I like Cracker Barrel in general, its always been a family favorite. At this particular store, however, I had a terrible experience. Went to have brunch with my mother at the Belleville location and we were accused of not paying for our meal. The cashier/waitress didnt believe we paid and actually followed us through the store and we had to show her our receipt. Hmm...I can guess why she picked US out of all the other people in the restaurant, but I wont go into that. All Ill say is that it was extremely insulting. Not only had we PAID FOR OUR MEAL, we left our waiter a generous tip, which we always do. My family and I have been coming to this location for YEARS, particularly during my college days and I am so disappointed. We are customers, not criminals trying to skip out on our bill. We were well-dressed and polite, doing nothing to make anyone think we were up to no good. Aside from that, the food wasnt even great. The grits were the worst I have ever tasted. Very under cooked, watery and tasteless. I understand that they cant add a bunch of butter and salt as some customers might have high blood pressure/cholesterol etc., but at least cook the grits properly. They are supposed to be creamy, not a bowl of hard grains and water. Are they hiring just any kind of folks to cook? I mean, they dont have to be chefs trained at a culinary school in France, but they should AT LEAST know how to cook a decent pot of grits and scramble some eggs. Geez. Their food actually used to be much better than this so I dont know what happened. Maybe new staff or new management. Will never visit this location again. Never.

I am shocked to see all of the good reviews regarding their customer service. The manager of this location has a very defensive demeanor towards the customers. Its actually a bit passive aggressive! I was there a few weeks ago with my niece when I saw a couple speaking with the manager about a complaint they had. The manager was so rude to them that I decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. Fast forward to this past Sat, I place an order for carryout. I waited for my food for over 20 mins. During this waiting period I asked one of the hostesses (who are ALL unprofessional) about my order. She went to the kitchen, came bk and told me that my order was just coming up. Then she proceeded to converse with her coworkers while I waited another 13 mins. A waiter walked up and asked if I had been helped because he noticed I had been standing there for a long time. He brought my food out and it was lukewarm. I Spoke with the manager and he gave me a blank look which expressed to me "What do you want me to do about it?". When I mentioned that he was acting as though he didnt care, he proceeded to talk to me like I was an enemy on the street. I got my money back and left the food. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER PENNY at the CRACKER BARREL!

It was horrible today, my son didnt like his pancakes and I also thought they were disgusting, we ordered him a burger n told waitress it was because pancakes were gross, She asked if he wanted fries we said no, they still brought plate with fries on it then guy gave me a dirty look when he had to take back fries off plate like I did something wrong. I didnt like my meal either which was strawberry stuffed french toast there are no actual strawberries stuffed inside just this sour tasting cream yuck. Waitress took my plate didnt ask why I didnt eat it or how our meal was. Then to top it off i had to pay for both of my sons meals the pancakes he hated and then the burger he ordered which was rang up as kids meal in which he didnt even get the fries or drink. The lady at check out was the only person to ask how things were and when I said awful, she said oh I havent heard that before. Then asked well did they offer to fix it and I said no the waitress didnt even seem to care we hated our food. She just said oh and shrugged lmfao I have never been treated like this before anywhere I have went and never had to pay for food we didnt like or eat at all!!! Will never go back again after today.

Let me tell you guys about the experience I had. My brother and I went into this place around 8pm and it was not that busy there at all. Our waiter took over 15mins after we were set down to even come over and ask us what we wanted to drink, and to make sure we werent forgotten again we had him take our order. The restaurant was very empty and there were only around 5 tables at the most being served. I ordered a burger and he got my order wrong so I didnt even get fries with it unless they dont give fries with their burgers which is just down right un-American. So anyways after a 20min wait for our food to come I finally get my just burger no fries and while the food was good, after I got done eating it takes the waiter 20 more minutes to give us our bill! I complained to the manager after seeing my bill is wrong and while he corrected my bill he didnt even explain how to pay for the food so we had to figure out for ourselves where to even PAY! So not only did we get slow service, we had to beg them to take our money too. So long story short I will never be back in life or death ever!.

ALWAYS terrific food! Pecan waffles are WORLDS best, served with scoop of butter and Cracker Barrell syrup (they even have sugar-free). goes great with their excellent coffee. ask for biscuits with meal if it does not already come with them, they do not usually charge.Their fried chicken, meatloaf, and chicken and dumplings are very good. there is also the browsing fun in their merch area, kids toys , clothes, home decor, CANDY (YAY!) BE PREPARED TO WAIT ON SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS! You can always play checkers while waiting. it is VERY LOUD on busy days, high open ceilings amplify sound. so if anyone is sound sensitive, go at a less busy time. prices are reasonable for quality and quantity.

I normally dont leave reviews but I was extremely disappointed with the meal today. I love Cracker Barrels and always visit when I can but I dont think I will go back. The biscuits were good but thats it. The carrots were cold, the beans were awful. I originally wanted the cornbread stuffing but was told it wasnt good today. I wish I had been warned about the beans. The fish was okay as I was hungry but not great. When I said the beans werent good I was told it depends on the chef. I wasnt the only one who wasnt satisfied as I heard others around me complain. Definitely not up to the usual standards. I would definitely skip this location. I gave it a 2 as the biscuits were good.

Overall my food was great after sending it back 3 times. I asked for my pancakes to be well done with my pecan on top and not cooked inside. Of course they did the complete opposite. Then I asked for my eggs over hard and when I cut into them it was runny. I then asked for sugar ham and I was given country ham which was really salty. The serve blamed everything on the cook when he was the one who took the order and brought it too me. I know cracker barrel food is normally delicious but maybe they were having a bad day. It seems like the waiter was upset because I was letting him know my food wasnt right. So he called the manager over who apologized and got my order corrected.
