I got about 10 blinds from the East Hanover Home Depot at Route 10, NJ. I had a very bad shopping experience that I believe Home Depot office should be aware of. My problems began when, after my windows were measured, I went to home depot and I had to wait about one hour to get someone to help me. When finally someone helped me, he didn’t know how to operate the software used to order the blinds. After spending about 30 minutes waiting, store was closing and we were told home depot would contact us the following day to close the purchase. (continued) The following day, as agreed, we were contacted and ordered about 10 blinds. Since the order was finalized over the phone I got not receipts or anything right away. The receipts were mailed to me and I got it a few days ago. I was told to contact the guy that installs the blinds after it had arrived. When I received three boxes of blinds, I checked the colors and since it looked right, I contacted the professional that was going to install the blinds. When he came, he noticed that there was a missing box. He contacted home depot at East Hanover to make sure the box had been ordered (since I had not receipt). He was told the box would be delivered and I was told to call him again after I have received the remaining blinds. When I finally did receive the missing box I called him and I was told to call home depot. I was told then that I was supposed to pay (again) to have the missing blinds installed. I was also told that it was my responsibility to have checked that all blinds had arrived before calling for the installation. The problem is that I didn’t have the order to check what had been ordered and I had NOT received any instructions that I had to count or verify that all the blinds had arrived that they should. Since I didn’t have the order in front of me, I couldn’t have checked anyway. When I was told that a box was missing, I was NOT told I would be charged again to have the missing blinds installed. Overall, for the first time my purchase experience at home depot was very bad. Since I had always used the home depot service in the past I felt betrayed as a customer and I won’t shop at home depot ever again.

I want to make this clear...these comments do NOT apply to ALL Home Depot stores. I have had good experiences in other stores but this East Hanover location specifically, I have had the most issues with on the most consistent basis. I guess many of the local residents have some pretty low standards based on other reviews here. This is probably THE WORST Home Depot in the country. There is never anyone around to help. If you do manage to see someone down one of the long isles, they usually walking away from you as soon as you make eye contact. If you do happen to catch someone...SURPRISE!!, "Sorry, not my department, let me go and find someone." That employee or any other, never to be seen again. Have a question? Dont bother..i have never walked out of that place with an answer. Need some actual help finding/reaching/cutting something? At this specific Home Depot, be prepared to find out just how unhappy they are that they have to be at work, while they attempt to help you out. The attitude of the employees along with the style of management at this Home Depot is a prime example of why American industry, manufacturing, and the overall blue collar class has failed to thrive against competition in other countries.

Really hit or miss. Some employees are very helpful, some are awful. For your reading pleasure, allow me to share - as close to verbatim as possible - an actual interaction at this store. This happened last night. Me: (addressing the guy I was pointed to as "the plumbing guy.) Hiya - can I please have some help in faucets? Him: (unintelligible grumbling) whadjaneed? Me: theres a faucet Im looking for - its not on the shelf or on display, but I see the box up near the rafters. Him: if its not on display, we dont carry it. Me: the website says there are 5 in stock. Him: thats the website. Me: Er, no, look, it says 5 in Stock in East Hanover. Him: I dont believe that, I dont use those phone things. Me: uh, can you please grab a ladder?! I promise, I see it up on the shelf. Him: how much does it cost? Me: (??) 110 bucks.... Why? Him: theres no price tag for 110 on the shelf, we dont have it. Me: can you please grab that one for me? Him: if you really want me to, but thats not it. We dont carry it. Me:... Him: (up on the ladder) oh. Theres no reason we should have this. I dont understand. (drops box down at me) Me: thanks. Him: (more unintelligible grumbling)

I had an amazing experience at my visit at your store... I went to your garden section for help on reseeding my lawn... I met SIRI there and I am very happy that I did! Siri is the consummate professional!!! She asked me what my needs were and I told her what I wanted to do and what supplies I would need... Siri was very Helpful... Courteous... and Attentive to all my needs... She got me all the supplies I needed and more... Siri even chased me down to tell me she has a hose that is better priced and longer... I was very fortunate to meet Siri.., And thanks to Siri ... I had a wonderful shopping experience at Home Depot!!!!! Joel.

Horrible today in gardening dept!! Employees were rude and unhelpful!! Didnt show up til 8:15 then didnt want ring up my plants! Claiming didnt have receipt paper meanwhile the other employee found a small roll and said let me just ring her up and let her leave. And said this was going to be a long day! The other employee claims there wasnt any paper and told me to go inside and pay. I tried to see her name tag but she was hiding tag with her cardigan . Very lazy employees !! I shall not come here again !!

Save yourself the time of returning what ever you buy (because it will probably be broken, re-sealed or missing small but key parts) and drive to the Vauxhaull store. Yeah, its a bit further- but this way you wont have to deal with the sub par staff that the East Hanover store hires and be talked down to. If you do happen to go to the East Hanover location, youll notice the lack of professional contractors shopping there; shortly after that youll realize why.

Im shocked at how bad the customer service was. Having completed projects with several Home Depot locations across NJ, PA and DE, the East Hanover Home Depot was unresponsive, rude and seemingly went out of their way to pass responsibility to other departments / associates. I will never use this store again despite their proximity. I would much rather drive an additional 15 minutes than go through another round of pass-the-buck.

I recently bought a grill at Home Depot. It did not work ,so I went back to complain. The employee who took care of me-LOUIE FROM GARDENING- asked me a few questions then said where do you live. Two hours later HE WAS AT MY HOUSE AND FIXED IT IN 3 MINUTES AND WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE. What a rare experience to have such wonderful service .He certainly deserves a promotion and a raise . Thanks Louie !!!!! Scott
