UPDATE 3-11-2017 Still using a rental car after buying a SUV from this company. Obviously they think this is normal business because every time I call to get an update they act like I am the one inconveniencing them. And speak as if its normal for it to take 3 months for them to transfer ownership of a vehicle that was paid for in January. The check they cashed immediately in January and its March and I still cant drive my SUV! Hundreds of dollars in car rental fees later I cant get a response to multiple emails. --------- If you want to pay for a rent a car after buying one from here then do business here, otherwise avoid doing business here. Seriously. I purchased a SUV from Gary Elias at Richard Catena Auto Sales on 1/21/2017 and it has been a month without the title work being completed or the promised refund of charges for a tag transfer. I had to rent a car instead of driving the car illegally. You dont expect to spend thousands and thousands of dollars only to look at it in a driveway. To buy the car I flew in from Florida and arrived to a car with issues that were not mentioned before inspecting in person (I asked before flying in), like the 3rd row seat seems falling apart that you could see the cushion; extra dings/dents. I was initially told that a transfer of tag would not be an issue and numbers were quoted based on transfering a tag. I emailed a copy to the Richard Catena email address as directed by Gary on 1/21/2017. Once the paperwork was completed I noticed the charges were higher than initially discussed due to charges for a new tag request. I was told that the emailed PDF of the registration would no longer be enough and they needed a physical copy and to include it with the paperwork that was to be overnighted back once I arrived in my state and a refund for the difference between a tag transfer and new tag would be refunded back to my card. Gary wrote and signed on the paperwork that a credit would be issued once the registration copy was sent and that was overnighted on 1/24/17. I reminded him after already emailing him my existing registration that I wanted to transfer a plate and later adding new stipulations of needing a physical copy came up only after the paperwork was done incorrectly and he didnt want to start over on the documents. Gary mentioned he had other customers to attend to and wanted to get the paperwork signed as is. I now have had to park my new car for almost 2 weeks so far since a 20 day tag was all they could issue. This makes no sense since I have a tag sitting in my home ready to be placed on the vehicle and almost a month later the title work is not completed and no refund for having me overpaid and hearing nothing until I reached out weeks later. If I would have known something as simple as tilting a vehicle would be an issue for a dealership I would have gone to a more traditional dealership, as at least I would be able to use the vehicle that I paid for.

I hope this review solidifies peoples decisions not to use this dealership for any vehicle purchases. We wish we had listened to all the other negative reviews that other people wrote. Our experience was horrible. Over the phone everything went very smoothly. We asked them to bring the car to the local BMW dealer to have a pre-purchase inspection done for peace of mind, before we took time off of work, rented a car and drove 10+ hours to purchase it. The BMW dealer called us and said that for the most part the truck was in good condition, the brakes would need to be replaced soon and there was a plug in the tire too close to the side wall and was deemed unsafe to drive. They said the tire would have to be replaced because run flat tires shouldnt be plugged and that it was plugged in an unsafe location. The salesman agreed with what BMW said completely. And they agreed to put not one but two new tires on the car. Great! So we spoke to the finance department and asked to have all the paper work ready when we got there so we could be in and out asap. So heres where it goes south fast. Myself my pregnant wife and our toddler make the 10 hour trip. We get there the paperwork isnt ready. They pull the truck inside and the tire pressure monitoring light is on. They tell us it must have picked up another nail in a different tire so I inspected the tire. Found the plug exactly where the BMW dealer said it was. So no tires were put on the car as promised. This was at 11:30am. I told them that I wasnt going to put my family in a car that the dealership deemed unsafe to drive. Put a tire on it and well make the deal. James the manager and apparently the only person in charge said that nobody local has a tire. I called the BMW at dealer at 12:30 they had 17 in stock and could do it right then. Our salesman said they would put a tire on and go grab lunch comeback and it will be done. We came back an hour later and waited. At 3:30pm James refused to replace the tire. He said we could take it as is for full price and pay for the tire ourselves. He was more than willing to put my family in a car that was not safe for the road and have us drive 10 hours home. When I refused he said ok then lets just forget the deal. Completely disrespecting my time, effort and money. Also disrespecting the time his sales guy and staff had put in to sell the car. All there negative reviews now make perfect sense. I think Richard Catena needs to find someone better to run his business. Were now actually glad we didnt get the car. Who knows what else could have been wrong with it.

REGRETFULLY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!!!! Bought a BMW with 120K, They were so quick to push this car, and said it was capable of way more than 100k miles and in fact should make it to 200,000 miles with ease. My first Complaint is this: I was promised a warrantee that was supposed to cover 3 months; Additionally I was Assured that anything that wasnt covered by the warrantee but fell inside of 45 days would be discounted in repair by their shop. They said it would be a reasonable price to if something wasnt covered by the warranted. I feel like they were forecasting a problem and should have caught on to it though: After Day 6 of driving, My car starts up and makes a strange sound on Idle, and then i notice black smoke from the tail end of my car in the rear view mirror. My car starts Idling up and down in neutral and i can to keep my foot on the pedal to keep it from stalling; I called that hour and reported it and they checked my paperwork. And then they hung up. I called and the same procedure happened 3 times more. THis shop is more than 50 miles away, but i made time in my work schedule, took a personal day and stopped in. They said they had to charge me 100$ for the diag (SERIOUSLY), and then ran the diag and told me it was intake problems, and that the CCV Valve, DISA valve, and several hoses, connectors and parts were NOT Covered by Warantee. They quoted it at a price of 90$ per hour, for a difficult job and (6 hours at that) The part kit would run them $600 and the total Tax and labor/parts would come to $1196 !!!!!!!!!!! I was furious but tried to retain my anger. I then informed them on the fact that they said they would work with me, and that I was looking at parts kits also as they were and found the same parts for $250 from Amazon. But they would not confirm my pricing and would also push away from my "work with me" status. They kept pushing the conversation of this was the price and they couldnt change it and i should have THOUGHT TWICE BEFORE I PURCHASED A CAR WITH MORE THAN 100,000 MILES... I think i blew a vein in my head, because if you remember before they were pushing this car as a vehicle that could easily last more than 200K miles. I would never ever come back to this dealer. I postes a review seemingly that week after all of that but, some how, it looks like it was removed. Dishonest and will never ever come to this one again.
