I have never had a problem with PetSmart grooming scheduling until now. I called and scheduled a bath with Chantelle for my wifes dog, who has bad allergies, for Monday morning. Chantelle normally grooms my older dog so it makes sense to want someone I know and trust to bathe my wifes dog. Back story: PetSmart grooming on Middlebelt and Schoolcraft in Livonia cut my dog all over her body and traumatized her. She was terrified of being groomed to the point of having diarrhea on the table while being groomed after that. We ended up with Chantelle as a groomer at a different location and she has worked hard over the years to gain her trust and make her comfortable. Shes gentle and patient with my dog and has her excited about being groomed again. I personally have watched PetSmart groomers and bathers become angry at dogs, yanking on them and yelling at them. Thats why we ask specifically for Chantelle any time any grooming needs to be done. We have even gone with her as she has moved from other stores. If Chantelle didnt work there I wouldve already been at a different grooming salon. Back to the problem. Michigan winter decided to hit in full force and we called Sunday afternoon to reschedule. My wife was told Chantelle had Tuesday available and that wouldnt be a problem. My wife told the girl on the phone that it would need to be an express appointment. The girl told my wife there was three express appointments available and she chose the 9:30 slot. Tuesday morning, my wife left with the dog for her long drive. We live in Highland and its generally an hour or more drive based on the weather conditions. When she got there, she was told Chantelles off on Tuesdays. My wife tried to explain she was told Tuesday was Chantelles next available day and that we live in Highland. One of the three girls behind the counter goes, "Oh, okay". My wife asked her if she actually knew where Highland was and the girl stated we were close to Fenton. My wife said that she should understand then how far of a drive it was that she had come then. The girl got flustered and said she should just call Chantelle at home then. My wife did not ask for this. The girl had her personal phone in hand and had dialed Chantelle at this point. She told my wife to speak directly to Chantelle. Chantelle told my wife she had expected us Monday, sounding frustrated and with every right. Clearly there was no communication on their part in letting her know about the reschedule. This seems like a problem that happens more often than not or Chantelle wouldnt have been contacted directly by the store. How rude was that to do to not only a customer but to an employee on their ONLY day off?! My ex worked as both a bather and groomer for PetSmart and they tend to run them ragged. Especially during the holiday season. They did not offer my wife an apology, a manager or a reschedule. She was so upset she left without canceling her dogs appointment. When I called to cancel, Holly answered. I told her who I was and why I was calling. She sounded familiar with the situation but did not offer an apology, a manager, or a reschedule for the confusion. She was polite on the phone but all too happy to cancel the appointment and move on with her day as if nothing happened. I do not know if it was a mistake on their part or ours but the part that upsets me the most is that they didnt give a damn. Ive worked retail most of my life and even as a CSR would move Heaven and earth to keep customers happy. I just had surgery and my wife is pregnant so this just added to our already stressful life at the moment. We have now wasted gas, time, stress on my wife, my unborn child and my dog unnecessarily. I am not happy with this location and the ONLY reason I would return is for Chantelle.

Completely dissatisfied by their grooming. I took my 8 month old Shih Tzu here for grooming and they didnt listen to what was requested. He had some matting beginning on his belly so I asked that his underbelly be cut short along with his legs. As for the rest of his body I asked that they keep grooming minimum. I kept it clear that since there was no matting on his backside I didnt see reason to cut that hair. He had a long coat that he gets a lot of compliments on it. I told them that I liked how fluffy he was and that I wanted to keep it like that. When I returned my dog had been shaven very short on his whole body. It wasnt what was asked for and completely what I was afraid of happening. My dog was almost unrecognizable. Not only did their groomers not listen they also left my dog very frazzled. A normally calm and happy dog was returned to me as anxious and scared. My dog is brushed daily and has never had issues with being groomed. I attribute his behavior after grooming to what happened while he was in the care of Petsmart and not to being scared of being groomed. I will not return to this business again for grooming and would encourage others not to as well.

I have been going here for a while. Today I brought my Yorkie in for grooming. The last time I was there the groomer asked me to give him something for anxiety. I did and they did not want to take him today. A waste of my time, gas and money. This Petsmart always seem to have an issue with my little yorkie. At first I thought it was just certain groomers, but this is telling me I need to take him elsewhere. So I will take my doggie to Petco for grooming and supplies. So long Petsmart, you just lost a Customer.

I was took my 7 year old daughter here to pick out some fish for her new tank she got for her birthday. The older lady we were speaking too about getting fish was very rude. My daughter had gotten a 5 gallon tank and wanted 4 Fish a sucker fish and a frog. This lady told my daughter no she couldnt do this. Mind you they were having a sale but 4 Fish get two free. And then she got very rude with me and told me she could refuse sale to me if I wanted to get these fish for my daughter.

Groomers department is excellent. We highly recommend Chantelle W. She treats my dog like her own and has always done great work with her. Its comforting knowing I can leave my dog with someone who will take care of her! If youre in the area (and even if youre not! We drive from Commerce to see Chantelle!), check it out!

Rather large selection of products compared to other PetSmart stores Ive been too. The grooming service is great and Ive never had a long wait for walk-in grooming services (nail trim, ear cleaning, tooth brushing etc.). The lines for the registers can be a bit long during peak hours.

My family love to come here! My brother buys new fish. My mom buys greenies for my dog, Cosmo. I buy things for my ferret. My dad buys the dog food. Cosmo gets a groom. Its fun for the whole family. Their is something for everyone! I recently bought a betta, and she loves her bowl!
