Went here a year ago since the optometrists were on my plan. Im not complicated. First they try to give me some specialized exam of my retina when I dont have any risk factors for retinal issues. I asked why and they tech only gave me a basic explanation. I then asked if my insurance covered it and the answer was "No". So you are gonna give me something unnecessary without asking and knowing that I would have to pay out of pocket? It was not expensive, but its the idea. If they did it to me, then they do it to everyone else. If it were shown that such an exam was preventative and useful, insurance would cover it. Naughty, naughty. I smell greedy owners. NEXT...this Pearle Vision as well as LensCrafters is owned by Luxottica. They own EVERYTHING. Why do think you are paying $300 for plastic frames made in another country? They have the market cornered. Example...They bought Ray-Ban years ago and took Wayfarers off the market when they sold for $50. They then paid celebrities lots and lots of money to wear them and guess what? They then re-released them at a price of around $100-150. Greed. The frame is plastic. The lens is the most important part and anyone can make those. So they will definitely overcharge you. $400-500 for a pair is pricey to me. Look up Luxottica COSTCO...brand name frame like Oakley and Armani and transition lenses costs around $200-250. Much better deal there and you can grab a hot dog, laptop, and free cracker samples as well. NEXT...BECAUSE I choose to get my contact lenses elsewhere knowing about their insane markups, my exam was not covered. Well...no one told me this. I do not recall a call or letter. Almost a year later, I am sent to COLLECTIONS. What!?!?! Score dropped about 20 points and now I have to push back the closing on my house. The total collections tab....a measly $50. In END...you are better served elsewhere . I really recommend COSTCO instead.

If I could give no stars, I would. I am very understanding and easy going. I took my daughter to Pearle Vision on Sahara, which is usually where we went annually. Unfortunately, her eye doctor moved ( we had no idea). We came in, the staff looked new. We were surprised to hear our doctor had moved. I gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and stayed positive. Anyway, we went in the room, the doctor came in, less than 5 minutes, it was done. No hello, welcome, or initial greeting. She came in with a side pony tail, braided, chewing GUM (couldnt believe her professionalism) and did not explain much...it was in and out. Next thing we knew, there was a need to purchase glasses for my daughter. Why? No real explanation, but one word: stigmatism. Our doctor prior to this didnt mention any of the problems such as stigmatism so ultimately, I was shocked. But ok, so I agreed. Went to buy a pair of really simple ones...cost was up $300. There, set and done...time to move on. Wrong. 3 weeks rolled by. I didnt call, I was trying to be patient. Then got a call from the girl who "took our order." She FORGOT to order it! Can you believe that, not me. Youd think Id be pissed. Nope. I said its ok, she said itll get here in a week. So now we are talking a month has strolled by, 300 dollars spent and no glasses. I called in, and they had no idea. Felt like I was talking to a pack of dum dum pops. Now Im pissed because the glasses were sitting there and no one THOUGHT of one bright idea to call the customer. So you have glasses sitting for weeks and no one cared to notice? RIDICULOUS! Now I have to drive to pick it up, which is a 30 min drive, not including traffic. People make mistakes, it happens, but everything from start to finish was just not right. Someone need to do something about the "chewing gum" eye doctor. Never again and I surely will not refer them. Such a disappointment after going there for 5 years.

Worst experience Ive ever had with any company. First, they tell me they dont know how my insurance works. I wait 30 minutes. They dont tell me anything. I go up and ask them if they figured it out. The girl tells me shes waiting for some unspecified person. I ask for the number, call the girl, she says my insurance has been verified for half an hour. Awesome start. I wait another 30 minutes to be called in. Wait forever for the doctor. In this time, it is clear that no one has any idea whats going on and are not communicating with each other in any way. I tell them I want contacts. They tell me I can have either contacts or glasses. I say I want glasses then. They come back and tell me Id be better off getting contacts since my insurance pays for a year supply. Awesome. I say give me those then. So to get contacts I have to learn to put them in. Fine. But some guy comes in and tells me I have ten minutes and then they have to schedule another appointment for me. Im pissed. Ive already been here for two hours and theyre kicking me out because THEY are slow. I ask him if I can just take my prescription and go. He says no. I have to do the try in. I get upset because Ive just wasted two hours and cant get a prescription. They let me finish. Get them in finally. I go to the front and the same guy tells me that the contacts will cost 164 bucks. I tell him that I was told they were covered. At this point Im furious because I told the girl it was the cost of the contacts that made me want the glasses and she told me they were covered. He tells me that the girls are new and its not his fault because he cant turn himself into five people. So I say fine, just let me pay for the exam. 54 bucks. They told me it was 34. Again, not his fault. Worst business ever.

I took my daughters here for an eye exam and glasses. The exam was okay but when it comes to glasses. This place is horrible. The quality is cheap cheap cheap. My daughters glasses broke in 1 week. Not due to misuse but due to a defect in my opinion. The arm of the glasses were not bent at all but the screw post snapped in half. The lenses did not fit well and kept falling out from just normal use. When I took the glasses back after 1 week I was told that there is not warranty on this and there is nothing they could do about it. Also my insurance covers standard lenses but they said I needed the more expensive poly carbonate. I was told that because my daughter was under 18 no one would give her the standard lenses that the insurance covers. This is a ploy to make an extra buck off of you because right down the street Vision Source the place with quality glasses did give me whatever my insurance covered. When I picked up my daughters glasses I paid $35 dollars cash. The lady that helped me was busy doing 10 other things and aparently never credited my account for the co- payment and now Pearl Vision expects me to pay them another $35. Well maybe if they had more honest employees that were not pocketing peoples co payments they would have that $35. Or maybe if they gave their customers individual attention instead of multi tasking to the point of which the customer feels ignored money would not go missing and maybe they can provide a quality product. My best advise is unless you have money to waste and want nothing to show for it. DON"T GO HERE!!!!!
