I used to live in central Jersey and there was a great Stop & Shop there. This store doesnt have a bakery, deli, cheese section, fish market, butcher or even a sushi counter so is not a full service grocery to me. I know. I know. It doesnt need a sushi counter, but those other things are a must! However, its a good spot if you happen to be or live near and will have most of the items many people would want from their weekly shopping. It depends how you grocery shop. I buy mostly produce and dairy, with trips to the deli, fish market and cheese section at times. So, I prefer a larger market with a huge produce selection. Thats just me. Its in a good location, though, with parking onsite [bonus in the City]. Another decent local spot, but I feel this one could be way better! Im sure many people who live close to it rely on it, but there are so many options nearby including the produce markets. So, it also depends on how many places youd like to visit for your shopping! ; )

This Stop & Shop presented weird smells and situations for 10 minutes I was there to rent a DVD from the Redbox. The entire shop stunk as if some rats died in the fruit section. There were a bunch of kids surrounding the redbox and I am not sure if they were renting the DVD or trying to break the redbox. But some of them were rapping and beat-boxing. Things like these dont really bother me,but then I heard a splash of water behind me. It was a kid vomiting all over the floor and no one around there seemed to care. The randomness of the place, indifferent employees and a small parking lot doesnt do any good to this place either.

This is one of, if not, the worst supermarket in JC. Whats worse is that it is a big chain store and by the way this store appears, is stocked, and is operated, it appears as if stop n shop pretends this store doesnt exist. Unless this store is privately owned and somehow got to keep the name, that would make more sense than it being a stop n shop location. Go to Supremo if youre in this area. It is much cleaner, the employees are much better, the produce and meat is fresh and has a better selection, and the grocery is a much better selection.

Boring stop and shop. Produce selection is ok. This place is small in comparison to other Stop and Shop markets. I saw produce in the garbage. This is a great place to go dumpster diving. I asked the produce man if I can take the mushrooms he was throwing out. He said no. Maybe asking the question interfered with his singing..I wanted to take some and give to Billy the Turtle I was pet sitting. He was singing loudly and did not have a good voice. Lol. I digress.. Any small place. Ok to pick up some groceries. Great staff. Friendly people.

This place is definitely more expensive than Shop Rite, and selection is extremely limited. Most of the times they have a sign on shelves stating they are "currently out of the item" which stay there for about a month. The employees all look so miserable, not friendly at all. Since I live a block away, I only go there if I ran out of something and it cant wait. I rather drive 10 miles and go to a real store that has more and better selection, and friendlier staff.

The parking here is impossible there is never any parking spaces unless you get there very early in the morning and once you get inside of the store there is no shopping room it is always over packed with people and you just cannot get down an aisle and under 5 minutes people are rude and nasty here I would highly suggest a different Stop & Shop to go to. Im giving this rate to Stars only because their staff are very fast and friendly.

I really like this place. I moved to JC last November, and have been going here for 5 months. The workers have all been really nice to me, and its small enough so that I know where everything is. Sometimes at night they run out of stock, but whaccha gonna do. Also its in a city, so yes there are a lot of characters but thats being in a city. If you dont like it move to a yuppie spot. Im really happy I found the place.

Wouldnt really be fair to rank this place any lower because I continue to go there. But its one of the saddest groceries Ive been to. Id choose to go to Supremo if they had some of the same offerings. Stop & Shop is crowded and somewhat unkempt, and I think its an issue of being one of the few stores in the area serving a huge population. Parking can be an issue. If you have a car, head down to Acme (the old A&P).

Shopped here around 7pm Sunday evening, took us 25 minutes to buy 3 items. Lines were very long, and when we get to the cashier were informed that customers are no longer allowed to bag their own things. And no, there is not an additional employee bagging, its the cashier who is also busy ringing up the rest of the items. We were told its for "customer service reasons."

Only went here because its in the neighborhood. But there is never any available parking spots, there are dirty syringes in the parking lot, you cannot take the shopping carts out of the store, no selection of groceries, and absolute dirtbag employees. I only live 3 blocks from here but I drive up to the Pathmark in North Bergen for my grub

This is one of the worst stop and shop markets that I have ever been to. The food in the aisle is a fire hazard and the food is neither fresh or well stocked. They have little or no fish section. Its dirty and overstocked. I was discussed and appalled . Stop and shop corporation should shut this place down. It makes them look bad.

I have come to love this supermarket. Whenever I need something, they have it. They have excellent quality and a good selection of products within each category. And their staff are all so nice! The cashiers are always friendly. And anyone you ask out on the floor can answer questions about where to find what youre looking for.

This supermarket may have a wide variety of choices but its a very old and unhygienic. Very small space are far as a supermarket goes and there is no space to move around. Aisles are small. Its almost like the tried to cram all they could into the smallest space possible, not the best supermarket choice.

Its so small so they dont stock much and never have deals the way bigger stores would. I prefer to drive over to Bayonne to the big stop & shop. Its a shame, they were going to build a super stop & shop and that big empty lot on Summit, but the million fruit & veggie shops put a stop to that.

Pea Pod is a true pleasure. Thank you! only gripe is the window . . .in todays world, should be able to narrow down to one hour not three hours to sit around and wait. WITH THAT SAID, it is great, easy online and the drivers are fantastic!

Its in the sense that youll find pretty much everything that you need. The only issues with this place is that the check out lines get overcrowded and some of the produce like onions arent fresh. The staff are very friendly though.
