WATCH OUT FOR THESE GUYS. I bought an engagement ring that supposedly retailed for $29,000 and was told I could have it wholesale for $17,000. I thought I was getting a deal of a lifetime and believed I had the best ring money could buy. The ring was appraised and rated by the owner as a G in color and SI1 clarity. Unfortunately my engagement fell through and I took the ring to have it appraised by two independent gemologists. I was amazed when they told me that the ring was a K in color at best and only was worth about $2,000 dollars I was floored, I had put my whole life savings to buy the ring come to find out its worthless. The owner still swears that this ring is priceless, but everyone else seems to have the opposite opinion and anyone who looks at it thinks it’s a yellow diamond due to the visible yellow appearance. Obviously this is my first and last time I will ever purchase a diamond ring from anyone. If you are looking for a diamond please do not buy from these guys because you cant trust their quality and their rating system will not hold up to comparable standards anywhere. And if you try to sell it you will know all to well that you were duped. Most of the reviews on here have never had their jewelry appraised by an independent jeweler or gemologist and have no way of knowing the quality of jewelry their buying. Randy is very convincing but if you ask to return the jewelry hell laugh in your face and will refuse to give your money back. Those scams may work in Ozark Missouri but no where else. Also watch out he will switch out the stones overnight so you think your getting a good stone then find out your getting he lowest quality diamonds no one wants. If you dont believe it, try getting your diamond appraised by an independent gemologist and you will see. Do not be fooled!

After my first visit to Mitchum Jewelers, I called two close friends, texted another, and called my then boyfriend to rave about the experience. The staff was attentive, kind, friendly, and accommodating. Their selection is the jewelry that girls dream of. And now, my then boyfriend is my husband and I wear my Mitchum baubles every day. My husband and I both know that we have found not only a great jeweler, but our jeweler. Phenomenal care and attention are given from the moment you enter Mitchums until the time you go. The staff is atypical for a jewelry store. They are not overbearing, obnoxious, or obtrustive. They are quite the opposite, in fact. They are friendly and warm, patient and knowledgeable. The selection is simply beyond compare. Every gem, every jewel, every sparkle is extraordinary. So when you "know", when its time to pick the rings youll wear for the rest of your lives, or when its time to envelope an occasion in celebration or nostalgia, your experience with Mitchum Jewelers will be unmatched. When its time, you shouldnt find yourself anywhere else.

Randy at Mitchum recently helped my husband and I re-set my engagement ring into a beautiful Tacori setting. I had an idea of what I wanted but Randy listened and asked questions and ultimately showed me a ring that I probably wouldnt have picked out on my own and we fell in love with. He even offered to set my existing ring with a CZ stone while my diamond was being put into the new setting so I didnt have to be ringless while I waited. When we got the new ring my husband and I were floored. It was absolutely perfect and made my diamond look amazing. I would recommend Mitchum for any of your jewelry needs.

Best major purchase I have ever made! The staff is an absolute delight and very down to earth. I have to second Amadas review below. The staff, including the owner who has been in the store about every time I have gone in, are very caring and helpful rather than overbearing. They did a great job in showing me my options and then stood back to answer questions rather than standing over me and making me feel pressured or rushed. I dont shop often for jewelry but after my experience at Mitchum, I will be back next time I am in the market.

I cant say enough about Randy and his employees. They were extremely informative and kind to me as I began my hunt for the right engagement ring. They made it a point to educate me about the industry first and then why they are the best in their market (which after looking at other places during the process showed me that he wasnt yanking my chain). Ive had nothing but positive experiences with Mitchum Jewelers in the 13 years I have been going there. The staff is always polite and very knowledgeable, while the selection is unparalleled in the Springfield metro area. Randy Mitchum and his father John are the best in the business in my opinion! Also, their jewelers Aaron and Chris are extremely talented and creative when it comes to repairs and custom design pieces.

I dealt with Randy personally and there is no way he could have made the experience easier. I typically prefer to use local businesses over large companies anyway, but often find a price disparity that makes it hard to do so. In this case I not only was able to buy locally, but got a price BELOW that of other jewelers here and the internet. Anyone not giving Randy a chance to earn their business is making a large mistake.
