I am actually bothered greatly by the grooming department. There is a male working there, I believe his name is "Chris" now I usually do not mention any names but the man was very anti social and borderline rude when making my appointment. When I came in for my appointment, he required me giving him the vaccinations for my dog. I have lived in three different places with my pet, could he have not told me over the phone? The problem with this is I didnt know in advance as I have been taking her to a Petco in California for almost two years, assuming they correlate information. Apparently not. During this time, he was completely unprofessional and what I find to be quite rude. A young lady, "Aalisah" I believe, she didnt even speak to me and I found her far more approachable than this man lacking in even miniscule customer service skills. When asked regarding my dogs rabies vaccination, I mention the address of the Petco where she received it. This guy had the gull to tell me it wasnt because Petco does not do that clinical service. To his surprise, after calling that location, they do it several times a week. I am astonished that such rudeness is applauded at this corporation. When leaving and asked for an eta, he told me 2-3 hours. I completely didnt understand. This has always taken 45 minutes to an hour. After they explained that they would work on my dog and then switch dogs and go back to my dog I left wondering why I made an appointment in the first place. I offered to go on the next day as well when my appointment was made but he assured me that Saturday was fine. Never will I return to any PETCO and give them my business. So sad after all these years, I need to find another grooming service.

They dont even deserve 1 star honestly. I took my Great Pyrenees here because she had a heat rash around her mouth so I wanted her to be fully groomed, haircut and bath soon and the rainbow location was fully booked for the week. The lady at the counter asked how we normally cut my dog, she didnt believe me so she called the other Petco that we normally go to on Rainbow and they told them the length. After the lady got off the phone she told me ya thats way too short we cant do that. So I told her if you cant go that short without messing up my Pyrenees undercoat then dont cut it that short Im okay with that. At that point she just repeated herself about not being able to go that low without messing up the undercoat. So I repeated myself again about not cutting her that short. At that point I shouldve just left with my pup but I gave them the benefit of a doubt. Finally got called 6hrs later to tell me she was done. Went and picked her up and she was shaved to where I could see her pink skin on certain areas of her body. Her undercoat is all messed up its growing back in different directions, some spots thicker than others. She was trembling and scared of the cashier lady when she pulled her out of the cage they left her in, I had to tell the lady to let her go and Ill get her myself because shes scared. All the groomers were gone and the cashier lady had to come over and get my dog out, they had left her in this room caged up all alone and once we got outside she was happier and I could tell they didnt take good care of her at all. I will never ever bring my pup back to this Petco at all. This was the worst experience with any groomer weve ever had.

I took my dog to this store to their "groomers". When I picked him up I asked the girls how he did and they all said he was fine. I took him home and he began to limp and not want to put much pressure on his front leg. Thinking he had hit it against something (we have wood floors and he slides all over) I thought that was the case. The next day he woke up in pain and on closer inspection I notice that one of his nails is almost hanging off and bleeding!!! I was VERY upset and when I called the store I was told "oh he was jumping on the cage and I noticed it was hanging almost like it was not attached anymore". HELLO! When I asked how he was they could have told me and I could have taken him to the vet right away, instead my dog was in pain. They are horrible and obviously not well trained. My advice to them is next time dont be scared to tell the customer the truth about what happened to a member of their family. For anyone thinking about taking their dog here, DONT!!!!

Please dont stop here if you dont support animal cruelty. There are thousands of poor creatures at these stores that are frozen to death in a freezer out back. They are neglected and arent provided any sort of care as they are just kept there until they die. Many creatures are just roaming around their cages with little to no food available and roam around in their feices because no one bothers to clean them. Any medical care isnt provided either and only the healthy or "cute" ones get to be treated with the proper care every creature deserves. Please please Im begging buy youre animals supplies in a place that doesnt sell animals such target or Walmart. Also many creatures are up for adoption so please try your best to adopt.

I love, love, love the grooming department. I have a three-legged German Shepard that is scared to death of tile floors, a hyperactive Great Dane mix puppy, and a tiny fuzzy terrier that has extreme social anxiety and pees on me when I take him. The grooming department always takes this zoo and gets them all calm and squared away. Ive never had any problem with the dogs freaking out or misbehaving while they are being groomed (a miracle in itself). And the staff is always super sweet and does a great job, I have yet to get a grooming job where I wasnt 100% satisfied, even with the all the time that goes into clipping up the terrier. Id recommend them to anyone with full confidence.

Went in as we just adopted a pit from the animal foundation and this store is close by. Although the staff was helpful with recommending products the entire experience was ruined by the on site dog trainer when we checked out. She asked what we were going to call the dog and when I replied, Bella she was extremely rude and went into a detailed explanation of why she thought this was a horrible name and what we should name her instead. I tried to be polite and end the conversation but she kept it up until we were out the second set of doors. Needless to say, should we decide to do training it will not be here.
