I recently had my car serviced at the Waterford NJ location. It was a nightmare from the start. Back in October of 2009, I purchased gift certificates to the Wholesale Auto Outlet off the Half Price America website meaning, I could buy $1000 worth of gift certificates for $500. I figured that it was a great deal and would save me $$$ in the long run. I called up in May to get an estimate for 4 tires, front and rear brakes, oil change, and new windshield wipers. Jim Solomon, the service dept. manager wasnt available, so I left a message. He never returned my phone call. I called back a week later, provided him with some information, and he called back the next day with two different estimates - one with one set of tires, the other with another set of tires. I opted for the estimate with the tires that were more expensive and had a better rating. He said he would call me back to let me know when the tires were ordered and he could then get me into the shop. It was at this time I mentioned that I the gift certificates, which he laughed at. I had to scan them into my computer and email them to him before he would acknowledge them. He called me back a couple of days later saying that they were more the 2 years old, but they would honor them. He then said that they could get my car into the shop, but he then told me that he had ordered the cheaper tires for me, which was wrong. He said he would rectify that and call me in the next day or two when the new tires came in. He didnt call me for another week. It was at this time that we finally scheduled an appointment to get my car in. I had to drop it off on Tuesday and it would be done on Wednesday. I dropped it off and when Wednesday evening rolled around, I expected a phone call to say that my car would be complete, however, I didnt get call. I called Jim 20 minutes before they closed and left a message. He called me back immediately saying the car wasnt finished because they had a defective tire in their possession and he wasnt going to put it on my car. When the car was finally finished, I went to pick it up with my gift certificates and they wouldnt release it to me until Jim Solomon came in on his day off. My g/f and I sat around for an additional 20 minutes. I then got my bill which was more than $100 more than his estimate and after driving it home (which was an hour away), I noticed a knocking sound coming from the front of the car that wasnt there when I dropped it off. After a month of all this nonsense, I highly suggest anyone to not patronize this establishment. Go elsewhere and do so knowing you made a sound decision. ***UPDATE*** After the knocking noise persisted, I took my car to get checked out. First place I stopped in, after hearing my story and checking out the work the Wholesale Auto Group did, he laughed and told me I would need new front rotors. I was kind of shocked, so I took it to another mechanic for a different opinion. The second mechanic heard my story, took one look at my car, and pointed out that the rear rotors hadnt even been machined as had been indicated in my invoice. He told me in not so many words that I got ripped off and I would need to replace the rotors. After completing the work, he gave me the brake pads that the Wholesale Auto Group had put on and pointed out that no brake grease, or shims had been applied to the pad, and they were the cheapest pads money could buy. The 2nd mechanic shook his head and said that it is places like the Wholesale Auto Group that give all mechanics a bad name. It cost me $411 to fix what Jim Solomon and the Wholesale Auto Group failed to do. I called up Jim to tell him about what had happened and, as any shady character would do, wouldnt acknowledge any wrong doing or any egregious oversights in his work. He didnt have any answer as to why I would have to take my car back in to the shop to get repaired. He said that I was the one that was getting ripped off by these other 2 mechanics. AVOID THE WHOLESALE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP AT ALL COSTS!!!

I bought a truck from this place 10 months ago, a week into owning it, the truck completely shut off in the middle of an intersection. was stuck there for 3 hours until they picked the truck up. they replaced the fuse for the fuel injector control module and the truck ran again. well it happened a second time, I told them there were a bunch of codes in the system ( about 10 in the computer) including fan clutch issues, fuel injector control module issues, etc. So i brought it back to jim the service manager and he said no problem, a week later i picked up my truck and for laughs i brought it back to my shop and put the Snap-On Verus scan tool on it and SIXTEEN codes came up. i have brought my truck back to them 4 times for various issues and its been 10 months now and the truck is still running and behaving like complete junk. They will not warranty any of their repairs which half of their repairs have already broken, there are bolts missing underneath my hood, my EGR is leaking exhaust gas into the cabin of my truck and it still shuts off every once and a while. They got their money and that is all they are concerned about. PS, all these great reviews this place supposedly has on yahoo and google, the sales people wrote those. Don't buy from this place, my pockets are empty and this truck is a NIGHTMARE! Update: this truck now needs ANOTHER FICM module which they replaced a couple months back.My total repair bills since ive bought the truck May 4th 2011 are up to $5,000. and half of it is stuff they supposedly fixed. Enjoy a great deal, but be warned of their horrible service department especially the manager Jim

Please, please, please do not go to this dealership and I mean that. I have never, in all my life, experienced a group of scammers like this. Their sales tactics are unbelievable, to the point where they had taken my car keys, claiming that someone needed to evaluate the trade in, and refusing to give them back, making up the story that the guy doing the trade in evaluation has them and he went on lunch. They kept me there and basically hounded me until I bought something, refused to give me a price until I was knee deep in paperwork, and then it turned out to be way more than the limit I had told him I had set for myself after I was to the point where I didnt feel like redoing it all. The salesman had repeatedly assured me that it was within my range, but it was thousands beyond and $150 a month more than I told him was my limit. I understand that I could have walked away at any point and demanded my keys, but this brief review can not begin to accurately describe the absurd lengths that these people will go to to run you around in circles until you just want to sign your name and get the hell out. After that, I discovered the truck was a complete lemon with no warranty. Ive sunk $4000+ into rewiring the electrical, replacing both front wheel hub assemblies, brakes, bearings, belts. You name it. Im at my wits end with this truck and its all stuff youd never spot just looking at it. I despise this dealership and hope that this review warns away anyone else from suffering through the same experience I did. They are out for a pay check and dont give a damn about you. Guaranteed.
