Unreliable to say the least. My fiance and I made our first big purchase together at Value City and bought a sectional. We paid over $2,000 for it because we loved it so much in the store (a little pricey for a place like Value City I believe). Two of my friends both had good experiences with Value City so we thought we would be good going with them. WRONG. The sales people in the store were very friendly and although it took them a great deal of time to figure out it if we needed left facing vs right facing (had to have three employees look into it) we still felt OK with our purchase. We had to special order our sectional because we wanted a darker grey color and the long sofa facing a certain way. We were told 6 weeks when we ordered it and that it would be delivered August 19th. Not terrible. Everything was going on schedule based on the email we received saying the order was complete. We received a phone call a week before the delivery date saying it would be delivered August 19th. Two days before we received a call saying it would be delivered around 10:30. Day before, as in August 18, we received a call it would be another MONTH. MONTH! Not until the day before do we find out that we would have to wait another month. My fiance was given excuses at first that "special orders can sometimes take a few months".... why were we given 6 weeks then??? It was not adding up. I called myself saying it was unacceptable. A month later was NOT OK in the SLIGHTEST. I spoke with who I believe might be a manager and he was able to find out that for some reason even though we placed our order on July 3rd, their internal ordering system/manufacturer did not actually place the order until an ENTIRE MONTH AFTER WE PLACED IT IN STORE. The manager I spoke with was actually very nice. He was able to change our delivery date from 4 weeks later than we were originally told to 2 weeks later. We are grateful that we now dont have to wait another month, but still this should have never happened. Value City might have nice employees at their stores, but they are disorganized and unreliable. I will never buy from them ever again. NO compensation of ANY sort was offered to us. We got a sorry. The only thing that kept us from asking for our money back was the fact that we HOPEFULLY now will only have to wait 2 more weeks. Not very confident though.

I have never had such a bad experience in my life. My boyfriend and I purchased a sectional during Black Friday weekend 2015. When it arrived at our home, I noticed the sofa section did not fit correctly with the chaise. I did not say anything because I though it maybe its supposed to be like that. About a month later, I noticed the sofa started sagging in the middle. Still, the sectional is in the basement, maybe its tilting slightly because of the floor. Finally, in October 2015, I call and ask for someone to come look at the sectional. They send someone out. He takes a look, says he will have to let the service people know and then they will call to schedule someone coming out to take the couch for repairs. Sure, fine, whatever. They call and schedule the pick up. 3 days before the pick up, I sit down on the couch, mind you, just sit. Didnt plop, didnt jump, nothing. The chaise snap off of the back of the frame. I call and tell them. They give me the run around about sending a guy out to look again and I tell them to cancel the sofa pick up because now theyre going to have to take the entire thing. They will only send someone on certain days at the time they want you there 9-5 no weekends. I was working in retail almost 60 hours a week and no one in my home is home during the day. It took 4 weeks to schedule my service. Then, the day of service, I get a call from a delivery guy who has no clue what his order is for. Hes not even the service guy! I called and told them I wanted a replacement that I was coming in to get a new couch. They agreed. I went with my mother this time, picked out a new couch right after Christmas this year. They say delivery isnt until the 21st of January because the one I want in the color is not in stock. Fine. Now I got a call today that only part of the couch will be delivered and the rest wont be there until February 8th. I am never ever never buying a piece of furniture from the place again!

Worst company, worst service. There people say on the couch as I tried to buy a new entertainment center. Just because someone walks in there and isnt dressed in a $300 outift doesnt mean they dont have money. And I waited next to the new entertainment center I wanted to buy for half an hour. They all just looked at me, no one got up not one asked if I wanted help they all just sat there. Rude. And I will never go there I walked out Ill take the grand somewhere else where someone will help me. You wonder why you dont make good enough commission, but the peoole your sitting their ignoring because there not to your standards are the ones who throw down the money. Honestly I hope all of you loose your job. And Id never go here again. Not even if I was paid to go. This company is the worst company Ive ever seen.

The worst furniture store, had a very bad experience. The sale associates and manager are so rude and unhelpful. My wife and I went to buy living room furniture 3 months ago and the sale person never explained their store policy and what needs to be done to order the furniture, we waited over 2 months for our pieces to be delivered, and they never came or called. So we go over to the store to see whats going and we get told that our furniture wasnt ordered from the first place. And that was just before Easter so we canceled our gather with our family because we had no furniture. And the manager didnt even do anything or offered a discount. We were told to wait another 1-2 months again for the funiture to be delivered. So we canceled and we would never go back there again. Unbelievable!

Worst company with rude workers. They seemed to help then effed me over and argued because they didnt want to admit to being wrong. Ill never go to this one again. The manager and the sales floor associate sucked.

I had an issue with a couch and Steve the manager at the Sterling Heights store was helpful. He took back the broken couch and is delivering a nice sectional to replace it. I am satisfied.
