I ordered 14 boxes of laminate flooring on your web site to be picked up at the Warren store, because the Davidson store only had 10 boxes. I live in Waterford and the Davidson store was easier to get to at 6pm on a Friday night. I ordered the flooring while at the Davidson store and was assured that the Warren store had the 14 boxes I needed. When I picked up my order at the Warren store, one whole box of flooring was damaged, when I inquired about the 15th box that was left in stock the young man that pulled the the boxes from inventory said the remaining box was in worse shape. Now I have to go all the way back to Davidson to get a box thats damage free. If the person who checked inventory in the first place had bothered to check the ripped open boxes of flooring they should have concluded that the store did not have 15 saleable boxes but only 13 and I would have bought one box while I was at the Davidson store. This is my first time shopping at Menards, and may be my last.

Ill give Menards four stars for the Chesterfield store. I do like their selection and the prices cannot be beat for most everything that I need. I find the employees very helpful and kind although a few of the cashier women could use an attitude adjustment (like smiling), but I find that to be typical here on the east side of Michigan. This store loses one star on account of a safety concern. On 23 April, I visited the Chesterfield store and while walking in the back near the doors and windows area, a fork-lift almost backed up into me because the back-up beeper had been disconnected. I told that driver as he slowed down near me what it wasnt working and he didnt say anything. I worked in field in the mid-90s at an Andersen Windows Warehouse so I know the rules; every time a driver backs up on a fork-lift, the back-up beeper is supposed to warn others. That is a huge NO-NO in this industry and needs to be fixed NOW.

There is never anyone around that knows anything. There are Menards employees but all they might know is where something is, not anything about it. At least at Home Depot the employees are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The other problem I found with Menards is that if you order an item to be shipped to the store and there is a problem with it or it doesnt match the description or doesnt look like the description, it will still cost you 10% of the price for restocking. I was going to order some doors but not willing to risk having to pay $50 because the doors were not as described. If you do an online purchase for store pickup, they charge you a fee to do that, Home Depot and Lowes do not and much easier to do a pickup at Home Depot and Lowes. Overall Menards is one of those stores where they think you are being privileged to shop there.

Went to Menards today May 5th 2017 12:20 pm to by a Swann Security System pay for ut and walk to my truck, someone that claimed they were security for Menards with no picture id, no security badge, no iddentification period walked up and tried to rip my belongings from my hands and refused to show me proof he was security. Only after he almost got nailed in the ground for strong arm robbery i showed him my reciept but still would not show me proof. Again no proof that he is Securities no identification no badge no T-shirt no nothing but a claim that he is security. Bad day at menards and want to let everyone know that it is illegal to strong-arm someones belongings from them without showing them identification of securities if that what they claim. It is strong-arm robbery if they refuse to show id.

Called ahead to check on a 5 cedar swing as Internet showed me left in stock. Requested to confirm stock on floor which they did. Drove 45 min (of course 45 min back)to find out 1/2 of swing legs were missing. Complained to associate and asked to speak with manager. After 30 min of waiting i guess Manager was not interested in speaking with me. Left my name and number to speak with him....still no call (I will update if he calls). Plenty of other stores provide same or better product and have decency to speak with customers. My money will be spent at lowes or home depot from now on. Never had close to this lack of customer attention at their stores. Bye!!!

The place is amazing. Went there to get all my lumber for my addition Im building, spent 5 minutes at the counter as the guy processed my 124 board order. Stood in line for about 30 seconds to pay for my order. Drove around back to the wood barn, guys directed me to where I could find all my different sizes of lumber. I had just as great experience last time when I bought my new doors. Ive been to to Warren Menards a handful of times this year, everyones always been very helpful and everything is always fast, from wood, paint, door, patio, etc... departments, to the cashiers, to the wood barn. Outside of the great people working there, great prices!

Picked up a special order door at warren store.was forced to open the trunk of my vehicle for inspection when leaving the yard.only thing missing were the German shepherd dogs and undercarriage mirrors. Met with the manager and was told that it is a part of a store wide theft prevention program.manager said that all customers are treated the same.I think another approach should be used rather than assuming all customers to be thieves.I will not shop there again.....Will share my story with others in the local business community.Back to home depot.....never insulted there in 30 years of spending my consumer dollar with them.

Shopped for about an hour on some home improvement Items with my young daughter who is 17 months old. All was great until we had left the entrance. Where there was 2 Menards employees smoking their cigarettes and blowing smoke into our faces. THANKS!!! Went inside and returned all my merchandise and will never shop here again. Very intolerable. I know I cant protect her from cigarette smoke or other toxins completely but I would hope that Menards would have had better standards. Went down the road to HOme Depot where I gladly paid 100% more but the employees are civilized and not smoking at the exit.

I was so excited about the new Menards opening in my area. Quite a disappointment. They lure you in with their rebates and cheap little products then rip you off! There is a lot of products that are WAY over priced compared to lowes , home depot and many other stores. Service was not great....crew of idiots working in the building material department. Ive been going to building supply stores since Handy Andy opened. I think my experience speaks for itself. BUYER BEWARE. They are a rip off over all!!!

Is there a Zero star? Thats what these guys deserve it! Worst customer service. I was looking for a product which was clearly in stock but I was not able to find it. So I ask an associate. He didnt even look at my phone screen to figure out what product Im looking for and walls away saying its not in stock. I spent few minutes and called another associate who was passing by. He made eye contact and walked away ignoring me. Worst people I have ever seen!! Never going back and will spread the word.
