I put special order for carpeting and hardwood floor.as per advertise special order arrive in 7 business day and i got my order after one and half month that also after calling many time to home depot store and customer service..well after getting order i have to call them to schedule installation date and they said they dont have date next few week.i call again to customer service and they schedule hardwood flooring and for carpeting gave me other date. For carpeting on day of installation no buddy show up so i called home depot and they told me its third party do installation so they dont have info and gave me phone no for third party even though i paid all money to home depot.i call third party and they said they dont see any date schedule and i am still waiting for my carpeting ..i just call home depot again and they put me on hold and no buddy came on phone and finally got disconnected after 15 min waiting on line...i will never do business with home depot and i will definitely let my family and friends know that this was worst nightmare!!!!!!

Difficult to get service, as employees seemed to ignore me standing and waiting for help. But the worst problem is access. The entry for cars is in one spot only, that is without a light. That entrance takes you to a far end of the store. There seems to be a door nearest the drive-in, but it isnt a door. Nearby is a small sign for entrance at another door. There are no other entrance signs seen on the building. You enter near the customer service desk, but this area is mostly deprived of any useful and typical quick run products. ALL of the cash registers are ALL the way down the store, near the other end. That is where the ONLY exit is. Therefore, most people will enter and exit from DRASTICALLY different locations. If there is an entrance door near the exit, you can barely tell there is a door there. This is the most backwards set-up I have ever seen. If there is another hardware store nearby, I would go to that one.

Ive shot frequently at this store and each time I do theres always some kind of an issue. Now today I went in there to return a Ridgid drill kit set because there was a sale ad going on that for another $20 more Id get the hammer drill instead of the normal drill. Now the 26 mile Shelby store has an uncapped signage up about the sale today the following day when Im in the Rochester Hills location they dont have an uncapped signage about the sale and not one employee knew anything about this sale. The tool manager cold around the four different stores to find out information in the end Home Depot lost a $200 transaction because they could not answer the questions professionally. When I called the corporate office the lady was quite rude on the phone. I guess I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere

One bad experience can be forgiven but continual bad experiences cant. For the great part of the last 5-7 years, this store has consistently demonstrated abysmal customer service. I dont think Ive ever been in a location where employees so consistently just aimlessly walk by customers without interacting or offering assistance, even if they look lost in their search for the desired goods. If you are fortunate enough to receive help, 1/10 interactions will be with an associate that is friendly and knowledgeable. 9/10 will be with an associate that seems distracted, disinterested and bothered. Most recently, I walked around, stood and even sat on the counter of the paint station waiting for someone. For 30 minutes. Eventually two people arrived. Yay.

Ive lived in the Rochester Hills area for over two years now, visited this store over a dozen times (including a visit today) and I hope it never changes. At least once during every visit Im approached and asked if I need help. There are almost always associates close by who give helpful and thorough advice or directions to where an item is kept. This review may seem overly flattering but Ive actually been feeling guilty for not giving a review sooner, especially when my expectations are consistently upheld. The location has been an excellent asset and is a well run store staffed by positive professional people. Thank you Wanda, Edy and the paint associates (names sorry!) as well as numerous others who deserve their own shout outs.

WATCH OUT !!!! return states 90 days return . That is a lie ! went to return a power tool within 10 days of purchase date, the tool stopped working. Home depot refused to issue a refund or exhange , at first they said it looked like it was purchased more than 10 days ( in a nice way to say you are a lier ) , then changed the story to say it was abused ( was used for one project ) , then they threw in the magic clause that home depot reserves the right to limit or deny returns. This review is to educate the consumers out there only, ( this is not about the loss of money here ) BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BUY FROM HOME DEPOT. checked out LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENT policy does NOT state anything like that about there return policy.

This Home Depot seems to have a good selection of everything. Its not the biggest Home Depot out there, but its also not the smallest one either. FYI -- the biggest ones in Oakland Co are on Orchard Lake Rd in Pontiac and on Twelve Mile in Madison Heights. These are considered "contractor stores" and have larger selections than other counterparts in the area. That being said, the Home Depot on Avon Rd is conveniently located and saves you the trip of having to go down to Lowes on Rochester Rd near M59. The staff at this Home Depot seem to be friendly and willing to help, especially considering it never really seems to be all that busy at this location.

Ordering Lumber that will be delivered is a hit or miss on the quality of lumber, unless you pick the lumber yourself prehend ! & the delivery window of 9 hours is almost laughable, especially when senior Associates at pro desk barely knowledgeable about their own ordering process and scheduling of deliveries services!, apparently "Rochester Hills"Home Depot needs to properly train their Associates better to handle such basic tasks! When running a business like I do, time is money and money is wasted with incompetent employees, in todays world.. you want things done right do yourself & forgo Depot with their unprofessional business practices.

Their lumber saw is very frequently down for days and fixing it is not their priority. When you need specific product, that is not on the shelf, 5 minutes hunting for knowledgeable employee. He checks system and tells you he definitely got more of those. He then starts looking for them, and by the way he does it its clear there is no proper inventory, location and tracking in place. 10 minutes later he tells you that product is on a truck currently unloading at the bay and will definitely be available tomorrow. Product is not available tomorrow. Edit: 3 days later the saw is still down.

Liar, liar, pants on fire. Promised we would have the cost of a quote to get a gas line for a new gas stove waived if we had the installation done the same day. We agreed to have it installed the same day as the quote. The service guy said he didnt have the pipe and would come back the next day. Then he said the cost of the quote would not be waived and we would need to pay the $89 fee plus the $750 cost to have the gas line installed. Unfair. We will not buy any of the 4 major kitchen appliances from Home Depot in Rochester Hills or any other store.
