very disrespectful i called for the status of my application the store manger picks up asks me for my name i give him my name then he goes what time are you available to work i answered him politely 7am-5pm and he says thank you have a nice day and clicks like if you ask me that was very rude and disrespectful you couldnt even take the time to say "hey look sorry but at this time we are full for that type of schedule maybe you can try a little later we might have an available position" and i would have replied "well thank you for your time have a great day and yes ill try again a little later" but no he just clicks without any reason very rude and very disrespectful will not recommend this place to any of my family members

Extremely busy all the time! Checkouts are slow and with my last experience I will avoid going back at all costs. Waited with my son crying in his stroller while the cashier and two customers conversed in Spanish. They could clearly see this and kept looking at my and then retuning to speak some more! I was becoming increasing frustrated and so was my son. Prices are competitive but there is so many other choices if you have a car! Compared to other stores their selection is okay. The only thing I do like is their meat counter which has a wide range of reasonably priced goods. I have noticed however Key Foods has exactly the same though of similar standard and price. Would visit there before Shoprite.

I called this place at 8:40pm to check up what time the seafood area close before heading there not to take a trip for nothing lady on the phone said they close at 10pm ok i took a trip 1.6miles in a really rainy day and traffic got there at 9:10pm seafood arear was already empty and cleaned. Ask other worker they said to wait hes coming 9:35pm had to go to the desk so they can call him nothing someone else had to take care of me. Then he gets back giving me a attitude asking me if he cant take a break etc. U take a break at 9pm and u close at 10pm make no sense. But i got home to expire shimp never again. ppl like that should not be working with costumers.

What a trip. This store was the best experience of our day. Aisle 4. You will understand. Coffee, garden hoses, lawn gnomes, toys, kool aid, hats, bowls, cups and rubbermaid. In the produce aisle, if you can even categorize this store into categories, we found coconuts next to the onions, right in front of the pallettes of mulch and behind that were the cold cuts and lobsters. This made for a hilarious shopping experience, even the guy at the checkout seemed to be having a good time. I dont live in the area, but I seriously look forward to returning to this store upon my next stay in the area. Oh and CHARLIE! Please come to the front desk.

ShopRite of Jersey City is literally one of the worst grocery stores at which I have ever shopped. It is downright dirty- I have found half eaten corn on the cob on the shelves in the aisles, chicken bones on the floor.... just gross. I sought out the store manager after the corn incident, and he proceeded to blame the customers and the prior manager- take responsibility man! Also, when my family did shop here (before the previously mentioned incidents), the deli counter would take at least 25 minutes, even if there were two customers at the counter. I recommend closing ShopRite and replacing it with a Fairway!!

Its a big store so theres a wide selection. However its always packed, theres never enough checkout lines open, the lines move really slow, some produce doesnt get quality checked often enough, & they dont enforce preventing people with large carts from going through the Express line. The other customers give dirty looks but they dont get turned away from checking out in that line. So whats the point. On the good side, there is a RedBox outside the entrance and I can usually find everything Im looking for. The sales are decent and definitely cheaper than everywhere else to buy groceries except maybe Target.

Great place to go for well priced goods, and fresh produce. However, theres usually a line here, since its the only supermarket around the downtown Jersey City area. The staff coud use some work. But the location of this place is very convenient and has great parking. Its close to the mall and the lightrail. Note to all shoppers and cart maintenance crew: be sure to put the grocery carts back or put them in their designated areas after use. Its annoying for a lot of people to have to get out of their cars to move a shopping cart that has been left in a parking spot.

Pretty terrible experience all around. Understaffed and very crowded. Staff is moderately friendly and not customer focused. I will say some of its not their fault as its just a height traffic store. One issue I have is when trying to buy some over the counter medicine AND ONE EXTRA ITEM I was told they cant ring me up. So after waiting for 5 minutes before the unfriendly pharmacist then I had to wait 10 plus minus in the express line to get my one extra item. Please store management please use your head!!!!

My favorite supermarket, well stocked, and cost of groceries and home products are better than anywhere else with similar style of merchandising and offerings. Service at checkout is usually fast depending on speed and dexterity of the cashier. They should think of putting self service checkouts in the future for even faster service. Customer service counter could be improved with more positive approach to customers who may have checkout errors. However they are usually resolved in favor of the customer.

Its got a wide variety of products here and they also have a good range of cuts for meat products (you can find pig knuckles and some offal here too). Thats the good part. The bad? Product display is in a bit of disarray. And then theres the checkout line... Dear heavens the checkout line. Its utter chaos - the queues zigzag, seamlessly blending from one counter to the next, and many of the cashiers take their sweet time to ring up the bills. Ive had better experience at DMV than I do here.

This place is not up to suburban Shoprite standards. Ive shopped in ShopRite since I was a baby. Ive also worked in consumer research at various supermarket chains including ShopRite. Service is nowhere near par. The quality of produce is far below par. Often I see a banana display greener than grass. Often the fish guy complains when I ask for 1 pound and wont accept 1.3 pounds. I wish I had more time to travel to a suburban store such as Springfield, but often I dont.
