On Dec. 12, Friday, I went to Barnes and Noble at Riverside Mall with my brother and my aunt. It was a beautiful day and we were in good moods. While I was looking at something quickly, the manager (he was about 6ft tall with sharp eyes and short grey hair) was viciously saying "Where is this kid?" "Hey where is your mom? Why are you alone?" and walked towards my brother. I stopped him and asked him what happened. The manager said my brother was running the escalator up and down screaming. Okay, Im fully aware my brother has special behavior problems because he is autistic. What got me really mad was even when his coworker asked sensitively "Maybe he has special needs?", the manager disregarded the consideration that someone might have special needs and started walking towards my brother as if he was chasing after a criminal. My brother was probably less than 3ft away from me and there was barely anyone in the store. My brother loves books and we come here every weekend. Ive seen this manager talking with a very rude manner and viciously to other customers as if they were below him. Bookstores are places to read, to relax and to have fun. A manager is responsible of keeping that atmosphere and provide comfortable customer services. That manager does not qualify as a manger by chasing and scaring after my brother like that even when my brother was consistently saying " I didnt do anything. I didnt do anything". There were two bookstores in my area before but they closed down few years ago so only bookstore that is available and id updated is at this location. Its not about parking, how big the store is or how bad/good Starbucks is. His action was an offending insult to someones disability. The manager didnt seem to care about or even have an consideration that someone who is acting abnormally might have a disability. The tone of his voice, and attitude were not appropriate and someone like this doesnt deserve a position of authority.

I was at the store this afternoon to purchase a $100.00 gift card and a birthday card $103.16. I used a debit card and the cashier Harry W told me that he had to verify my card because the charge was $100.00. He went to the phone and started to punch buttons which took about 2 minutes before he came back and put through my charge explaining when I asked that gift cards can be a problem???? When I checked my bank account I saw two charges one for the correct amount and the other for $100 which should not be. I called B&N and a woman told me that I would have to take the issue up with my bank and she would not help me. My bank said that the cashier may have put in a charge by mistake and should have given me a credit and had me sign for it. Then I received a call from my banks card loss prevention because they felt there was illegal activity on my card which was the two charges at the same time when there should have been only one. I dont think I will shop at Barnes & Noble again since they are not helpful when they make a mistake. I am waiting to see if this charge drops away or if it posts. B&N will hear from me if it does not drop.

Love this place. Staff is always helpful. You can read and relax, it is an experience. The only place to be on a Sunday --- only place open in bubba middle age minded blue law Bergen County!!! People its 2017 get with it --not everyone is going to church or visiting grandma! Grandma actually hangs at Barnes & Noble with us

Very nice Barnes & Nobles. They have a good assortment of books and other gifts. The kids also love the toys here. This place and the restaurants are the only places keeping this mall alive.

I love this Barnes and Noble. Its so cozy and it has a small café on the first floor. The workers there are polite and are very much willing to help you if you cant find something.

Magazine section is cramped and they could use a better layout in the cafe. Lack of power outlets means I will only stay as long as my laptop battery holds out for.

We love going here, especially after food at Cheesecake Factory, they have Starbucks there and two floors worth of books.

Its s fun store for the kids. On the second floor there is an area for kids to read. Is very nice.
