What happened here? This place had such annoyingly helpful people... I mean you couldnt walk 10 feet without someone helping you... Which is good! I am just a browse around and think about my project shopper. NOW---- the workers are hard to find and scatter when they see a customer. Such a shame that the local hardware I grew up loving is like this now. I assume the new owner knew "better" than the multi generational customers they had. I think Howard (pretty sure thats his name) isnt even there anymore. Its really a dang shame to see this happen. The registers are moved and they stink at that location. The aisles are hard to navigate. Prices are all out of whack. Some of them have been repriced and marked way up. If you peel the tag back on most items you find a much lower price. PLEASE NORTHSIDE GO BACK TO WHAT WORKED FOR ALL OF US LOCALS! I hate leaving reviews on places that are family owned that are not 5 stars. You can go back to being a great store. Just get the knowledgeable guys and gals to come back and keep your prices at least fair. Good luck new owners! Just listen to the people that live nearby and shop here. But hey at least you can get a parking spot on Saturday now. :(

I just finished reading the reviews for Northside True Value and I cannot believe those reviews were about the same place I visited. My experience could not have been better. I am shocked. My project was to hang a very heavy mirror on a wall. Stopped at Home Depot and Lowes, neither had the wall anchors I was looking for and the staff were of no help. They had no knowledge of the products in their sections. As a last ditch effort, I stopped in at Northside. Went right to the fastner aisle and found every type of wall anchor imaginable. One of the employees saw me looking and stopped and helped me out as well. On my way to the check out line, I saw LED upgrade bulbs for my mag lite. A separate employee saw me looking over the lights and stopped to assist me as well. During check out, the check-out girls could not have been friendlier. When I got to my car and pulled out my mag light, I realized I bought the wrong light bulb. Took it back and the check-out girls were glad to help with the return. I was telling my fiance that I doubt I would go back to a big box store and she told me I should write a Google review. I am trying to buy local and I will continue to do so.

Needs to update their hours. If you close at 8:00pm that does not mean you close at 7:55pm. I suggest posting on your Facebook business page, as well as google, to ensure that all of your customers know you close 5 minutes before your actual posted time. Normally I dont complain but my boyfriend, myself and our 2 year old had stopped at 5 other stores. Forgot one item, and wanted to stop at Northside because its on the way. So I stayed in the car with our son while he ran to the door only to watch it be locked as he got up to the door at 7:56. The annoying part is that if we werent stuck at a light we would have made it by one minute. Or 6 minutes. Im unclear on how the timing would work because everything said they closed at 8pm but they do not. I would not be so resentful if they actually posted a sign on the door or had the correct time on their site so we didnt have to waste our time.

I have been going to Northside since I was a kid, even worked there for a short time. Never in my life have I had the poor service I received tonight. After 3 employees walked bye and didnt say a word, I finally grab one. He helped me for a couple of minutes until a lady asked him were some lights were, the next isle over. Thats when he turned to me and said, "Can I help her now?" Yes, you can I will take my business to a big box store, which is what I did. Found what I needed because it was properly marked and not some Chinese bull#$it, and it was cheaper. It will be a long time before I return to this place.

The lady in housewares customer service skills were less than impressive. I had questions regarding the purchase of a pressure cooker/canner for my mother. She didnt want to leave her little desk. When she did, she was rude, b!@#$%y and just put out to answer my questions. Made a choice not to purchase anything from this place. I vote with my hard earned dollars. Came home, bought $725.00 worth of canning products for my mom. Love the new All American pressure cooker and all the other toys I bought to go along with it... Thanks Amazon and Free Shipping!!! Love living in a republic.. I am free to choose

Most employees are rude and make it seem like a bother to help you. For a local hardware store that charges more for the same product you can get from a big box store you would think that customer service would be a priority to them. I used to shop here because it is close and convenient, also I like to shop at local businesses when I can. But I shouldnt be dealt with like a nucense for asking them for help. The attitude these employees have to their customers is what is killing small business.

Unprofessional Pathetic service, David is thé one who took thé order and he promised it Will be ready to pickup on Monday and they kept on playing until thé next weekend finally it was ready after 10 days instead of 3 Days he promised and thé second surprise and shock was he promised thé price Will not go over $90 but i ended up paying $140 never trust thé people i cant beleive in this day and age people could cheat lire this. David is a lier , stay away from him,

Horrible service here, first & only time Ill visit. Staff gave me incorrect information multiple times that turned what shouldve been a simple task into a huge hassle. Then ended up having to pay more than expected bc I was originally told and charged the wrong price. No apology for the screw up - just a thats how much it costs honey from the owner. Id hoped a locally owned store would be a nice change of pace from the big box stores, boy was I wrong!

This place closes early everyday thwy have someone at the door not letting people in before their closing time every single day its crazy a employee stands at the door yelling CLOSED at people walking up to the door 10 minutes before closing time. By far the most professional hardware store in America to date. Thank you so mich Northside, the only thing True Value about this place is its customer service.

I have been shopping at northside since i was a kid. I always said if northside does not have it you dont need it. Boy have things changed and not for the better. I will not be back. 5lb of 3 inch chlorine for 35 dollars. I tried to help them out and tell them it had to be wrong, did not want to hear it.
