Thank you Brenda L. for making sure I will never step in Westlake again. Apparently they sell Craftsman tools but will not warranty them. Hello, you sell a lifetime warranty tool. If you are going to carry the Craftsman name you need to warranty out the tools. When I left the store and tried to call the store manager. The person that answered the phone was rude and wanted to know why I wanted to talk to the manager. Excuse me but thats none of her business. It was probably the same person I just had an issue with. I called their corporate office in Lenexa. I was told from the tool guy that if they didnt make the money the first time, they would not warranty them. Then gives me a song and dance how he will do me a favor and have one shipped to me. Dont bother! Correct me if I am wrong. You bring me a tool that is stocked in the store and is broken, I order a new one to restock the shelf and send the defective tool back, like they would be out a bunch of money. Most of the time that is what gets people in the store to begin with. Guess they dont want people in the store.

I went to get a key cut for my car. They said they could not cut the key if I didnt purchase from them. I went to buy a $40 key from them but when they went to cut it, their machine that programs it wasnt working. I asked if they could just cut it and i would program manually but they said they couldnt do that either (it was their assistant manager). They called the other store to see if their machine was working. they said it was and sent me to the Brighton store. I showed up and they tried to program as well but they said they couldnt either. They said my key wasnt able to be copied or programmed. I bought a blank key online for $9.99, took to a locksmith, they cut it within 30 seconds no questions asked and I programmed manually before I even left the parking lot. If you need a key cut, dont go to Ace. Dont understand why they couldnt cut a key that someone brings in even if you put a small fee with it.

Under staffed. I showed up at 2pm and asked the paint guy who was helping another customer if he could color match sample size paints. His answer was yes. Well 30 mins of waiting in line for him to finish the one customer, and by this time there were 3 or 4 people behind me, I finally get up to the counter and he here him radio for help. One employee walks over and starts talking about how she hates answering stupid questions than walks away without talking to anyone. by this time its 245pm, and all Ive accomplished was walking in and standing in line. At 250pm the guy behind the counter who is obviously flustered with the growing line, finally informs me he cant paint match sample size. So i left... about an hour of my time completely wasted. It was super frustrating. Needless to say I will never go back to weslake and just stick with home depo and lowes.

So for the first time Ever this happened. Im checking out with a furnace filter, faucet tube. Well the furnace filter didnt have a barcode on it the young kid looks at me and says that I can go grab another one. I walk over and all the basic dust 3m dont have bar codes so I grab another more expensive one. Head back to the register the kid suspended my transaction and sent me to another register to get back in line and go through the checkout process all over. Absolutely appalling customer service.

On upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely smile and helped us walk through the store to get our 4 to 5 items, she was very friendly and helpful, her name is Emily E. I asked her if I could tip her, she politely declined and said o could fill out this survey. And also she opened another lane and checked us out. And even recommend we fill out a rewards card, which we did. I want her to know we appreciated her kindness! THANK YOU EMILY E.

Have always had great customer service at this location. Employees are very freindly, and truly go the extra mile to assist in helping you find what you need. Have even had staff members readjust their order sizes to bring in more product to have on hand when they became aware I was buying more than their average supply. I had been driving to Kearney and Excelsior Springs to a competitor until I learned that Westlake carried the product.

Terrible customer service. Went in to buy a metal rod for my closet and needed it to be cut to the correct length and asked if they can do it in the store. The salesman reply was yes they just cut one before I got there and they are not going to cut another one. In the future just say no they dont cut them in the store. Dont say yes they just did but theyre not going to do it now. Taking my business elsewhere.

Smaller selection than big box options nearby, but *this specific* Ace has been very helpful with answering any questions I might have. Other stores (including other Westlake Ace locations) have typically met my questions with "uhh" or "let me go fine the _____ guy. "

Prices are high and selection is not great (good luck finding metric sockets of abnormal sizes, Sears had them). Staff is friendly but not very knowledgable on mechanical topics / applications. Would visit again out of convenience but not necessity.

Good little hardware store that you cant get lost in. You can always find some friendly help with just about any odd job you have. The only drawback is that their prices tend to be about 15-20% higher than the big box hardware stores...

Associates are usually helpful here, they especially know where to find stuff. The problem is, they are always out of stock on the stuff I need!
