Good selection of deli items and prepared foods. But terrible employees and the saddest wine selection Ive ever seen (literally 3 choices, all $6.99, from the same company, with twist tops). When I asked an employee where the wine was, his annoyed response was, "End of aisle 2," and walks away. Didnt look at me, didnt acknowledge my presence. My bad for not noticing the 2 x 3 display at the end of an aisle. And when I checked out, the cashier looked half asleep/hungover. When she bagged my groceries, it was like she was trying to do it in the worst possible order (milk on top of peaches and plums, bananas on top of bread, placed a cheesecake upside down so the whipped cream on top got ruined, placed pasta salads on their sides so olive oil started to leak onto other items, and shoved a bag over to the corner to make room for other items, causing a glass bottle to fall on its side, and I had to check to make sure it wasnt broken because it sounded like it had). Ill be looking elsewhere in the area for my grocery needs. I liked the selection. But if Im throwing down $50 for 2 small bags of groceries, I dont want to deal with folks who seem to hate their jobs/lives.

This is possibly the worst grocery store ever. Theyre always running out of the basics (e.g. skim milk, regular Danon yogurt, white bread), and I cannot begin to even count the number of times Ive brought home milk (which should go bad in 2-3 weeks according to the expiration date) that has already curdled. Their selection is remarkably poor (who keeps Blueberry White Tea flavored Arizona Iced Tea but doesnt stock the traditional Lemon?), and the quality of their food is poor. I would give zero stars, but am not allowed to do so. Oh, and did I mention theyre even more expensive than Whole Foods (which has far superior quality products, better service, and reliably stocks, at the very minimum, the basics)? Well, let me be clear: theyre insanely expensive! Seriously, if you can go elsewhere, do so!

I have been shopping at Morton Williams for many years and have always found it a very nice neighborhood market, however in the last few months , since the closing of Food Emporium on 51st & 2nd ave.the prices have gone up dramatically. It is price gouging on steroids. We have many senior citizens on fixed incomes and it has become a hardship for them. I am not talking a few cents but dollars. I recently bought oatmeal and the price difference at Duane Reade for the same product was almost a two dollar difference. A fair priced neighborhood market important is important to our quality of life.

On behalf of the "Human Affect” Ad Hoc Unit: Human Rights Learning through Arts and Athletics would like to thank Morton William’s supermarket for their courteous donation. Your food basket allowed us to entertain our guests at one of our networking events at the United Nations Headquarters during summer 2010. We are grateful for your sponsorship and look forward to building a solid relationship for the promotion of Peace and Security for Planet Earth. Thank you, Pamela Vera @Ad Hoc Unit International Event Coordinator

A good grocery store for New York City, but overall average at best and sometimes exhibiting the worst of New York food (see photos of disguisting melted ice cream it sold). Most vegetables and fruit are relatively fresh, but very expensive, which its seems to justify because it is only Mid-town East grocery in NYC above 27th Street. Trader Joes (near Union Square, downtown) and Food Emporium 27th and 3rd) are better value for money. It does have good quality pre-packaged meat, fish and deli products that are good.

E for Expensive. A supermarket (chain) in the city, carrying standard, more upscale goods than your C-Town, but youre paying more than your supermarket shopping experience told you was full price. Of coarse, they have to pay the rent, and have to survive against Whole Foods Market sucking away everyones customers, so theres probably a good reason they are expensive. But, Im not paying that much.

This place is the worst. First of all, most items overpriced (I know its Manhattan but some of their items are just ridiculously expensive and sub-par in quality). There have been times where I will buy dairy products and within 1 day they will already be expired. Even though I live 1 block away from MW, I find that the 10 minute walk to Whole Foods on 57th and 2nd is well worth the trip.

Decent grocery store in Midtown East with good prices! The layout isnt as confusing as some other groceries in Manhattan, and the prices are good compared to other stores in the area. If you need stuff for an office party or something along those lines (since I dont live in the area), skip the bodega and stop here.

This store is false advertising! I asked everyone who worked there and nobody said they were Morton Williams. Whats more, nobody even knew Morton Williams! One person even had the tenacity to laugh in my face! I have a feeling Morton Williams doesnt work in this store at all!!! I want my money back.

On y trouve de tout (plats préparés aussi). Prix correct sur la partie supermarché, un peu plus cher sur la partie bio.

Personally, I have chosen to shop in Morton Williams Supermarkets because of the good service. The staff is always helpful and very friendly which is something I value. Otherwise, the variety of food is also very good – you can find everything you need.

Good place if you need to quickly grab something, but the produce is expensive (and pretty much everything else too). They do sometimes have certain things on sale, like peanuts...Still better than doing your shopping at Duane Reade across the street.

Nicer than average urban supermarket. Fairly expensive, but better selection and more pleasant than Gristedes. Often find well-priced imported brands of crackers and other items. Prices on dairy items are quite high, but selection is pretty good.

I called form Maryland to have groceries delivered to our sick daughter. They were very patient and helpful. Jocobel (sp?) was exceptionally wonderful! They had that home town feel in a big urban city. Hats off!

Not that many options around and generally gets the job done. It isnt Fairway and is a little pricey but decently well organized with a selection of prepared foods as well.

Excelent supermarket in the area. Has every basic and more. Everything is well organized and clean. There is barely waiting time in line to pay. A bit expensive tho.

Im not from the city... so not used to paying $40 for a bag of chips. Food selection is good, but Id rather load up at like a Costco or something.

Space wise, this is a relative small grocery. It is a compact store but you can get everything here for your kitchen at reasonable prices.
