I was so surprised and disappointed in the way an employee by the registers talked to me on Saturday, August 13. My daughter and I shop here every week, but not anymore. I knew they were closing in 10 minutes but I forgot about a birthday party the next day at 11:00 am. I work retail myself for over 20 years, and I know how it is for someone to walk in 10 minutes before closing. There is a right way to handle it, and a very rude way to handle it. She decides to do it a very rude and embarrassing way to me and my daughter. I was running from the parking lot knowing I had only 5 minutes to look through the toy sections. Which by the way, are in the front of the store, right by the registers, in baskets on top of the girls clothes area. So this employee decides to only call me out directly and say, in front of a lot of customers in line, "You know mam we do close in 5 minutes," in a very rude way. I want to stress to the management here at Salvation Army that there is a nicer way to tell your customers you are closing, and THAT IS NOT to call out someone individually. Just announce over your intercom, Hello customers, we would like you to bring your final selection to register at this time. We will be closing in 10 minutes. I felt she was rude a second time, by announcing over intercom, "if you do not have your final purchases brought up to the register by 9pm, you cannot buy it!" Wow, this is NOT a professional way to speak to your customers!!! I hope you can find a nicer way to announce you are closing to your customers to not embarrass them or make them feel uncomfortable!!! Also, for how many people still in your store 10 minutes before closing, please change your website information it does say til 10pm. Maybe some customers saw that!!

I go to several Salvation Army Stores. I normally go to this one probably once a month. My Mom and I went on October 27th and unfortunately it was my Moms first and last time there. While waiting in line to check out we saw an employee on register eating a bag of Ritz crackers while waiting on a customer. Just as we approached the register, she picked up a bottle of pop and drank it right in front of us. She screwed the cap back on with one hand while taking my Moms credit card with the other. We just stared at her in disbelief. I have never seen this before in ANY store. It was unprofessional, rude and classless. We declined a bag.

I frequent Salvation Armys quite a bit, this one has nice staff and good selection but so many people go through a day almost everything of value such as collectors items are picked clean by mid week. Other thing is this salvation army is significantly more expensive than some of the other ones I go to, Id say in average expect stuff to be about 30-40% more expensive than a less popular Salvation army. Still aside I have found some good finds as a Uranium Glass collector here, though much rarer than some other stores.

I feel bad about giving a Salvation Army store only three stars but thats all thats warranted. The prices seem high. For such a large store they really dont have any more stock than the smaller stores. The worst thing is the wait in line. The clerks chat on their cell phones instead of hurrying , its ridiculous.

Far less of a bargain than it used to be. Apparently the management is trying to up the profits on donated goods. When the resale price of stuff approaches the "new in box" price its time to take a walk. Store staff is always friendly though.

i find some good deals here, which s tough to say most times, bad pricing for the most part, i think clothes should max out at $5 dependent on the shape they are in, they just need to work on having lower and more consistent pricing

This is my favorite Salvation Army location by far. Ive found some real treasures here, including a $6 silver plated hair piece that I polished to wear on my wedding day. I would go here every week given the chance.

Its dirty and doesnt smell very good as soon as you walk through the door but to be expected I guess. The adult clothes are too pricey, might as well buy new. Best to get children clothes which are the best bargain.

I do a lot of shopping at different Salvation Army stores in the metro Detroit area, but this is the best one! They have a huge selection of womens clothes, especially dresses. Many of the items are designer.

I found so many things that we could use at reasonable prices. The staff complimented my little girl and gave her a free toy for being well behaved. Great shopping experience.

Selection of clothes for large men is very limited. Prices have become far more expensive than smaller resale shops and yard sales.
