate that came with pita bread and I did not get the pita until everyone at my table was almost done eating. I was ignored and finally after calling it to their attention 3 times It was finally corrected though they tried to double charge me. This is very sad because I really like this place but after this terrible experience I will not return and can not recommend.

Dropping my rating to two stars today. Latley the tables restrooms and floors always seem to be dirty. The owner (or manager) doesnt seem to care. However the food is still really good and some of the staff are still helpful and friendly. This is a great place food always delicious... however my last visit it took 30min to get a simple meal, that I always order, and today they moved me from the place I chose to sit then put a reserved sign on the table. To top it off I got a Glass of tea with lipstick all over the rim... owner seems not to care either today.

I usually dont write a review (good or bad) unless I go and try things out a few times. The food is good here but the service sucks big time. The person at the counter (no matter who it is) will not give you a straight answer if you have any questions on the menu. My recent experience from yesterday, our food took a long time to get to the table and was missing some stuff on the list. So we go ask for it and we get it after a while but no apologies from them!! Also, did I mention the price is lot more for what you get on your plate.

Update: make sure you inspect your breads, fruit and any food served here. I have been served moldy food for both bread and fruit on different occasions. When I told the manager about the problem they took the moldy food away and did nothing to try to rectify the situation, just a "Im sorry". Older post: I have had troubles with consistency in the food such as olives and grapes. Some time there were seedless and others not. Nether time there was forewarning and i bit into seeds. Not pleasant but the food was tasty otherwise.
