First Id like to preface that this is in Leadville. Leadville is a small mountain town with good people. But that being said, if your looking for Vail, Boulder, Aspen type service and quality its just not gonna happen in a small mountain town. The coffee is good (not the best in town) but the take and go breakfast combined with the friendly staff, means I end up here more than the other coffee shop in town. Everything is made fresh everyday. Ive met the woman who does it and I promise she is tallented and there everyday. FYI breakfast sandwiches do use what I call "a baking dish of eggs". Probably just lots of scrambled eggs cooked in a pirex baking dish for volume. The eggs are good, just dont be surprised if they arent fresh fried eggs. Again this is Leadville, small mining town. But the baked goods are excellent. Brunch is probably my favorite thing here and it is now served (atleast for the the summer) on Saturday too. My favorite is the brisket eggs Benedict as that is the freshest most home sourced thing on the menu. The Cloud eggs and stuffed french toast are also solid choices any day. Depending on whos working the bloody Marys can range from outrageous to very good. Ive not spent much time in the speak easy at night. But thats more me than them. The time I have spent has been fun, well priced and good drinks. Its a speak easy so if your looking for a bright bar, this is not it. But if your looking for an eclectic crowd, neat atmosphere, and live music, this is your spot. Also this is possibly the best Abstinth bar in the mountains. Dont let crabby reviews disswade you. This is one of the best places to eat and drink in town!

The owner is a pretentious intolerable self obsessed jerk who thinks he is gods gift to making good coffee. He hangs fake pictures of himself in phony military garb with a white mug to his chest trying to act progressive but what he really needs to learn is how to accommodate his patrons and how to present his business correctly... Is it a speakeasy absinthe house desguised as a coffee shop with a champagne breakfast? The neon sign out front was the reason I came in expecting a normal breakfast experience but was unfortunately greeted with the douchiness owner Ive ever met. It was roughly noon we just got done camping and walked into his establishment. He sighed and put us in the farthest booth away he could. There was no other customers present. It was so poorly lit we couldnt even read the menu. As the owner approached us we politely asked "is there anyway you could turn the lights up at all?" He promptly said "absolutely not".... He gave us attitude the entire meal as we watched him get drunk at noon on shift which was unfortunate because the actual waitress was pleasant and humorous. I would say the food was good however the owner basically ruined the experience. As well as every beverage we ordered the bartender seemed to be on several cups of coffee or more than likely cocaine. Red eyes, short panicky conversation, sweaty, and equally pretentious. Over all just an unfortunate experience. I literally made this account to write this review.

Tried to order at the counter and was asked to take a seat at a table and a server would be right over to take our order. A while later someone came over and took out order for drinks and food. A while later someone else brought my food but not my husbands so i went inside to check on it and the young lady asked me if i was ready for my check. I told her my husband never got his food, she shrugged it off and said it would be out shortly. Meanwhile we had empty glasses and my food got cold waiting for his. Eventually his French toast came out and as he was eating it bit down on egg shells more than once, he would have sent it back but no-one came to check on us or offer refills on drinks. This was probably one of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant ever.

The waitress was rude not at first but after i complained about the falafel being frozen in the middle. Then the chicken grinder came out and it was burnt to the point it was almost completely black even in the poorly lit atmosphere when i complained that was not acceptable. she storms off back to the kitchen returns and tells me that is a properly cooked chicken. She tells us to leave i tried to ask why all the attitude the "head chef" chimes in it was perfectly cooked and almost yelling at me. Worst service and crappy food dont waste your money.

I was not worried about the food, but the reviews mentioned terrible service, and thatvworried me. But in my opinion the food and service were above average. Sunday brunch was delicious, service was amazing, baby friendly, offered to turn the lights up without us asking, the coffee is good, the bacon was crispy without having to ask. Overall the best breakfast is Leadville. Thanks La Resistance, we will be back!

Really friendly staff, cool environment and the front part is dog friendly! Id highly recommend the Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich.... especially if youre hungry! Coffee / espresso is served all day and occasionally, they serve "brinner" (breakfast for dinner). Been here twice and zero complaints. Now, a staple for when I visit. Cheers!

La Resistance is a great little shop full of surprises. There is also a restaurant in the back. They serve terrific bloody marys and delicious brunch options. Their drink menu is fantastic. Their absinthe is an absolute must to experience. They also serve wonderful hummus on a seasonal basis. Looking forward to trying more :)
