As others have pointed out we came here to read. Since we couldnt find any chairs all throughout we sat down at a secluded corner where we werent obstructing anyones path. After a couple of hours a guy came up and told us to stand up that we had been there for way too long. Im a shopper and Ive been at other B&mWqN stores and never had an issue for sitting on the floor, this is why Im so shocked at this all. The worst part was that this guy who spoke to us started following us around the store. As we approached the door we noticed the security guard had been following us and he stood by the door as we were about to leave. As I noticed I asked him if he was escorting us out which he denied. I asked him for a name to file up to corporate and he wouldnt give us one. Thats when he said he was from Metro Security. I spoke to the store manager for the escorting out part and she came up and said they have a policy where they dont allow people seating in the hall because of some policy from the town where they require all halls to be clear in case there are any emergencies. They should state this because the whole process of telling you to stand up is really offensive and can be understood as something else. I felt really disrespected by it all. She was very nice and understanding and she said the security guy was out of place and that she was gonna make sure to take care of his behavior as someone else pointed out the same thing earlier. She even offered a coffee and invited me into the store. Ill still file a complaint to corporate as I consider this way of handling things poorly. If you are coming to study to this place dont waste your time. Youll be kicked out after a few minutes, thats how they roll.

I was there a couple of days ago with my sister, she had bought a large order of books and I noticed that the bag was ripping in the sides. I told her to go to the car so the books wont fall out while I go get another bag. I went to the front told the cashier what happened and from her face it clearly said she didnt believe me. She started to ask me questions, "Where is your sister? Where is your car? What did she buy?", mind you she saw me leave with my sister just a minute earlier. Then she asks me the dumbest and most bizarre questions, "What kind of bag did she take outside?" I told her, "it was your bag, the store bag!" She asked, "me what size was it?" I wasnt shoe shopping I just need a completely inexpensive plastic bag to hold my items, why am I being interrogated by this woman. Why are you wasting my time? She made me seem like I was some sort of thief because I asked for a bag. If its policy that you dont give out bags to people just say so and I will walk away but this woman was so rude I was disgusted and I never want to go back.

Not the same bookstore I knew! I have always enjoyed this store, but havent been here in some time, since my family moved. They redesigned the layout to accommodate games, puzzles and other things that are not books, in addition to the mammoth Nook area. I came on a busy Sunday, I ordered food & drink at the cafe but sat Im an aisle to eat, because every table was taken, mostly by people camped out on laptops. When I went upstairs and picked my pile of fiction books to weed through and narrow down, I realized they had removed all of the seating, so I sat in the floor next to a window for the light. A security guard came by and told me I wasnt allowed to sit on the floor, and he was RUDE. When I asked where I was allowed to sit, he told me he didnt know, but I wasnt allowed here, they (the store) dont like it. Awesome. Instead of buying the 4-6 novels that would of been a decent sale, I scanned and added them to my Kindle list. Last visit.

I dont usually shop at Barnes and Noble... However, i went there looking for a book for my fiance. I wasnt greeted as soon as I walked in. I was only greatest the moment I picked something up off the shelf. This gave my the feeling I was being watched. I put down the item and continued to browse. I went into the movies section. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The gentleman asked if I needed help. I said no thanks just looking. Everywhere I went in the section he was behind me. I kept moving around thinking, maybe hes just putting items away. Wrong. I was being followed... I spent some time in a particular aisle. Once I left the movie section he said have a good day and immediately went to that section searching around as if I was doing some shady. This gave me a very uncomforting and unwelcoming feeling. I left the store without buying anything and probably will never return.

One of my favorite haunts for the last decade. Its large and spacious and the Starbucks café - while one of the largest Ive seen in a Barnes and Noble - could be considerably be bigger or just simply be a -real- Starbucks vs a leased space. You can always find a wide variety of new and current books here and I cant say its ever been disorganized. Youll be hard pressed to find a place to sit and read a book - but then again - this isnt a library. The store hours changed recently - they used to be open until 11 almost every night but now close at 9 most nights. This location can very crowded right before a blockbuster movie showing time as people will lounge here on the weekend before the beginning of their movie at the next door AMC.

The employees are so RUDE AND ABARSIVE!!! I sat down in the café section and after I finished my drink, I continued to read. A heavy-set blonde employee with glasses came up to me and told me I had to leave because I wasnt purchasing anything at that moment. Mind you, I had been sitting there a total of 20 minutes and there were at least 5 open tables around me. Also, I am 8 MONTHS PREGNANT!!!! She was being so rude that even a customer next to me chimed in that she was being out of line. She told me that I had to leave otherwise she would call the manager. I asked for the manager, who never came. I work in customer service and would never in my life talk to a customer the way this girl talked to a paying, pregnant customer.

Beautiful bookstore. Surrounded by tall shelves that go up to the ceiling, are packed with current or out of print paperbacks & hard covers of all themes and genres. A great selection of books, if your into that kind of stuff. You can get lost in here and spend a couple of hours even, discovering new books and reminiscing old ones. Each table has an "Employee Pick," and "Most Recommended," so the books that are on display seem to circulate throughout the month. Youll ALWAYS find new & interesting books to rummage through. The upstairs is another area that will take you into the world of Art & Culture.
