This review is specific to the "Tools" department in the basement of this Sears store at 1640 Route 22, Watchung, NJ. If there was an available “Negative Star” rating, this department deserves a negative rating. My wife had warned me about the bad service in this entire store but I needed to get a Snow Blade for the Craftsman lawn mower that we recently inherited with the purchase of our new house. The customer service in the Tools department is worse than terrible. The attendants/clerks are rude - extremely rude. These people lack the basic skills in customer service and I completely blame the Sears organization for not implementing appropriate training procedures to ensure that "Sears Customers" are properly serviced – like Home Depot. Also, there are no in-store methods for customers to file a complaint - which tells me that the Sears organization does not put a high priority on improving customer service. In my experience, the staffs in the Tools department possess an inherently "bad" attitude. They treat customers as if the customer owes them something - as if I should be thankful for having the opportunity to spend my money at Sears. For over 30 minutes, I was literally begging them for help. I have never seen a poorly trained staff in my entire life. I was standing there for over thirty minutes witnessing how this old (personal name omitted) customer service lady (and her young, chubby, assistant on the register) was hurling insults upon insults at another customer that was put on telephone hold. As the phone continuously circulate the customer-on-hold alarm, she continuously implore her young associate to leave the customer on hold until the customer gets tired and hang up. Several times I specifically requested to see the manager because I want to file an in-store complaint but they told me a manager is not available. So I told them that I will file my complaint online. They didnt care either...but I do! Subsequently, after 30 minutes, I decided to head out to the Home Depot nearby to get what I needed. Why didnt I think of that in the first place? Why was I begging Sears to take my money while the reps are pretty much abusing me? Oh well.... I learned my lesson now. I wound up spending over a thousand dollars ($1,245.67 to be exact) on Snow blowers and related equipment at the HD not far from this Sears. Maybe one day Sears will train their people to learn that they are not just selling Tools. If I am in the store to buy a tool, the tool has already sold itself. Instead the accompanying SERVICE is what I need to close the sale. If Sears does not have the infrastructure to address customer complaints internally, I can create an online review to alert other potential customers so they can avoid the same bad experience that I had. This is absolutely a "NO TOUCH" store. Avoid this department at all costs! I will never step into this store again - ever!

The worst experience for the auto service ....had my brakes checked and tires rotated....the cost for everything was practically $700, (not including rotation)for all four which was overly priced in my opinion. I refused to pay that amount, I knew only that the front brakes need work done. They got mad when I didnt want their services but thats why its called an evaluation you jack asses. Also later found out later that my tires were never rotated but charged me for it anyway. Went to meinkie checked the brakes for FREE and as I said only the front brakes needed work spent less than half of what SEARS said...Dont come here their rip offs and liars. Customers service sucks anyway. Their going down hill cant wait until their out of business.

Paid 12 thousand for high end Carrier Infinity unit. On second day after installation found water leaking from it in basement and noise. After this on day 6th it is simply not working at all. Calling multiple times, sending emails - they just ignoring. Today is day 14 after installation. Terrible Service. Sending emails to Kathie Romano - District production manager - no responds. Moreover, they installed 2 stage system and wired it wrong - so its only working as 1 stage. They saying you have to buy infinity thermostat for it.(tech said after installation! Sales Rep didt mention anything) And I have 3rd generation Nest thermostat, which surely works on 2 stage systems if connected correctly. Totally unprofessional.

Now we know why Sears is going out of business SCAM. DONT BUY TIRE HERE BEWARE. YOU BUY THE ROADSIDE ADDITIONAL WARRANTY. The manufacturer warranty is 90,000. You buy the additional. They still charge you full price. They dont honor it when go back they tell you they dont have the tire. Call mother sears they tell watchung has it in stock. So then they break your value stem charge $65 my stem was in prefect condition when I arrived. They sell you another tire and give 25% off. Remind you my tire as a 90, 000 warranty my car has no where near that much wear a tear. BUYER BEWARE. The tire wanted sell me $134 grand told $236! Dont let them RIP you off

I came into this Sears to ask the general manager if Im able to do a research project for school and she said that I wasnt able to because I would have to contact Sears Holding which I did on Friday which they never answered back to me as well as them saying until I have permission from them Im not allowed to film in the store I even said that I came all the way from Bergen County which is about 45 minutes from the store and she denied me access to film the store so Im very disappoint in this store and it is no loss for the area as many other options have opened up around this store

This is the biggest store I have ever seen in my life. It is at least 5 times bigger than most home depots and thats just the first floor. I takes over 5 minutes to walk from one side of the store to the other. I came here for the first time and they adjusted my girlfriends glasses to fit her better for free in under 5 seconds for free and she didnt even buy them here. This store has literally everything clothes, tools, sheds, mattresses, exercise equipment etc.. one thing they do not have here is clothes hampers. Sears of your reading this, please get me clothes hampers.

Poor service. 1 register open, slow moving, false sales pitch on credit cards. Offered 35% even if declined, even though she was told it would decline and screw up my credit. Once it declined, she said no discount plus would not honor a coupon which met criteria. Manager just rolled her eyes and said give $5 off. We left without purchase of $120 worth of items. Never going back. Hopefully Indra will not be there much longer to disappoint and destroy customer credit.

I cant agree more..thats why they are all closing...or switching tjere name to sears essential...ots essential that they sell the merchandise or closeout...soon all those rude ppl will be the same ppl complaining they cant get a job. They sell out dated items for alot of money in hopes that ppl with the sears credit card will purchase it caise they have no money...shame on u...just remember those same ppl will probably not pay those debts....so start writing them off...

Cash register froze in the middle of my transaction, which required me to go to another register and stand in a long line. This cashier was unable to locate my purchase (I didnt have my receipt). Finally returning shoes (two different size shoes in my box) and purchasing additional items took a long time.
