So my Yukon of like 12 or so years just ended. Very sad about that because it has never really gave me any issues and have really loved it and was the perfect work wagon. The seats have not been up in the back for like 8 years. Anyway.. we like to shop local and asked around and no one could help us find a white Sienna van with all the bells and whistles. I found one after a few weeks of looking on every online car sales website and found one at a dealership called Muller Toyota in Clinton NJ. We discussed it with a salesman several times over the week and then told him that we would be there on Monday morning at 9 am .. so we rented a car.. drove from northern Maine about 10 hours one way thru crazy traffic and Siri making us do a few U turns. Spent the night at a local hotel and the rental car drop off 1/4 mile down the road. Had it all planned out.... except it wasnt ready when we got there and Salesman Russ Swick passed the blame off on another much younger sales rookie.. He made excuses instead of owning the mistake and apologizing for it.. I forgive mistakes. So we drove it .. loved it.. wanted it. So told Russ we would go have lunch a mile down the road as it was in the garage getting ready to go. Called to see if it was done after eating at the local diner... Russ told us that another couple came right in behind us and purchased it... LIKE WTH ???!!!! who does that?! I said Dave you have got to be kidding me. He said no. I said take me over there and he said no .. I said take me over there and he said no they are probably doing us a favor. Who does this crap? Someone and some place that has ZERO integrity. Wow. So we drove 10 hours back home without a car. That was a pricey mistake. I am still shocked and renting a car and today has to be the day to find a car. Im at home all day so... I would like to purchase local but I really need a vehicle that has not had the calcium start to attack it. The renting a car is taking away from the money going towards my new used car.. Anyway.. thats my story as my Yukon was just loaded onto a flatbed and taken out of my yard before the snowfall on Sunday. I am sad about this on so many levels. Not only did I get attached to a reliable piece of metal I bought that took me and my daughters on so many happy adventures but then a miserable road trip that was suppose to be an incredible bright spot since it was now my turn to get a car that I really wanted. You know what I mean? What an embarrassment. But thats what feedback and reviews are for right? This post was triggered from watching my car go down the road for the last time.. and reminding me how and why car salesman get bad reputations..ugh.. dumb I know.. sad and disappointed on so many levels.

Came to them for the first time as me and my regular dealer have grown apart over the years. Very laid back non-aggressive sales approach. Honored the vehicle/tradein/loan price negotiated over the internet after some very mild haggling. Prepared car quickly, did not try too hard to push "add on" products. Very happy with my new Tacoma, will return eventually if they keep it up - we only buy Toyotas. UPDATE: This is where you find out who your dealer is. Within a month of the purchase, truck developed a vibration. I brought it to Muller service department, where they ACKNOWLEDGED EXISTENCE OF THE PROBLEM, replaced all brake components and sent Toyota a warranty bill for $800. Once I drove home, I realized the problem was still there. Made an appointment for the following week to continue to resolve the issue. Arrived early on Friday, waited an hour only to be told by service manager that THEY WILL NOT INVESTIGATE FURTHER and that THE PROBLEM *** DOES NOT*** EXIST, "they all drive that way" load. The manager also informed me that he drove trucks for 30 years and he knows what he is talking about. I was stunned. Long story short, with help of people on Toyota Tacoma AMATEUR enthusiasts website, I was able to resolve the problem in 5 minutes (U-Bolts were not tight on the rear axle/leaf pack). Perhaps the manager should have spent some of the 30 years learning to fix the trucks rather than just driving them. Or maybe they just didnt want to spend the time diagnosing problems, when there were so many people there waiting to overpay for tires and get the "crucial" 60K mile service. They sent me a survey, of course where they tell you to write good review on Google and Yelp if you like it and respond privately if you didnt. I responded privately and of course no one did anything. I am sure they will respond to the edit by telling me how much they want to take care of me, but thats not meant for me, its for other potential customers. So here we are - the only reason I left it 2 stars instead of one is because I would still deal with the sales team, but I wouldnt even park my truck next to the service facility.

This was, hands down, one of the worst car buying (or attempted car buying) experiences Ive ever had, and they used every dirty car salesman trick in the book. To summarize: clear cut bait and switch (tried to sell me a more expensive truck after the in-stock one I had inquired about and gotten an "e-price" on mysteriously wasnt on the lot), completely unfair trade-in offer (less than 1/2 KBB and Edmunds fair trade-in price), very high financing, and lies about "something" being wrong with my car I was looking to trade in. In addition to that, they are part of a USAA buying program and did not match the guaranteed price that they are supposedly obligated to under the program. The sales manager was completely condescending and rude, and we were told outright lies about financing, their price, the trade-in value of my car, and my cars condition. As if that wasnt enough, they also told us that the price they did offer us was only for trucks on their lot that night, and if they had to find us a truck elsewhere then the pricing would be higher. This was very much your stereotypical sleezy car buying experience. After leaving the dealership, and despite being extremely upset at the horrible experience and treatment, we decided to try a Fred Beans Toyota dealership 15 miles away. They offered almost twice the trade-in, much better financing, and a lower price on the truck. Whats more, they didnt have the exact truck I wanted on the lot, so they searched their database and found it at no additional cost. They were fair and honest, which was the exact opposite of Muller Toyota. I wouldnt recommend Muller Toyota to anyone - stay away or be prepared to be raked over the coals if you deal with them.

I feel obligated to let other customers know about my great experience purchasing an Avalon from Muller Toyota. First item to mention - I asked for an ePrice from Muller Toyota, another Toyota dealer, a Mazda dealer, and an Acura dealer. Muller was the ONLY dealer that sent an ePrice. However, the other three proceeded to email and call non-stop about "deals" they were working on. They did not honor my wish for an ePrice but they were willing to hound me after I put in my notes "I want a no haggle price". I went to Muller to look at the two Camrys I received ePrices on. While speaking with the sales rep Mike N., my husband noticed an Avalon he thought I would like. It was the car I ended up buying. What I love about the sale was that Mike spent more time trying to understand my needs (Camry vs Avalon, XLE -prem/touring ltd,SL, Hybrid) which resulted in the best car fit for me, rather than making me feel like the exchange was all about commission or getting rid of a dealership vehicle. The purchase price was exceptional - fair to both parties. Then I headed over to finance who, once again, explained the various options/add ons (extended warranty, accessories, glass plus, etc). John explained why one would or would not want to select the various options. Like Mike, I felt I was being guided on what would be best for me, rather than enduring a high pressure, exhausting sales pitch. I had some accessories installed in the car and had to pick up the car the next day. Mike came over to me to ask if I was completely satisfied with the work in spite of the fact that the dealership was extremely busy and he already had my sale.
