The only benefit of this place is location. If you need something quick it works other than that make the drive to Lowes at 135th n state line. Customer service is a joke here. Intelligence let alone product knowledge is not needed to attain a job here. Typically going to pay 15-20% more than the larger chains. A few weeks ago the "kid" working the paint counter literally said to a coworker atccustomer service desk "Im not helping anymore customers today after this lady" I was browsing in the paint isle behind him.. So after he helped the customer at the desk... he frigging left and went to customer service desk and sat down! Anyway... Very hard to get help here, limited in knowledgeable staff, prices are higher, slow lines, poor store management. Years ago... at least 10 years ago, the store was great.. its a shame management hasnt recognized the shortcomings of this store.

was in the Waldo Sutherlands yesterday waiting for keys to be made. This gave an opportunity to do some shopping. Found a ladies jacket but sizes were limited. A "manager" & employee were building a new display. I simply wanted to know if they had any more or would be getting more in the future. They obviously could not be bothered with me as I stood in front of them for several minutes waiting for them to finish their conversation. The "manager" finally said "what do you need"? When I asked about the jackets he promptly cut me off & said no more jackets -thats it. Not maybe another store.... many things could have been said except what do you need? Really? Just extremely rude. I will say the female customer service rep who made my keys & checked me out couldnt have been nicer. I think some of these guys could take an example of how to treat a customer service from her !

They gave me a receipt and told me to take a survey and a customer satisfaction survey and in exchange theyll give me a $10 store credit. I used the store credit on some plumbing parts the next day and the total came to like $20. Well I ended up getting the wrong parts and when I went to take them back they wouldnt refund the whole amount. In fact they wouldnt even give me back the whole price I paid less the discount! What is the point of them handing these things out if I cant use it and you wont let me return stuff!! Im done with them. Drive the extra mile and go to Home Depot.

I give it 5 just to balance the nonsense on this site. The 9-5 staff is very, very good - nights and weekend nights, sometimes you have to go looking for the guy/gal with a clue. They have about 80% of the stuff that a Home Depot has and the price is exactly the same. It is close, so no ridiculous drive back and forth with building materials. Paint Dept is truly great. Return policy is completely fair. Start there and then go up to a big box or down to a hardware if they dont have it.

If you want to wait a lot, look for ten minutes for help and when you get help, they dont know what youre asking, come here. The same thing has happened multiple times. Go somewhere where they know what theyre talking about. I dont like to write bad reviews, but Ive had three or four bad experiences here and its always the same.

Just bought a deck box for $89 at Sutherlands Waldo. What a piece of junk. There are no ribs, so no stability at all. Everything is the cheapest, thinest plastic that deforms as you try to put it together. I will be taking it back. They should be ashamed to be selling this at $30, let alone $89. Brand is Keter.

Very convenient when you cant make it to Hope Depot. The people are friendly and its clean enough and things are easy to find.. but when someone needs a board cut, why do they charge for that when Home Depot AND Lowes dont. That should be a convenience for the customer. Other than that, they are alright.

I went there for paint and all I had was a dried up can that had been in the garage for years. Apparently the formula thing had been damaged. They were able to match it perfectly and at a price better than the other big guys. They have helped me with many plumbing issues as well. Great neighborhood store.

The staff on Wornall are completely clueless and would rather talk to one another then help a customer. Also, why even have a kitchen design center...I had a $25K order and they never followed up with a final estimate after the design changed. I dont know how they stay employed and in business.

I give it 5. Stars because they are regional, knowledgeable, friendly and not a mega chain. Yes prices can be higher, and selection is leaner, but its worth it to know I can run down there in the middle of one of my hairbrained DIY projects and ask about anything and someone has an answer

Complete waste of my time. I called in, asking for a part, was told they have them so I headed over. When I got there the shelf was empty from the part I needed and some odd parts below that didnt help me. Go somewhere else for better service.

Prices are higher compared to Home Depot, they are usually out of what I am looking for half of the time. Lines are usually slow, but staff is always nice.

This store needs to be completely restaffed. If you need help they either ignore you cant be found. Im not going back. Plus, theyre overpriced.
