I typically go to Best Buy for my purchases, but I may reconsider that for the future. The only reason I really go here is because of in-store pickup, which is simple and painless. Im always in and out incredibly fast. I recently was in the market to purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S Tab 10.5, and I wanted to get it from Best Buy as they had a promotion going on where if you trade in ANY working tablet, youd get a $50 credit, and then another $50 coupon off a Galaxy S tab, making a total of a $100 discount. This was perfect, as Id be able to budget the $400 for the tablet better. I go in with an HTC Evo View 4G with all intentions on trading it in, as all over XDA and other Android websites, people had no problems trading in the Evo View for the credit, as its identical to the HTC Flyer, which was a Best Buy exclusively sold tablet a few years ago. I go to try to do it, and they refuse. They claim they couldnt take it because it wasnt a tablet that Best Buy sold, despite the fact I reiterated the fact that it was 100% identical to the HTC Flyer, but it just had Sprints 4G radios built in. Despite having it in the box with all manuals and chargers and even the $60 HTC active pen, they denied this sale. The whole point of this promotion was to get customers into the store to sell this new line of Galaxy S tablets; NOT to make money off of sub-par old tablets. The thing is, there were stories all over the forums of Best Buy taking tablets even older and cheaper than my Evo View, and also many stories of people with the Evo View successfully trading it in. Either way, Best Buy lost my sale on this tablet and I dont think Ill be buying any more high-end electronics from this store...I think ill just stick to Amazon.

As a woman, I find shopping at Best Buy degrading. It doesnt matter which store I am in. I could be standing in any department, wanting to spend $5000. I could have my wallet out, my cash out, waving it around. Not one Best Buy employee will ask me if I need help. This has been going on FOR YEARS. As the technical person in my family, I find it DEGRADING and SEXIST. I experienced it again tonight the Brick store. I went in to purchase a simpler tablet this time. I was helped immediately when I came in, spoke for a while with a very nice young lady in the cell phone area who gave me great help. Then when I was done, I headed back to look at Samsung tablets, and I was there for 20 some odd minutes... No one around to help. Lots of blue shirted people stocking things, but no one wanted to help me spend my money. I walked over to them, all three of them and asked if any of them could help me. They had to go to the mobile area to get the nice girl who was helping me earlier to help with the tablet. I am just so sick of walking into any Best Buy, and being IGNORED because of my gender, and my age. Its discrimination. The culture of the whole company needs to change. And, not only that, they never have any accessories for tablets or other things, the shelves are always empty. Its a crying shame. No wonder AMAZON kicks their A$$. No one has to deal with gender discrimination. Ugh.

I went on this past Sunday at 7pm to pick up an air conditioning window unit. I recognize that it was only an hour from closing on Memorial Day weekend but service was horrible. The air conditioners were up front and it took me 5 seconds to figure out which one I wanted, the 12,000 BTU model which cost $369. No one was there besides the man at the front entrance so I asked him if I could get someone to move it to the cash register and then my car. Someone came and placed it on an empty cash register because no one was at any of the registers. I had to again ask the man at the front kiosk to get someone to check me out. A very nice woman apologized and checked me out-which is the reason for the two stars. I still had to ask her to place the air conditioner in a cart and help me get it to the car. She found the same person who placed it on the register to do so, but he just placed it in a cart and walked away. I got it into my car by myself and it was heavy. In other words, the products are fine and I got what I needed, but all but the checkout woman provided horrible customer service. Im a regular customer who usually shops online, but I will be seriously looking elsewhere before doing so again.

Went in for a battery charger for my camera. It took me a long time to find someone to help assist me, and I am 9 months pregnant, clearly I needed help. They did not have the item in stock, he had no solution, so I asked if they could order it and send it - they can, (glad I thought of it for the worker) so the best buy worker ordered one and had it shipped to my house. Except he ordered the wrong item. He ordered me a battery instead of the charger... Which I had my battery in my hand in store in order to get the right item the first time .. When I called to fix the order the girl on the phone was no help at all. I tried to explain to her I got the wrong item ordered by her sales person and her response was "so whats your question"... Basically I will not be buying anything from best buy any time soon especially that location.
