Gee, I havent been to the store. Now I wont bother. Sorry to say, but it seems like the owner has a FULL time job responding to complaints and taking stress tabs! I hope the owner does A LOT more than just pass info onto customer service to let them "deal with issues". Being OWNER, first of all means KNOWING WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE REALLY IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laying down GROUND RULES of TRUE customer service. I would NEVER respond to a customer with "contact c/s and I will personally set you up with a sales rep that will give you the best service"!!! R U SERIOUSLY SERIOUS??? EVERY SALES REP SHOULD BE GIVING EVERY CUSTOMER THE BEST SERVICE! WHY WOULD YOU HIRE SOMEONE WHO WOULDNT? YOUR SALES REPS DONT PAY YOUR BILLS, YOUR CUSTOMERS DO! I have a feeling that there are MANY unemployed people out there who truly know what customer service is and are willing to step in and take care of your customers THE RIGHT WAY! I have gone to some awesome seminars through Skillpath. Its a great way to improve c/s skills for owners and employees alike. (I have no affiliations with them) Owner of American Freight, I sure wish you well in laying down the rules for ALL vs. SOME employees (whom u direct those customers to that got the "Bad rep"!), hiring people who HAVE excellent c/s skills to begin with, GETTING RID OF those who dont, CHANGING YOUR RETURN POLICY TO REFLECT EXCELLENT C/S vs. selling lame insurance and making the customer "file a claim" AND adjusting your prices to MATCH STORE LOCATIONS. Come on, price differences between Burnsville and Roseville? Serious? Stand up FOR your customers, not TO your customers!! Youll have a lot more fun replying to HAPPY, REPEAT CUSTOMERS. I sure hope so, anyway. ;) Be the man(or woman)! Oh yeah, buy decent furniture that YOU would be proud to have in YOUR home. Ill come check out those great deals ya got going on if I see a TRUE reversal from negative to positive comments. Btw, I rated three stars b/c at least people are seeing a response from the owner ...or whoever is writing them. ~Yvonne

Look further than just this review format before spending money here. their reputation is not good. I could write a book about my experience but I dont read those and I assume you probably dont either. So here is the basic points. The quality of the items they sell is lower than low. If you have any kind of issue with something you buy they will provide no customer service. In fact they may even treat you poorly as they did me. Notice the policy on the wall! It says "all sales are final". Its easy to miss that but if you have any issues you will have it pointed out to you over and over again. In the end I actually threw my furniture in the garbage instead of using it. No store credit, no refund, just threw it away. That is a first for me!! Think about why a store these days has an "all sales are final" policy. We as shoppers are accustomed to stores that probably are too giving with returns. When was the last time you bought an item that legitimately needed to be refunded and the store told you no? At AFFM they will simply point to the sign. Taking your issue up the management chain gets you no where. It almost seems the higher u[p the management chain you go the poorer they treat you. Why would you buy from a store with such a policy when almost ANYWHERE else you go will stand behind what they sell? Why wont AFFM stand behind what they sell? My guess is because they know the quality they are dealing in. So are the prices so low its worth the gamble. NO! There are so many options. AFFM really tries to get top dollar very low end stuff. It seems cheap because the quality is SO LOW! I am sure if we knew how little they were paying for this stuff we would see that. Throwing away decent sized purchase I just made within the last month taught me an expensive yet valuable lesson: If they wont stand behind what they sell shop elsewhere!!

I wish I would have read the reviews before putting any money into this store. My boyfriend and I are new homeowners so we were so excited to find a sectional with an ottoman and matching chair for such a great price. The staff was very friendly which made us even more excited. We put a down payment of $300 on our set, then we were going to pay the rest when we went to go pick it up. As we got back to our home, an hour and a half away, we started measuring and looking at how it would fit in our living room, and it wasnt working like we thought it would. We were very bummed to have to call the next day and cancel. When we asked about the refund they said we would have to come and get it within the 10 days of us putting the money down or we would not be refunded. Needless to say we have jobs that would not allow us to take the time off to drive up there on such short notice. We asked if they could send it to us via mail, and they said they couldnt for whatever ridiculous reason that may be. We managed to get the day off to go pick up our refund, then customer service called saying that they cant give us cash back and they have to send a check to the store, then we would still have to pick it up, but in about 3-4 weeks now. Very frustrated I complained to a very nice lady named Kelly via email at their customer service address and she handled everything very professionally as I was not. She says they are emailing us our refund to our home address and we will not have to be taking any work off to go pick up our money. If anyone has any difficulties with this company I highly suggest talking to Kelly in customer service. She is very helpful. After reading all the reviews, and my own experience I am very happy we decided not to go through with our purchase.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I went into this store in Roseville, MN to buy a brown leather sectional sofa with two arms. There was one that I wanted but the price was a little high for me. The guy, the inventory manager, who was showing me around said that there was an error and that the sofa that I want was actually $100 cheaper. So I bought it and two weeks later picked up the couch only to discover that he ordered me the wrong couch. I called in and talked to him about his error. He was so rude to me from the start of the conversation. He told me that he was correct about his order and that the name of the couch on our receipt was the one I wanted from the store. He also told me that the one that I wanted was $100 more expensive than the one ordered. This was so contradictory because when I was at the store, I made sure to let him know that I wanted a sectional sofa with TWO arms and POINTED and SHOWED him the one I wanted. Overall, he said it was my fault that he ordered the wrong couch. I was so appalled by this and was so upset. I despised the couch that was ordered and asked for a refund if i cant get it swapped for the couch that I want for the same price because of his mistakes. He shot this down and didnt offer any more solutions. I was so mad that I couldnt do anything to get my money back. I then talked to the store manager and she was able to make the swap for me at no extra charge, which I was extremely grateful for. However, due to my experience with the inventory manager, Ill never shop at American Freight again. Ill also make sure my friends and family know of my experience at American Freight so that they can approach this store with caution.
