Ive shopped at Rouses stores in Houma, Metairie, Mandeville and for the past year, Youngsville. The Youngsville store has, by far, the worst customer service of all of the Rouses stores that Ive shopped. My experience today is representative of what commonly occurs when I shop there. While checking out, the young female cashier was having a conversation with the young man who was putting my purchases in plastic bags. The conversation was meaningless, but it took priority over the customer. Both were moving at a snails pace. Neither of them were paying attention to the customer. I didnt say anything and completed the transaction and went to my vehicle to unload the bags. Once there, I found that of the NINETEEN plastic bags that were in my basket, 16 of them had only one item packed inside. Two bags had two items and one bag had three. Like most shoppers, I dont collect these bags and, like our environment, I would like as few of them as possible. But, the final straw - the reason that Im writing the first review that Ive ever written in my life - was that the moron bag boy actually tied one of the plastic bags to the side of the basket. I had to rip the bag apart because the knot was too tight to untie. I dont think Im the only customer who doesnt enjoy wasting time in your parking lot with such stupidity. I want to spend my money with a Louisiana company where some of my money will stay in our states economy, but Rouses is making me question that philosophy. I never thought Id say this, but the staff at Walmart is better trained and much more professional.

This is supposed to be a locally owned and operated business. We did support rouses because of this. However we found out today that rouses does not support other locally owned and operated small businesses. I will never support these hypocrites ever again. I will make sure that every small business owner in Youngsville knows how they practice business.

We absolutely love your stores; however about 2 weeks ago, we bought 14 pounds of boiled crawfish from your store, and they were so muddy and dirty we were shocked and had to clean them to eat them. We were very disappointed, so I definitely would not recommend your store for crawfish. I knew you would want to know so you can do better. Thanks.

Bakery is great. Customer service could use some work. Always only 1 or 2 registers open. Moves really slow. When a new register opens, they dont take the next person in line, they take the last person in line...have been here early and no one could run the register for you to check out. Lots of employees around but not very helpful

Rouses is the closest full size grocery store closest to me. They always have fresh produce, good sales, and the cashiers are always very friendly. Never have to wait in line, someone is usually there to help bag your groceries for you while checking out, which is very convenient. Also the gentilly cupcakes in the bakery are awesome!

Fresh seafood available all the time. Excellent choice of meats. Helpful staff. Management will address any issues promptly. Great selection of all grocery item, fresh fruits and vegetables. Sushi available and made in-house. Delhi with hot lunches available. Clean restrooms. A nice place to shop.

This place is great! They carry boars head cold cuts!!! Being from NY i always had that brand of cold cuts and they are the top of the line! They even carry a cheese from cyprus that is awesome! The people are always friendly and the store is always clean and fully stocked!!

The bakery department puts new stickers on the cake boxes to extend the sell by date, which I found disgusting. I dont really shop here, only for urgency, Walmart/Costco is way better. All the prices on goods are jacked 15-20% and then amazingly marked down 5%. Lolwut?

I shop here often and have had mostly positive experiences. Check your seafood for freshness if you are buying "premium" items (sea bass, etc.), as they tend to order these items in quantities that are too large to sell quickly. Deli staff are top notch

Louisiana owned supermarket. It really is like a very big specialty food shop. It has great cheese, meats, sea food, spirits, and other regional fare selections. Check it out and do not assume it is a faceless mega-market.
