Best Buy is of course the ONLY place to buy electronics anymore. Yes, there is Micro Center in Madison Heights and even Office Depot / Max, but OD/OM is not as large and MC is a bit of a drive. Admittedly if you live near there it would eliminate any reason to go to Best Buy. I like the products that they have and they have a lot of newer, more interesting products and have upgraded their line a lot in recent years. They now feature a huge selection of home automation products, drones and other things that you didnt know you had to have, but after leaving here your charge card will reflect it with a minimum 4 digit balance. With TVs that can go as high as $10K or more its easy to spend money. Even for a self admitted technophile I have to say that I would never drop 5 digits on a TV. They have good deals sometimes on Blurays, and can even have $5-8 blurays which isnt too bad. Although they have improved in recent years, I still find the arrogant know-it all employees who think they are more knowledgeable about the products than you are, but may very well know absolutely nothing about them. One employee while speaking about cameras and scanners spoke information that was completely off topic and instead of calling him out I listened to him guide me down a path that although I knew better, some other customers might not have. NO, you do not need 64GB of ECC Registered ram to play facebook games and read e-mail. My server has that, but the purpose of it is not to play games and e-mail. The average user gets talked into many things that are excessive since they try hard to upsell. "Sir, you should buy the warranty for the box set of movies you are purchasing today. For only $9.99 you can have 3 years of protection." In general if you find yourself prone to dropping your cell phone multiple times a day you should invest in this protection. I am extremely careful with all of my electronics and never get a warranty, however that is not the case for most Americans. I find that with nearly all of their products, with the exception of the appliances, I am incredibly more knowledgeable than almost all the employees. Often many of the employees use condescension and arrogance to try to sell. I usually listen with a grain of salt. Bottom line, if you are shopping for electronics, do your research. Dont buy the $4,000 TV because you came in to get a cell phone charger but it "looked cool." Check review sites, find more info online through google, and ask other people. If several other knowledgeable friends tell you the same as the Best Buy dude feel free to consider it as truth. I shop at Best Buy a lot more than I used to because Amazon now charges taxes. Always check Amazon and other online sites. If they provide a better price, Best Buy will match many places that are credible sites. Youll pay sales tax either way, but youll walk home (or drive) with the item today. And as an American you probably have almost no patience for an Amazon delivery to begin with. (I know this because I have often felt that waiting 2 days to get a bluray which I may never even watch was like a Bon Jovi song, Shot Through The Heart, but with a bullet of time.)

Customer service skills was just about perfect. When I first went in to make a purchase I was meet by Khoder, I told him I needed the top of the line 65 Samsung curve tv, so as we looked up the price it was indeed too expensive. So I notified him to order me the same tv in a 55. So when all and done I purchase more stuff throughout the store and the next day I went over the other stuff I needed to purchase and went to a different best buy I was near. I decided to see if the price was the same/more or less expensive, so as I was at the tv section I notice the cart had all models and the tv I ended up buying wasnt the top of the line and not even the curve version (most series have a curve and straight version). At this point I was furious, so I went back to this location and was meet with Nick (the manager) who was very understanding of the situation and beyond professional. He was able to control the situation and calm me down and resolve the problem. I ended up going back the next day to purchase the other stuff I needed and was helped by the manager him self Nick(which I appreciated) giving the fact hes well trained and a people person. Its wonderful when you get helped by someone who knows what theyre doing and not one whos bullshiting you because they feel like youre not going to spend the money or your ethnicity. I would highly not recommend dealing with khoder but nick was wonderful as will as Hass which I hoped i had run into the first time. For this issue I was at the store for a total of 4-5 times and every time Im around the t.v. section Hass is just a wonderful person as well (super people person). He make all the customers he deals with very happy by the way he talks to them(treats them the way they should be treated and knowledgeable). Although he might be new I think with the skills he has and motivation, he should be a manager sooner then later (dont waste a good skilled person best buy). Extremely nice person I got to know on my last day finishing up as he help nick. Keep up the good customer service skills Nick, Hass. Thank you guys.

People dont let the name "Best Buy" fool you. This is the worth best buy in the USA. Mostly all the employees are bad. They dont know what there doing and unprofessional. They do not have knowledge about the products they sell. So if you get a recommendation about a device it will definitely be bad. I was buying a laptop one the employee didnt know how to turn it on. I am a born geek and know everything about electronics and I can go into detailed specs of mostly each and every device in there store. Trust me when I tell you the staff doesnt know anything geek squad is even worse. Returned a phone on 1/1/2015 under easy pay contract now its 1/26 still havent received my $400 down payment. Been to the store multiple time no one could help me because they are all inexperienced and uneducated. Thats not the whole story this phone I purchased has caused me so much trouble from returning it to buying it. The whole service is bad everything is bad.... I hope you guys get closed for good. So my advice do not seek and help nor advice from there employees. I would only recommend you go there when you know for sure what you want and youve done the research already.

PLEASE READ!! Best Bestbuy in Detroit Area Hands down!!!! Ive been living by this bestbuy location for 11 yrs. Being a premium elite member, best buy is more like my 2nd home. Yet, this particular location proved to have taken a 180 degree turn into great customer service recently. Im actually very impressed. Ive never imagined this store to accel the way it did in the past few months. It seems like the manager there (Ben) has brought together a team thats very killed in customer service. Honestly, I have referred more than 25 of my friends and family members to that store for this years Christmas shopping. Their input was the same as mine: spectacular service, everyone (sales) there was very eager to welcome and offer assistance. It seemed like they were having so much fun doing their job. Thank you so much Ben for the VIP treatment that me and my F&F receive every time we go shopping, you and your team is really what keeps customers be loyal to Bestbuy especially during these tough times and this unforgiving competitive market. Again, very impressed! Youre a real asset! Merry Xmas!
