I switched to Maple Grove Eye Clinic (40 min drive) from the my local eye clinic (5 mins away) so this became a test of whether the experience at Maple Grove was worth the drive. My main issue with the old clinic was a stubborn know-it-all who dealt with selling glasses. Since I cannot wear contacts, this is a very important part of what I look for in an eye clinic. Like some of the other reviews have stated, the experience with phone reception is not the greatest and could use improvement. Beyond that, my experience with the rest of the staff was great. During my initial visit I was welcomed and treated very well by the person who ran me through the tests prior to seeing the doctor (Marlene). The doctor seemed very knowledgeable/experienced and took the time to answer a lot of questions and explain things I didnt really understand about my condition. His prescription seemed spot-on and solved some issues with the prescription I got from my local clinic the year before. One of the reasons I decided to try this clinic was my initial phone conversation with a person named Roosevelt who deals with glasses. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of glasses, one of his specialties being prescription sunglasses. He also has a helpful, positive attitude that is the complete opposite of the person at the clinic I went to previously. He did a really good job of explaining all my options, helping me pick out the right frames and lenses, and making sure I got what I needed on a timely basis. There were a few problems with the lab along the way but he always took responsibility for making things right so, in the end, I got exactly what I needed. I would recommend this clinic to others.

Very expensive fees and product. We were told that anti reflective coating was included in our insurance coverage so my wife took it. When it was time to pay we were confused about the total bill so we asked for an explanation. We were then told that the coating was not covered so we agreed on a refund. The next day they called us and told us they could not cancel the coating process. We got the refund 15mins after the appointment. They then told us we would have to pay for it, even after getting a refund. They said they would call us back the next day, no call. I called back left a voicemail on the main line because the number on the menu did not work. I heard back two days later. The front desk always seemed to mention they did not know what the back room did. The receptionist would always refer us to be transferred back to optical to get more information. I did however get a $20 discount because of the poor service after telling them I am not paying. The experience was very frustrating and unprofessional. We felt we were manipulated into buying things we did not need and was told it was too late. The front desk pretty much knew nothing about my case and we were always passed along. After leaving a message to have a supervisor call back, nothing. I will not go back there and will not refer anyone. They obviously dont value customers as much as their profits. I think its because they are located in Maple Grove so they think they can charge whatever they like.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. From the moment I walked in, to my smiling exit, this was a good experience. I was able to book a contact exam 2 hours in advance, or I wouldnt have gone. The nice lady who checked me in was very sweet and likable and helped me with the paperwork. The charming lady who saw me before the doctor made me feel very welcome and comfortable while explaining what to expect and prepping me for the Doc. There was hardly any waiting and the tests went smoothly as Doc treated me like a welcome guest in a professional, yet personable manner. I got to meet Roosevelt only briefly, but I look forward to buying my glasses from him, since he was so friendly and genuine. I got set up with exactly what I needed and the service was tremendous due to the wonderful attitude and vibe of the whole office. I hope I brightened their day in return! *Tink Tink*

I have been going to Opthamologists and optometrists since I was 6 years old. I have lived all over the country (Boston, Manhattan, Miami, Houston, Los Angeles) and I was super impressed with Dr . Tina McCartys confidence, efficiency, knowledge and care of my vision. No one has even suggested that my contacts correct my astigmatism and with this change, I can see so much better when I drive. I have also been a glaucoma suspect for years and I felt confident that McCarty will lead me to a specialist if needed in the future. I am new to Maple Grove and with my history, I was nervous about finding a good doctor. I can see why she won the Minnesota Optometric Associations optometrist of the year award. Top notch. Im very picky and was so pleased. Great eyewear collection as well.

Ive always hated wearing glasses but the ones I bought from Eye Care Centers changed my opinion completely! The digital lenses actually allow me to see while wearing them. My vision is so bad that typically contacts were the only thing I felt comfortable wearing, especially when driving, but now I can wear contacts or glasses and see just as well with both. The optician did make a mistake when quoting out the prices but we were able to find a compromise. Mistakes happen - they handled it well. It doesnt take away from the experience, and end result.

I wanted to like this place because of the great brands they carry and because Lori is so nice in person, but the service is absolutely terrible. They have NEVER returned a phone call. The people are excessively rude and dismissive. As for the eye exam, I figured the cost was about the same as everywhere else. Totally wrong. $300 for a simple eye exam - the same you could get anywhere else! Overall, I wouldnt recommend this place. There are no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Youre better making the drive somewhere else.

I had a change of insurance so I ended going here because my regular place Maple Grove Pearl Vision wouldnt take it. As others have written the staff is rude and very short, the people working the front desk either sit on personal phone calls while customers wait or are no where to be found and you have to go seek them out. The doctor (dont remember which one) I saw acted bored and irritated almost as though I interrupted his day to have an eye exam. I will now pay out of pocket to go back to Pearl Vision versus this place!

RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!! Waited to check in for several minutes while the front desk/ technician finished her conversation about shoes. Waited 15 minutes past my appointment to be seen by the Dr. because they took a walk in first " since he would be quicker". Waited for a call from them for 2 weeks to tell me that my contacts were in, finally stopped in to see if they were in yet and was told they were never ordered. Was also reffered to as "sweety". Very unprofessional. Dont go here!!!!
