Ive resisted leaving a negative review for awhile, but this truly is the worst coffee shop Ive been to. Ever. And Ive hung in there for awhile, returning, but cannot any longer. This is the SLOWEST cofee joint in Flag (and half the time--as other reviewers have commented--you get someone who has no clue). For example, with the mic system they use, the outdoor barista at times, has no idea that they cannot hear he rinside, and you wait a total of nearly a half hour!!! to get a burrito and coffee). Yep, this actually happened with NO other customers present.) I had to go inside to find it out. And still, I did not leave a negative review. I set it aside. But one too many suprememly long waits (and freezing) and then gross hardened eggs in the last burrito, and this customer now gives my business fully to the coffee shop Flagstaff knows as ITS OWN and has successfully been for years. First, its freezing in there. EMPLOYEES CONFIRMED (disregard the owners comment. My info came straight from several employees working one day and I confirmed it another time as well!) I was told the owners actually mandate that the employees leave the door/garage!!! open all winter, so that people know they are open. Wow! Really? So no cares for those who come in and order coffee hoping to warm up...and what comes out is a "mocha" with powdered cocoa as the chocolate portion and no whip cream-- as every coffee place in Flag has?) Hmmmmm. No good. However, the time is lengthy, parking/mobility issues are the absolute worst aspect of it all. Have you tried getting in and out of this place? You have to go way out of your way to turn around to exit and/or enter. It is beyond a hassle! Not worth it. For all this, their prices are WAY overpriced. Short cuts galore here. This is a small town, and great coffee shops THAT LAST genuinely care about their employees and customer base. Not their own wallets first. My own experience absolutely freezing in there, and seeing their employees with hands so cold they have to ask me to help them,...that is cruelty just so they can appear opened? Ever thought of a bigger sign or advertising as most businesses employ? Employees, as well as customers, should be appreciated and cherished. This is not that. Not to mention, IMAGINE all the energy they are wasting here. My advice to the owners: stay in Phoenix. Your business model will fit in way better. Update: Additionally, the owner accuses a (previous) customer --who was quite informed-- of ignorance. Either she is a down right liar or several of your quite honest seeming employees were. I do not need to meet you to know which it is. Oh, and FYI, Ms: I did speak with you on the phone and you were even more defensive there. Recall I hung up and happily took my business elsewhere? Like readers here, I value being appreciated and my spent dollars supporting caring and competent businesses.

Stopped in Flagstaff toward the end of our cross country trip and dropped in here for breakfast. The coffee is amazing, the food is absolutely delicious and the vibe is inviting, comforting, and relaxing. Jordan is a gem at the coffee counter and helped us explore their menu of drinks and food. Everything is roasted in house by the family, and the breakfasts and pastries are handcrafted there as well. This place is definitely worth a visit. Thank you for being so wonderful to us!

First time I ever went there: I had to be somewhere at 7 AM, went looking for coffee at 6:30. Starbucks was packed so I figured Id try them out. Not knowing their hours and seeing the lights on with people there, I walked in. They were so nice and pleasant and they let me know that they werent open yet, but they still offered to get me whatever I wanted. Just that one cup of drip coffee earned them a new loyal customer!

Great little coffee shop! The staff are friendly, fridays have free donuts! The drive through booth is convenient. Going inside you can see where they do their roasting. We recently move to town and think we found our coffee bean source. The quality of the roasts have been great and consistent. Only heads up I would give is getting into the place from the northbound lane on Milton is kind of a pain. But well worth it.

(Location on I89) My first experience with Matador was great! Walked into a clean lobby free of snow, puddles, and the debris which regularly accompanies the huge amount of snow we received in the last two days! I didt quite know what I wanted, so I asked Michelle what her regular drink was. My drip coffee was spectacular and Michelle is very personable! Matador Coffee Roasting Company is my new favorite coffee shop!

Ordered a white mocha, they asked if we wanted whip cream- said no... and got whip cream. Ordered a sesame bagel with cream cheese, they mentioned they only have plain or everything. I said Id take plain... and got to work to find out they gave me the everything one. Not saying I wont be back, but maybe the allure of the neighboring marijuana dispensary is too much for these idiot college kids to handle.

Disgusting, bland watery smoothie made with what tasted like rotten milk, as well as a ton of seeds that make you choke as you try to swallow it. The woman in the coffee hut wasnt the most bubbly or nicest human being on the planet either. And as she closed my drink she stuck her finger into my whipped cream and handed it to me anyway. Gross! Ill stick to wicked coffee.

This is what a coffee shop should be! Eclectic, fun, great baristas. Cappuccino was made correctly and tasted lovely with the beans which were dark but not heavy or sludgelike. Breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwiches were to die for flavorful! The only complaint is that whoever installed the toilet paper in the bathroom is an "under" person. Ugh! ;)

I would love to be able to give this place some stars, but the fact is that after standing at the counter waiting for the employee to wait on me, watching her fumble around spending 15 minutes getting one sandwich for one drive-up customer (not even making drinks), I gave up and left.

Im giving this 3 stars because when I go to a coffee shop I expect great coffee. I got a pour over and it tasted like burnt drip coffee. Not good at all, however, the food was fantastic. I had the breakfast burrito and I loved it. The service was great as well.

We walked our dogs from the Drury hotel to Matador Coffee. What a great spot, convenient location and very close to NAU. They have a friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a high quality coffee.
