I was at Shuang Hur yesterday inquiring on prices for the different size rice cookers. I intentionally went there to get the 3-cup rice cooker for my son and his wife as they said they wanted a tiny one only. A family had mentioned that Shuang Hur may carry 3-cup rice cookers. While there, an employee was giving me the prices (3-cup for $89, 4-cup for $99, 5-cup for $105), I decided to ask about the 8-cup. He said the 8-cup was $108 - puzzled by the tiny difference from the 5-cup, I asked him to clarify - because why not spend more on a bigger rice cooker if in fact it was not much more in price. After all, we come from large families with many friends that we dont know when a bigger rice cooker would come in handy. The employee then told me "the prices change every day." Suddenly, without notice, an elderly man (must be the owner), shouted at me from behind to "GET OUT!" I was confused. He asked me, "you buy right now?!" I responded "no..." and, before I could finish, he proceed to tell me to "get out right now." He told me numerous times to leave, and then I explained to him that I was trying to compare the prices of the different size rice cookers so my family can come back this weekend to choose one. He quickly apologized when he heard me say I had plan on coming back this weekend, but then proceeded to tell me if Im not buying then for me to "get out." Obviously, at this point, I am not pleased with how rude he was being and told him I will NOT be returning. He laughed and said he has the best prices anyway. Well Shuang Hur, honestly, I am not much of a bargain buyer - I shop at places that provides good service. I would rather spend MORE MONEY elsewhere that are polite to customers and appreciates business. I am a local and shop at Asian Markets weekly. So Shuang Hur, aside from your rude treatment, your place is also filthy! You will never receive my business ever again as well as from my many friends and families. ZERO stars for you!

best Asian supermarket around. I dont understand what people are talking about just leaving a rating or giving them a 1* because of customer service. Review should be looked at in a variety of categories. Price: 5 star, the cheapest in town, and if they cant beat it they will match prices. Selection: 5 star whatever I am making I can find the ingredients here...no need to shop around. Plus if you are looking for a specific item ASK they can help you order it or find an alternative! Convenience: 5 star the only place that is open 7 days a week and almost all holidays. Service: 5 star, yes there are many people working in this supermarket, but they are extremely helpful. Not everyone there is going to know everything, but again just ask or speak to Sam or Thomas, those guys are amazing. Overall: 5 star, best grocery store in Saint Paul and Minneapolis oh and if you are an Amex card holder, partake in the small business Saturday and support your localsmall businesses like Shuang Hur

Neighborhood shop with great prices on staples, vegetables, and imported products. One of my favorite places to shop. Lots of price variation here, some things are super cheap, while other things seem overpriced. If I want to buy noodles, curry paste, sauces, green vegetables, seafood, rice, beans, etc, this is where I go. Quality is hit and miss. Know what you are buying. Ive had some awful tomatoes from this place. No wonder they are so cheap! Ive also had some of the best curry paste Ive ever tried, at prices an order of magnitude cheaper than your local Cub, or god forbid, kowalskis or whole foods. They also carry some Mexican foods such as a variety of dried chilies, etc. Moral of the story: They have some great deals on great foods here, especially for things that big box stores will not carry. Its a great place to shop cheap & vegetarian.

Enjoy shopping at Shuang Hur, convenient, in the Dale street area of St Paul. They have everything you might need or want for Asian / Oriental cooking. Have made Buligogi many times with ingredients from this store. They have a well stocked selection of fresh meats, seafood, beef strips for Stir Fry. Great selection of vegetables. All kinds of neat snacks, like Mochi, Soft flower cake, An abundant supply and variety of Roman soup, noodles. FF IDWIDW, JML, Nong Shim. Everything you need for making Sushi, Nori/Seawead paper, Wasabi, Avocados, Sushi short grain rice. They also carry several Sushi rolling mats, Small and large bowls, traditional soup spoons, pots , pans. You can also buy rice in bulk, from huge bags in the front of the store. Friendly people, if I have a question I will ask , they are very attentive to show me where something is.

worst experience ever as a first time customer to visit this place. . came all the way from Wisconsin to visit family who live just two block away and bought some instant noodle but was denied for sales price because I was just buying noodles.. the owner said I must buy "all" of the stuff in the store to get my instant noodle for the sales price.. what kind of b.s is this? never again will I ever step foot in this shitty place. . also i will be filing a complaint!

Im not sure what all the hype is about this place but I will never return again. Boxes laid out every where with little to no room for carts to go thru. Workers with electric jacks zooming thru the aisles. The lines are so long that there is no room to form a line at all. Grocery and everything else is ok... you can get them at other Asian Supermarkets without the hassle. Btw, parking lot sucks.

Your place to get the Asian items. The parking here is limited so expect to go round and round to get a space if you come on the weekends. The vegetables here are pre-packed so you wont have a choice to pick what you want like Sun Food. If you cant stand the smell then stay away from the meat and seafood area.

Great place!! Although at busy times, parking sucks a$$. But what can they do, its on University. Id rather go here than Sun Foods or Dragon Star. Food prices are less. Service is pretty descent. You dont even have to take your food out of the cart. Theyll ring you up right from the cart to bagging for you.

As expected from an oriental store, it smells like fish in there, but dont let the fishy smell fool you, Shuang Hur supermarket has amazing variety of Asian food and snacks for very reasonable prices. This is now my go-to supermarket (Im an international student), just take bus 16 down University Avenue.

There are so many Asian markets and yet I cant get all of the same items in one place like I did in the small town of Fargo. This place does have a great selection and prices on meat and seafood. I just wish they had more cooking supplies like tamari and this one egg roll sauce.

Check out lane are always at face pace unlike some other shop thst doesnt have enough cashier to check out customer. Parking lot can get jam pack at certain hours mainly late afternoon during weekends. Prices is always at its lowest compare to its other competitors.
