I usually love shopping at discount stores. I like trying to find a bargain. Given this, I am usually a dedicated and extremely patient shopper. I have worked at several retail jobs and understand that lines sometime become long and it is not the fault of the associates checking people out. However, today I had what is one of the longest wait times in my life at any retail establishments checkout line--and it was not time for Christmas shopping or peak business hours, which I would also understand. I got in line behind a lady who had purchased several items, then decided to apply for the credit card after the purchase. When I arrived, I was in the only open line. The cashier, Ramona, did not tell me that this was what had happened and that I might want to go to the next line that was opening. Instead, she let me stand there for about ten minutes. After I realized that not only was the order being returned, but that there was a credit card application in the works along with the need to re-do the entire transcation, I moved to the only other open line. At that point, four people who were behind me had already been checked out and left the store. Once I was in the second line for about five minutes, a third cashier arrived to open a line. Instead of saying, "I will help whoevers next in line," or something simliar, the line was simply opened and people from the other two lines (which were swamped by this point) flocked to the newly opened line. I then had to watch as at least EIGHT people who had been in line behind me were checked out ahead of me. It took me close to twenty minutes to be able to leave the store. This is inexcusable. I pointed this out to my cashier, who was unflappably cheerful and seemed to deliberately miss the point. I then told her point-blank that they need to say they will help whoever is next when they open a new line. Again, she ignored me. Go figure! I would suggest that you go here only when you have time to stand and wait and only if you dont mind seeing multiple customers who were in line behind you get waited on ahead of you. It makes me angry enough that I dont want to return to shop at this location.
