After much research and visiting multiple tattoo shops in Jefferson County and the St. Louis area, (I was willing to travel for a good tattoo. I figured it was well worth my extra time to find the right place) a couple of friends told me to check out Diablo Ink and as luck would have it I certainly saved the best for last when it came to the right shop! I originally came in to get a cover-up. Cat took the time to talk to me about it where other shops turned up their noses and acted like I wasnt worth their time! Well, remember that scene in Pretty woman when Julia Roberts comes back to the clothing store... Shop assistant: Hello, can I help you? Vivian: I was in here yesterday, you wouldnt wait on me. Shop assistant: Oh. Vivian: You people work on commission, right? Shop assistant: Yeah. Vivian: Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now. Well, Diablo Ink has a forever customer in me and my family! Not only did Cat do an AMAZING cover up, she helped me with a memorial tattoo for my son who passed away. Her sketch made me cry and the tattoo is beautiful!! I get stopped constantly with people asking to see my tattoos and they want to know where I got them done!! Cat has hand drawn all of my tattoos they are all original works of art! I have a large piece that extends across my chest my shoulder and upper arm. We are currently working on a large piece that extends from the top of my foot to my knee. Cant wait to start the next project!! I have also witnessed the amazing work that Aaron does as well. They are both true artists! Diablo ink is a NO BS shop! Aaron and Cat will tell you the truth and they wont tattoo something that will look bad. They will help you to make the right decision and get whats going to look the best! Last but certainly not least, they are by far the cleanest shop I have ever set foot into! I highly recommend!!

I did not have any work done here nor will I. I am giving my review based on my first impression of visiting the shop. The shop was very clean and neat and the lady that greeted me was very friendly, after that is when it went down hill. I spoke with the actual artist regarding the small tattoo I wanted to touch up. The artist I spoke with seemed very pushy, as he kept telling me I could cover it up instead even after he knew I wanted it touched up. He kept saying, "or you could cover it up....or you could cover it up" in addition to walking away when I wasnt finished asking questions. In my opinion this was very rude and extremely pushy as he didnt seem to care that I did not want to cover it up at all. If he didnt want to do the work, he could have just said, I cant touch it up instead of repeating himself over and over to cover it up like I was dumb or like I couldnt understand him. Due to my experience with the pushy artist I will not get any work done there. Plus, its very expensive! I got a quote to do a smaller word and some stars as for $90 and $60 for the touchup when other shops have said around $40 or $50 for the word/stars and $40 for the touchup.

They were running a deal where you spend 100 bucks on a gift card an you get 25 for free. I dropped 400 bucks and set up an appointment a few months later. I took 2-3 trips up there which is a 30min or better drive. He told me to email him my ideas so I did. His first response was that the picks arent printable. So I looked up the pictures again on my computer and resent them in a file I knew would print. His second reply was theyre too small and once you blow them up they are pixelated. I told him I dont know what else to do other than come up there. An his very last reply was, "just come up tomorrow and Ill refund you the money back". For someone who brags about his work and being better than other artist I sure dont see the professionalism. I am very displeased with his attitude. I waited 3 years to get this next tattoo started and it took 3 emails for him to give up and lose business. Like the other comments on here...if youre not willing to budge on your feelings and opinion of a tattoo dont come here. Poor professionalism.

What a joke. I didnt come in for art, but even if I would of, it would of never got that far. Unhelpful arrogant peckkers would be putting it lightly. Not sure, but I think this place might breed this attitude in their artists. I met another artist from this place, removed to Washington, MO currently, and same attitude. I came in with my 4 10" wife, and the guy proceeds to talk to me like hes a prodigy, and Im a piece of dirt. If my wife hadnt been there Id of been half tempted to smack the guy in the teeth, and let the chips fall where they must. I would of took an butt whooping if need be. Do yourself the favor, and try another artist before giving this guy any credit. Im sorry, Im not normally this mad about another ego driven artist thinking his poop dont stink, they truly are everywhere, this guy just crawled beneath my skin, especially with my wife right there.

Diablo Ink is the only shop I have been to more than once, in fact I have over 50 hours of ink from this establishment. The level of courtesy, professionalism, knowledge, and skill held by both Aaron, Cat, members form the past, and the infrequent featured guest is for a lack of better terms, phenomenal! Both Cat and Aaron are straight shooters, tell it like it is, and will never steer you in the wrong direction. Any professional artists time is valuable so my advice is if you are going to shop around know what it is you want or have some idea, be courteous and polite and if you need a good portion of someones time have the courtesy to at least call and set up a time where you can sit down with them and work on it is what you want. Hands down, life long customer so long as one or both of them are still there!!!

I am afraid Bunny is not used to dealing with reputable artists. There is a protocol (whether dealing with sketch, paint, tattoo, or any creative medium artist). I am sure there are places that would accommodate the instant gratification needs of Bunny. But, of course, you get what you pay for! The work done at Diablo Ink so far surpasses the everyday norm; I sort of feel sorry for Bunny. Had she been more understanding and educated (checking the site fully for information); she would have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of work. Not to mention the CUSTOM, ONE OF A KIND, work. I ALWAYS refer friends, associates, etc. to Diablo Ink. You wont be sorry.

In St Louis I believe this is 2 of the best artists around. Do not be fooled and think that just because the place is flashy big or has a featured artist on TV news, etc they are really good on your body. It takes serious skill to do tattoos, I went here to have one of mine fixed after falling for the above two things and getting a crappy tat and a crappy fix. Aaron is a NO NONSENSE business owner so if you are going to him to get a tattoo -DO NOT WASTE HIS OR KATS TIME. If you realize his time is not free and show up as scheduled you will have an amazing tattoo to show off for the rest of your life.
