Twice within the past 2 weeks Ive purchased something from Stop and Shop, only to come home and find out its moldy. First it was goat cheese, then it was pita bread. Both had a purchase/use by date in the future. This tells me a couple things. 1. Theyre over-stocking based on their volume (and really, who can blame customers for choosing other stores over Stop and Shop). 2. They dont maintain proper climate control to preserve the freshness of their products. I thought I was taking a quick trip to the nearest grocery store to pick up some food, and instead its turned into a time suck, a waste of energy and gas, and a lot of frustration. If you have another grocery store within 10 miles, I strongly suggest you visit that rather than Stop and Shop, particularly the one in Wyckoff.

This is one of the best Stop & Shops in New Jersey. They have a whole chain, Check it, Scan it, Order it, and way it. Do you have to use this chain, or use all of them together? No, you dont. But, it saves you a lot of time. The Order It is the deli kiosk, where you can order your cold cuts on the machine by the door or deli, and either print your ticket or put in your cellphone number and let them text you when your order is ready. It will tell you the ticket number, so when you go to pickup by the deli, it will have order numbers and your number shown on the pickup is your order. And, if you want, you could do the rest of your shopping while the order is being prepared. The Scan it can be activated

Went to Stop & Shop in Wyckoff today around 4:30 and stood at the Deli counter with another woman for 5 minutes. She finally left, I waited a few more minutes before I walked away. There were FIVE people behind the counter, only one doing customer counter orders. I did my shopping and went back before checking out and waited a few more minutes while watching FOUR people doing up orders for people shopping and not one person even acknowledged me. I finally asked if anyone was taking counter orders and was told "it will be a few minutes. I checked out, left and went to Stop & Shop in Franklin Lakes.

I used to like shopping here, but lately the produce has been terrible. Multiple times over the past months, bagged/boxed lettuce was wilted and rotten the day after purchased, way before the expiration date. Blueberries recently purchased were mushy, herbs are always wilted. I would think with the possibility of a Shoprite coming to town, they would improve quality. I really hope Shoprite gets in so there is another option. For now, I will drive past and go out of my way to A&P or Whole Foods to get produce. Such a shame!

They removed the self check that was by the customer svc desk so now you have to go on total opposite end of store and run your food down the filthy belts! Also, the RUDE customer behind you in line starts ringing up his stuff BEFORE you get yours bagged. That causes his food to run down into yours. What a HORRIBLE set up this is! Lots of rrasons I wont be shopping here anymore! Disgusting store, as are all of them here in NJ. Back over in WA state they know how to keep things clean.

RUDE staff. I am sick and tired of checking myself out at the registers right next to the customer service desk only to have the employees CONSTANTLY yelling to each other over your head, pushing your cart out of the way, etc. Then, if I use the self-checkout on the other end, someone ALWAYS comes over and touches my stuff thats down on the belt. Holy crap people. LEAVE ME AND MY STUFF ALONE ALREADY!!!!

I drive an extra 15 minutes from Glen Rock to shop at this store. Great produce, clean, huge selection of everything, good prices, and best of all the hand held scanners so I can scan as I shop and then walk right of the store. SO much more convenient way to grocery shop. I just wish I could register my credit card to my loyalty account so I could just click "check out" and be done. Great store.

Absolutely awful. They make you feel like a criminal always auditing my husbands checkout. Never has he had this happen anywhere else but this happens almost every week. And we are excellent customers but today was the end the smart Alec kid was so loud and going item for item my husband took his card back and that is it!!!

OK grocery store, but the fact that they have pursued legal challenges for YEARS to keep competition out pisses me off. When the Shop Rite finally opens, Stop & Shop lost this customer forever...and I know many like minded people. What they have done is just aint wrong...they will soon pay the price!

Very good super market for the area. We actually drive over from Upper Saddle River because it has everything we need at reasonable prices. I get some folks complaining about various issues but theres no perfect supermarket around town. This is the best of the lot.

I dont understand all the bad reviews. The store is very nice. Respectful people. Although the deli could use some work because it is busy during certain times. Overall best supermarket in the area.

I drive from 3 towns away to come here. Hand held scanners make it so easy. Staff is helpfully and polite. The only downside is some of the other shoppers, rude, nasty and totally selfish.
