I suppose the saying is true, "You get what you pay for". At least in the case of the Aldis on University avenue. You can save a few bucks on groceries, however , you have to deal with some of rudest, most ignorant staff ever. More than half the time, the cashiers wont even greet you. Most of the time they are too busy yelling back and forth to each other to even pay any attention to what is going on. My most recent trip, I had the misfortune of having a "lady" by the name of Shauntana working at the line I checked out at. When it was my turn, I got some sort of a grunting noise, which I thing meant "Hello" , but Then again, who knows. Then she started yelling to the cashier in the next line and they went back and forth complaint about their "babies daddies". Then Shauntana had an attitude because I guess I wasnt bagging my groceries fast enough for her, since I had only purchased a few things and didnt get a cart. Then God forbid you ask one of them a question, they look at you like are really putting putting a burden them. I get it, you are all miserable. You probably didnt even graduate from high school. You have between 3-10 kids by multiple guys, none of which take care of their kids. The county probably took away your welfare which forced you to get a job you absolutely hate, or its just the idea of having to work for a living to support you and your multiple kids that you abhor. You feel life has dealt you a bum hand, Well, suck it up butter cup! No one owes you anything Then the morbidly obese "security guard" is another story. She always has an attitude. The only, and I mean THE ONLY, Individual who actually acts in a professional and courteous manner is a gentleman named Joe. I actually had to tell him once how much I appreciate his positive attitude. The rest of them that work there however, arent worth a nickel.

I love Aldi. We shop here enough that a lot of the cashiers know us and it gives the store a neighborhood feel. You cant get everything at Aldi, but we do the majority of our shopping here and save a ton of money. When shopping for produce you cant go in with a list of what you need. Its better to just pick out what looks good that day. The only complaint I have is the parking lot is a disaster. I see people/cars almost getting hit every time I go. My tip is to park as far away from the store as possible to avoid the majority of the parking lot traffic.

Parking can be a bit of a nightmare in their small and narrow lot, but the prices absolutely cant be beat. I save almost half over other grocery stores. It is smaller than most grocery stores, so if you are looking for something overly specific, you may not find it. But the quality of their foods, especially produce and frozen foods, just cant be beat for the price! Give it a couple tries to get used to it. If youve never been to an aldi before, youre first time can be overwhelming. Bring a quarter and your own bags!

Food Importer!! Please watch the labels when you shop here and search online for warnings. There are many countries that we import food from that have very low quality control standards. People have gotten very sick from imported foods and the bigger issue is that the contaminants dont have immediate effects on people. Some countries are perfectly ok for us to import foods from but keep an eye out. What we eat is important to our long term health as individuals and as a country.

We have been to about 5 or 6 different ALDIs and they all have great people working for them. The fastest checkouts Id seen. The food is top notch at a great price. We dont buy all our food there, maybe half because of the limited items. We always save money going there. The people who shop there are always nice too. My favorite store to shop at. Thanks to my daughter for turning me on to ALDI. This store I go to all the time.

Some of the Cashiers are very discriminatory against people there are not patient and they seem to be always in a hurry to get you in and out which i can understand that, but as a cashier your working as a PROFESSIONAL PROFITABLE CASHIER you need customers and you want business so at least act like you like your job or dont work as a cashier if your gonna do your job as PROFESSIONAL!!!!

I shop for everything here except fresh meat. The quality is great, its way cheaper than anywhere else, the produce is the same as other stores just way cheaper, and I can get my whole weeks worth for under $60. The store is clean and the staff are helpful. Bring a quarter and get a cart, you get the quarter back. And dont forget some bags. Great shopping.

I have been going to this Aldis location for nearly a year. They have a very friendly staff and have just about everything I need. As previous reviewers state they do not carry everything. They do carry enough to get 99% of your groceries there. The dont have any name-brand items, but I find what they do have is better then the name brands.

I love Aldi. The prices are the lowest in the Twin Cities and Ive been very happy with the produce, chips, salad greens, bread, almond milk, and everything else I buy there. I also like the speedy checkouts. There are still things I need to get elsewhere because they dont carry everything, but Im ok with that.

The prices are great. Different inventory seasonally (like .59 cent pomegranates in season), European chocolate, excellent cheeses. The basics, like eggs, bacon, veggies are really inexpensive and fresh. We always save (as compared to other stores) on kefir, yogurt, Turkey. Love aldi

Prices are good, not alot of selection but what pissed me off was there was no potato mixes... All they had was potato soup (yuck) & fries. My dentist did not want me eating hard foods ,so went there in search for soft foods that I could eat. Extremely disappointed.

Overall the chain of Aldi Stores are great! This one is ok. Not too bad. I like the Aldi store on White Bear Ave better. It seems Aldi as a whole has changed some of their merchandise like they dont sell Grapefruit Juice anymore or Catfish fillet.

I love Aldi, thus the five star rating, but this particular location is not good. The parking lot couldnt be more cramped, the store isnt as clean as others, and theres always a security guard on duty, which is not usually a good sign.

The only thing that Ive notices, that dont set well with me is the woman Precious, when Im standing in line waiting my turn I see her get a bit disrespectful with customers. Other then that I like Aldi.

Great selection at even better prices, however when I went (after work, early evening time) check out lines were incredibly long with only a few registers open, thus a long wait time and crowded store.
