When I first started as an employee at Luckypets in November of 2015, things were a bit shakey. There were a few things wrong such as a lack of attention to the dogs and lack of knowledge of how to take care of them. There ended up being a change in management, and through that, the employees were able to redevelop a system that not only took care of the pups, but also kept a safe and clean environment. Within a few months, Luckypets was under official new management. An outside hire who had no experience with dogs, and no idea how to run a boarding facility. Since her employment: Dogs dont go outside Employees who loved their jobs quit A huge case of Kennel Cough was covered up Many dogs have been asked not to come back Animals arent being loved the way they should The employees have no experience Animals arent being put as number one PLEASE READ THIS STORY IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW LUCKY PETS HANDLES DOGS!! As a former employee, I grew to love many of the dogs I took care of. There is one in particular I fell in love with. He was a beautiful American Bulldog named Burger. He was a big boy, shy towards men, and nervous. When he first came to Luckypets we were told of his quirks. I (being a 62, 220 lb male) worked with Burger every day he was there. Burger went from being a shy, no group dog, to being allowed to play in group with other dogs, and begging for attention from all the staff. He was the sweetest boy, and a huge lover. The new manager who came in didnt like Burger, she never gave him a chance. Decided he was mean and scary from the beginning. With her lack of experience with dogs, she shut Burger away in a new kennel. Even though he had a permanent kennel, that we always moved other dogs around to make him comfortable. He was scared and nervous due to his new cell. He wasnt used to the area, or the lack of interaction with people. Because he was afraid and nervous, he bit at (never making contact) the manager, an employee, and a "certified" dog trainer. Instead of working with Burger, and trying to show him love and make his life a number 1 priority, he was sent home as a dangerous dog. As of 2 days ago, poor Burger is now in doggy heaven. This big lover of a dog was put down because Luckypets didnt know how to help him, work with him, and take care of him. I personally worked with Burger for 6 months. He showed nothing but improvement, and love. I will never take my pets there, or will I support their business. They have pushed away dogs, and now have a Little fur babies life on their hands. RIP Burger, I hope none of you have to go through the same pain another family has.

Before I start, I want to make it known that I was not asked to write this review. I have worked here for the last 3 months. I understand that may not seem like a long time and you are probably thinking that Im just a biased employee who wants to make her employer look good. This is not the case. Heres a little background about me. I LOVE animals. Ever since I was little, Ive wanted to live on a farm and own horses, dogs, cats, goats, you name it. About a year ago, I volunteered with a rescue group named Ruff Start Rescue. Since then, Ive driven down to Texas twice to rescue dogs from the Harris County Humane Society and transported them back up here to give them the loving homes they all deserve. I was looking for a new job when one of the boarding members approached me and told me about Lucky Pets! Amazing staff and I get to spend my day with dogs and cats?! What more could i want! I have nothing but love and compassion for not only animals but for people as well. When owners drop their dogs off at Lucky Pets, they are given all the love and attention they could want. We truly treat these fur babies as if they were our own. Your fur babies will get between 4-8 hours of interactive play time with the other dogs and the staff. We understand that owners are busy and tired at the end of the day so we do everything we can to make sure they are just as worn out as you are at pickup. A tired dog is a happy dog! :) I am very proud of the new management and what has been set in stone since shes been here. We now have artificial grass in our Pee Park which has been an amazing asset this winter while our Play Parks are temporarily out of order due to the snow and wanting to keep the babies as warm and comfortable as possible. We also have a new trainer/assistant manager who has already had a HUGE impact on the atmosphere of the company. Hes literally an animal whisperer. There are many great things to come and I couldnt be more excited for this company! If you ever have any questions, dont hesitate to ask any of the wonderful boarding or retail staff we have. Were always willing to give a tour and listen to any concerns you may have and do what we can to make sure you have the best experience possible!

I have a 5 month old puppy and needed to board for a night. My dog is up to date on shots per Lucky Pets requirements and the only thing I needed to do to schedule a stay was have an assessment performed with the trainer. I called on a Monday morning and was told the trainer would be there and had availability at 2 PM. When I arrived I asked for the trainer and replayed my conversation to the individuals at the front desk. They said the trainer had gone home for the day and that they would call him and find out his schedule the rest of the week and call me back. I was a little put out, but it was not far from home so I rolled with it. I did not receive a call back so I called again on Tuesday and got a hold of the retail manager, Maddie who had helped me the day prior. She said she did not speak to the trainer yet but would pull out his schedule. After a few minutes of flipping though to find the proper calendar we determined he was in Wednesday from 2-8. I made an appt for 3:00. At this point I was not feeling overly confident in this place. I posted a note on facebook asking for referrals from friends or a positive review from anyone I trust that used Lucky Pets. I did not receive any positive testimonials for Lucky Pets, but did receive a stern warning from a very good friend based on a past experience. Needless to say I did not show up on Wednesday and I did not receive a call from anyone asking why I had missed the appt. I did not even get to the point of using their services so I could review them but based on my small amount of communication with the staff and my gut feeling I decided against using their services. I recommend making your own decision or asking friends, family, vet for referrals. The location of Lucky Pets is convenient so I hope they can get things turned around and understand customer service as well as the fact that people are basically dropping their "fur babies" off with someone they need full trust in.
