I went to Chester Boot Shop a few weeks ago because I had seen a pair of Minnetonka boots online. The store had a HUGE selection of Dr. Martens, cowboy/girl boots, work boots, and other items, including some Minnetonka products. Unfortunately, the store didnt carry the item I was looking for, but they told me they could order them. They measured my feet and had me try on another Minnetonka boot style to determine my size. I paid for the item and got a call 8 days later that my boots had come in. I LOVE my new boots!! I wish it was fall right now so I could wear them more often! I understand that a small local store cant stock every item from every brand, but they were so helpful in getting me the product that I wanted, and the price was the same as what I had seen them online for! I ended up buying a new pair of Merrell shoes from them as well because my old tennis shoes were getting holes in them. When I told them that there was a little too much arch support in the Merrell, the employee asked me to take the shoe off. Im not sure exactly what he did, but he put some kind of padding in the heel that flattened out the arch some and now these shoes feel so great. I have knee and foot problems and they have been bothering me so much less lately. I would recommend Chester Boot Shop to everyone! The staff was very informative and helpful.

Great selectio, but pricey. Had a bad experience. One of thr guys sized my feet up and got me an pair of work shoes and said they would fit perfectly, with no issues. He also stated that the inserts included with the shoes were better than Dr. Scholls. I ended up being in pain for days because of the shoes. I called, they said i could exchange them for a better pair (with the difference paid for by me), and when i came in they didnt let me return them and do the exchange. INSTEAD, they gave me these flimsy, thin $12 inserts that were smaller. Still felt like my toes were crossing over and my arches were still bruising up. Bought some Dr. Scholls, and they feel natural now. Some of these guys dont really know much about inserts or shoes. The leather work shoes i was reccomended for unloading trucks were EASILY scratched and some of the threading is startting to pop out a little bit. Only go here if you know what you need before you buy!

I went in to look at some western boots. I dealt with the owner and he was informative, but very openly against buying online. He made a big deal out of it, and so when It came time to buy I went back and offered him the business and asked him to price match, which he said he often did. He not only refused to price match, but was very rude to me and somewhat insulting as he protested the "value of customer service". I understand the online market hurts stores, but being rude to customers and giving them a bad experience has to be worse. I for one, will never be back, and certainly do NOT reccommend Chester Boot Shop to anyone shopping for fine footwear.

Great selection of work and casual boots, I didnt make it over to the cowboy side. Very skilled and knowledgeable staff. One of the few places that has actual made in America boots, not just assembled foreign materials. I bought a Chippewa winter work boot, and was back to buy a casual boot shortly because I was so happy. I was very happy with the second pair, a pair Carolinas. I drove out from Redford, and will again for summer boots. I probably could have found a cheaper pair online, but I would not have had the knowledge and experience of the staff to rely on. That is priceless to me!

Looks like great selection, but customer service lacking. Knew what I wanted and tried to find my size. Clerk stopped helping other female customer who didnt seem to know what she wanted but was looking at more expensive boots than the rubber muck boots I needed. He told me he didnt know when they would get another shipment in, and didnt ask for my number to call when they were available. He just went back to the female customer young enough to be his daughter. I purchased new boots at large chain store that day.

Dr Martens, all the way! If you want customer service, this is the place to go! I cant imagine going to a brick and mortar store to look at shoes, try them on, then ask the owner to cut his margin to match an online store with no overhead. Price matching is only done between brick and mortar stores, i have never seen it done when online prices were involved. I have found great footwear usually comes at a cost. The prices here are fair and service great as this is a specialty store! Long time customer.

This place is hands down the best in Michigan! The selection is amazing and the service cannot be beat. They treat you like you are the only person in the store. They are so attentive and great at making sure you get exactly what you need. I work in customer service, and was so pleased with my experience that I have recommended Chester Boot Shop to all my friends. If you are looking for great selection, fantastic service, and amazing quality...then this is THE place to go!

My experience at Chester Boots was exceptional. Treated very good by well professional and courteous salespersons. I have bought several pairs of boots from them since 1997. The quality of their products remain suitable for wear even today, 2012. Thats right, I have those same boots today. Good place to shop for long lasting boot wearing individuals.

The old guy in the store told me he had to get me outta the pull on keens i was wearing and into something more comfortable like a lace up. I told him i love these boots and purchased them here and wanted another pair. I was like is this douche serious.... He was, so i left and will NEVER be back. See ya suckers

The boots are very comfortable & im wearing then now as I type this review & its been about 9 months of owning these Ariat boots. Im going back very soon to get me another pair soon.
