The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. I have had quite a bit of work done at the shop and I have not been disappointed, yet. I went in with a general concept and was blown away beyond my expectations as to what the artist came up with. Giving an artist free range with just a few specific concepts and letting them take control and have free range, I admit can be a little risky, especially if you dont know the artist that well or vice versa but you have to understand that this IS what they do for a living! If you do not like something they have come up with or want to tweek it a little bit they are 100% cool with it. I have had work done other places and when I have piped up and expressed my dislike for something, I have received attitude from an artist. You will NOT get that at StL Tattoo Co! They ARE NOT egotistical and understand as much as you do that this is PERMANENT and, they will make sure youwalk out of there loving your new piece! Like I said, tattoos ARE permanent. They will steer you in the right direction as to what will look best on your body from your design when it comes to size and detail. All of the artists are top notch and I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed with whomever you choose!!! The owners have a great group of artists in the shop as well as piercers. I am still so pleased with my artwork and smile everyday when I look at it because it delights me immensely how vibrant the colors are and how beautiful my tattoo is!

Dont know about their work, only their customer service, and I was less than impressed. Called beforehand and asked if they take walk-ins. The guy who answered the phone acted like it was his first day and didnt seem to be able to answer the question. I assume he set the phone down and went to check (I though he had hung up on me, because he didnt say anything after I asked about walk-ins.) After he got back on the phone, he told me that they did take walk-ins and that I was welcome to stop in and see if they could fit me in. I arrived about 20 minutes later and 2.5 hrs before the shop was supposed to close. I walked up to the counter and inquired if it would be possible to get a tattoo that evening without an appointment. It took the guy at the counter 3 minutes of him standing there (he never went to check with any of the artists), for him to tell me no. His actual response was, "Well, I dont know. Maybe. Well, what did you want done? (I show him, nothing elaborate.) Repeated himself again about not knowing. Said the same thing about not knowing, a couple times in a couple different ways. I have six tattoos, all from a different shop in the area, but am all for supporting different local businesses. So I thought I would give this shop a try. Wasted over a hour of my time and couldnt give me a straight answer at the counter, and didnt even check with an artist. Clearly didnt want my money, so I will stick with a place where they do.

I emailed Kyle and then went into the shop with a picture of my father. I had done alot of research on artists in the st. louis area & was impressed with Kyles work. We talked about how what I wanted. I wanted a portrait and looking at the picture Kyle recommended color. I made an apt. to get the tattoo. Kyle had a great stencil and the shop was clean and everyone was awesome. The work took three hours. When he finished I went to look at my tattoo in the mirror. I feel bad because I dont know if I expressed how good it was. But I was blown away. The tattoo is awesome. The other artists in the shop were also very impressed. When I came home my wife asked to see it (she is a CPA that goes to art school at night). She was also impressed with the sheer artistry of the tattoo. What can I say, if you are thinking about a tattoo, this is the place to go.

I went to STL Tattoo company based on the recommendations from some friends and they did a great job on my sisters nose piercing. It was my first tattoo and I was extremely nervous( its an Afghanistan Deployment tattoo so it meant a lot) The Artist James was extremely patient and helpful when it came to bringing my tattoo idea to life, he used real pictures to draw it up (he didnt want to look at other peoples tattoos, he wanted mine to be original), and when I was ready he got me in as soon as he could and made the process as comfortable and least painful as possible. After all this he gave me a great price and a lot of great insight on tattoo aftercare. I would recommend them to anyone and I will only be going to STL Tattoo Company for all my future tattoos. **My profile picture is the tattoo, feel free to check it out!**

Went to the shop recently for a tattoo with House and also coordinated with Joshua for another design and appts. Everyone was super helpful and friendly, and the shop had such a great vibe…clean, laid back, welcoming. Of the tattoos I have (from 4 other shops), my experience at this shop was by far the best. I also think of my tattoos this one is the best quality…it wasn’t painful, it’s healing great and looks awesome. And the price was very reasonable too. Honestly a bargain for the talent and experience. Not only are these guys crazy talented but they run a great shop too. The whole process was easy and comfortable and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend the shop in general and House as an artist. Already planning my next trip.

I am a 10 year Breast Cancer Survivor and last month I went in and James Rogers created the Breast cancer flag with Survivor on my left side, it looks so amazing as he made it look 3-D so it looks like it is coming off my chest. James and I spoke about my right breast and how I had skin graph done and didnt look good at all, James matched my left side and created a 3-D nipple and areolas on my right breast. It looks so real and matches my left side, he is SO FREAKING AMAZING and is my Guardian Angel as I know feel good about myself and not embarrass anymore. I will be recommending James Rogers for years to come, he is the best and will be providing his business cards to my Cancer Dr. next month.

Today my husband and I went in off the streets for a tattoos and couldnt of been happier with our experience. James was our tattoo artist and he was AWESOME. He explained everything that could happen over the years with the placement of our tattoos as well as helping us choose a font that wouldnt end up being unreadable and we got older and our skin changed. James was very proffessional and awesome to have do our work, extremely friendly and we couldnt be happier with how our tattoos turned out. The shop itself is immaculate. Every station is clean and very well organized. James I cant say enough how happy we are with the work that you did. thank you guys so much.
