This place makes me hate grocery shopping. The staff is so unfriendly, lazy and unprofessional. They make me regret setting food in here every time I do, hoping that this time will be different. Its never the case. Most of the time, I get so offended by the way they act, rolling their eyes or just acting like they dont understand my requests, that I end up leaving my cart and shopping at Whole Foods. I definitely feel that they are racists and have a thing against white people. I stopped shopping here altogether anyway because it was so bad, and only come if the snow is really heavy. And even so, I always hate having to come here, and make sure I limit what I spend to the minimum because I know they dont value my business. If you do end here though, a warning - make sure you verify the prices at the register: theyre NEVER accurate and youll end up overpaying. Thats yet another proof of how lazy the staff is: cant even make sure the products are labelled properly. Management is no better. It comes as no surprise that FW gets such a bad rep and is having business problems.

I now use this place as a deli for last minute items forgotten for dinner. Their produce used to be pretty good. Anyone who thinks that it currently rates high has not shopped at Whole Foods which has WAY better/fresher produce (and organic for not much more money than Fairway.) Fairways produce is hit or miss; most often a miss. I now usually go there for condiments that I cannot get at Whole Foods--not much else. Quality has gone down. Twice I bought rancid chicken there and they would not refund me-I am still trying to get my money back but it has been almost a year. I recently bought yogurt there - quick grab on my way home for work. It was expired as I found out when I opened the rancid package. If you must shop there, use it as your local deli--and be diligent about checking the expiration dates. Also, workers are very unhappy. Many Fairway workers have shared with me that they make them work on their holidays and Thanksgiving--even when they do not want to. This is a shame.

This is a great store, like all Fairway markets. The supply is good, with a wide range of groceries along with ready-made food, and they have a nice range of products under their own name that are reasonably priced. Unfortunately the prices are quite a bit higher than at the less-geographically-desirable locations (e.g., Red Hook). Still, I have to say this. I picked up the store-brand blueberry pie for Thanksgiving, and it was so bad I couldnt even finish one slice. Not just bad: bad enough to make you think something is seriously wrong with these people for selling it. The ingredient list -- on the bottom, suspiciously, to discourage reading? -- starts with "Blueberry preserve." Really, is that an ingredient? Second is "Trans fat free butter blend." And then its on to the crust. Uh, isnt this supposed to be a health-conscious, quality store? Why dont the words "blueberries" appear anywhere? Anyway, shop here. Avoid the pies.

I happen to work near this location, so it is a nice spot for me to go to after work to get ingredients to cook with for the night. The best part is that prices arent too outrageous, and even in peak times when lines are long you can quickly get out of there. I think the main area that puts this review more into the realm of 3.5 stars than 4 is that if you have been to say the Fairway in Red Hook, you can easily see that the Chelsea location is maybe 70% of what Fairway can be. The lack of a meat market makes a huge difference to me. At Red Hook you can take advantage of occasional great deals on high quality meats and be able to get custom cuts and weights that you simply cant get at Chelsea. That being said, for a quick in and out after work, I can usually get exactly what I need and feel like Im getting a good deal on price, especially with vegetables, herbs, and coffee.

I came here post-workout at Planet Fitness down the street for a salad and a banana. I wound up getting the Greek lemon salad, which is comprised of all spinach (no cheap iceberg lettuce!), peppers, olives, feta and your usual assortment of Greek veggies plus pure lemon juice as a dressing. I was stunned at the crisp flavors of this salad. The lemon juice mixed with feta and olives, tomatoes, etc created a vivid experience for my palate that not only fueled me but energized me as well. For 8$ out the door, you cant go wrong here. The only thing I wish is that they had a seating area so I could dine-in, since it was too cold to eat outside (which would be nice as the weather allows) I wound up scarfing it down hidden in the back of the nearby McDonalds. Sue me.

Need Olive Oil and only a wall full of choices and a tasting bar will do the job? Come here. Like all Fairway locations its a mix of staples and more rarefied ingredients. Highlights include a gourmet hot bar, more types of cheese than you knew existed, bulk bins of grains and snacks, gorgeous produce and beyond helpful staff... They are smart enough to not compromise on space and they have more than enough registers so running in and out quickly during most times of the day without ever having to wait on line is possible. Definite bonus.

My favorite grocery store. The layout of this one is kind of winding and awkward, but dont let that fool you - there is a great selection of all kinds of food here, and at completely reasonable prices. The counters (deli meat, cheese, olive bar) have a lot of varieties and the staff is friendly and helpful. Fairway is good for both niche foods (nutritional yeast, chia seeds) and more common groceries (eggs, breads, soups etc). Very densely-packed store, and not always the easiest to navigate, but you can ultimately find whatever you need.

Fairway Market has dropped its service and product standards. In the last several years I have bought spoiled meat, milk, dairy products and expired products. The worse thing about Fairway is the management folks in the stores. Whenever a customer brings a complaint, respectfully, they almost always act as if they are too busy, not understanding that the dissatisfied customer is the one who needs more attention. Fairway Markets does not have quality products and services such as Wholefoods or Trader Joes...now I can see why.

All Fairway Markets Ive ever been to always have amazingly fresh produce and the quality is consistent year round. I dont know how they do it. Anyway, the after work shopping crowd often generates a line that reaches the back of the store and causes wait times of up to 10 minutes before you can check out. But thats nothing unique to this store as Ive seen this at many grocery stores in Manhattan (Trader Joes, Whole Foods).

Es un súper algo caro. Se puede coger comida y café para desayunar. No encuentro la lógica en cuanto a cómo está ordenado. Productos de la misma familia en 3 estanterías distintas separadas varios metros
