I bought a new ladies Liv hybrid bike (baby blue, very cute) from Sourland Cycles. I was upgrading from my old Schwinn road bike. I was excited to make the shift from a leaning-forward type of bike to a sitting-back-and-relaxing type of bike. But I was sad to discover that in the first month of me biking around NYC (where I live) I started experiencing knee pain from riding. I asked around to a few guys at bike shops in New York to see what might be causing it -- was it the fact that it was an upright seat? That the weight distribution and angle was bad for my knees? They gave me some pointers, but didnt seem that invested in a solution. Then I called Mike from Sourland (the owner who sold me the bike) and asked him what to do and how to solve the issue. He had me describe what I was experiencing in detail and referred me to the bike fitter they had in store, Carrie. She called me the next day and talked through the issue with me, telling me exactly where my knee should be at different parts of my stroke. Mike also suggested that I move my seat forward so there was more weight on the handlebars. All of their suggestions worked and now I know exactly how to adjust my bike if I start experiencing knee pain. I was so impressed by and appreciative of their care and concern towards my problem, and the speed at which they got back to me to discuss it with me. In addition, the buying experience in-store was really awesome. Mike was wonderful and patient in allowing me to try out all different bikes and make sure I had exactly what I was envisioning. Really great shop, great service! P.S. Love their vending machine outside! So cute! Totally recommend. :)

Not for this beginner Drove two hours had terrible experience wanted to buy a Pedigo Electric Bike . Told the boy I hadnt ridden a bike in many years walked me across the street for test drive he was not as forthcoming as I was and just put the bike on power and I was smashed into the blacktop then the second try he changed the seat because I told him I felt like the bike did not fit me asked him to make it into just a bike without power went around and because of the seat which turned sideways and was too high I crashed down into the pavement again.....was getting nothing from the young man I begged both times for him to stop pulling on the bike and to help me up....he never reacted I came home with bruises on my hip and ankle and no skin left on the knee ... my stomach has the bruised imprint of the handlebar....he never showed any concern or even if I was okay to get to my car....I am 65 told him I had not ridden a bike in two decades and had a learning curve the bike is over sixty pounds. He should have turned it over to someone who knew the bike and who could help someone who truly wanted to learn how to ride not crash and burn an electric bike Shocked at the whole thing could hardly walk these next days....Once again cannot tell you how distant this boy was....Wow !

Sourland Cycles came to my rescue once again. Last week I got a flat tire ~ 2 miles from the shop. I called and asked whether someone was available to come to my aid to fix it. A knowledgeable and well-spoken young man named Rob drove over with everything necessary & fixed the tire in 5 minutes roadside. This allowed me to continue on my ride and arrive back home well before sunset. The prompt and accommodating customer service from Sourland Cycles is fantastic!!! This was the 2nd time they answered my distress call to repair a flat tire during one of my rides. The first time was in June, and co-owner, Mike came to my assistance. Fortunately for me, otherwise the PFW ride I was leading would have been spoiled. I would be remiss, if I also did not recognize the great job Tom did to tune up my bike and replaced a worn out chain. It is wonderful to know I can count on the staff at Sourland Cycles to handle all of my bike repairs promptly and courteously.

This was an awesome experience to have with Michael Gray and the bike shop from the moment I came in to inquire about a racing bike. He was the most helpful and patient guy you want to deal with. He knows bikes quite well and is very helpful explaining what is what. I recommend the shop to any one in search of a good bike and service both before the purchase and after. there just isnt another customer service oriented shop I have experienced better than Sourland cycles. they have an array of bikes for every activity from novice to racer. they fit you and assist along the way.

I stopped in today for my first visit, about 20 minutes before closing, looking for road shoes I needed the day before my vacation. They were fairly busy so they didnt get to me for 10-15min, but they didnt rush me and answered all of my questions. It was a good bit after closing when I made my choice and they still installed the speedplay cleats onto the shoes and greased my pedals for me. Very nice guys and a beautiful shop. I will definitely go there again.

This place is awesome!!! I went there looking for my first road bike and they found the perfect bike! They had a 58 cm Specialized Allez, and within minutes I was trying it out. They were awesome advising me in finding the perfect bike shoe as well and after a bit of fitting I was ready to roll! Definitely the best bike store around with their efficient and fast staff! Highly recommend this place for anyone who seeks a new bike, or just a place for tune-ups.

A friendly staff who is always ready to welcome you at the store. It doesnt matter if you are an experienced cyclist or just looking for a bike to have fun, they will help you find the best bike according to your needs. An other asset of the shop is that they also have a special section for women (bikes and gear). Dont hesitate to visit, as they say, this is a different kind of bike shop!!! have tried to get help from them, they dont want to put the time in to build new customers. i asked for new end caps on a hub, he told me it couldnt be done, claimed they dont make 15mm road axles, and said i should just get a new wheel. he didnt know what kind of wheel i had so how did he know it would be cheaper or it couldnt be done? second time ive tried to deal with them and 2nd time ive gotten the feeling of my business not being wanted

Great people were very helpful explained everything and treated us extremely well. We went with our son who was looking for a bike, we were treated so well my son purchased his and my wife and I also then purchased bikes they made sure we liked and fit what we purchased ,Russ Was the best , we live about 2 hours away in Pa and would travel back again if we needed to purchase another bike. This is a top rate shop with everything you need.
