You would not believe what happened when I called in to this place. My preferred local jewelry shop was not an authorized Rolex dealer, so they couldnt sell me the watch I wanted. They suggested looking in neighboring dealerships, and said if I bought one, they would be happy to service it for me. So, off I went in search of a retailer. Stephen Leigh Jewelers was one of the first in my search results, so I called them up asking about the dimensions and clasp of the Deepsea Sea Dweller. "Stephen" took my info and called me back, answered my questions, and ultimately offered me a used "like new" one for $8900 (not a bargain) and only after being pressed for an answer admitted that the original paperwork was missing, which makes it a complete ripoff. He then offered me a brand new one with all the papers and tags for $11,000 (also a pretty lousy deal.) Since you can buy a brand new one for $10,100, I was not impressed and was inclined to turn him down, but before I could even speak, he started talking on the sly that he had a "practically indistinguishable facsimile"--his exact words--of the watch I wanted that had been bought for "comparative purposes" Well, if that doesnt set off your BS detector, check your pulse. Stephen asked me if I would be interested in the fake Rolex. Can you believe this? A salesman in a supposedly reputable jewelry store just tried to sell me a counterfeit Rolex because I didnt jump at his trumped-up prices on the genuine ones. You have got to be kidding me. I simply said that I dont do business with people like that and he instantly hung up the phone, leaving me disgusted, to say the least. Not only do fake goods screw the manufacturer out of their intellectual property rights, they also screw the customers who have to make up for the lost income. I dont know what kind of pathetic lowlife would be caught dead wearing a fake Rolex in this day and age, but I am insulted at the implication. If the owners of this tinhorn operation have enough sense to check their own reviews, heres a little bedtime reading for them and anyone else who might be thinking about trying to unload a fake. Check out MGL Ch. 226, Section 147 if you dont believe me. Consensual or not, disclosed or not, selling counterfeit merchandise in MA will land you in jail. Any way you slice it, what we have here is people who are shady, dishonest, rude, and add "stupid" to the list because you have to be pretty damn stupid to risk getting locked up over the commission on one sale. This "Stephen Leigh" character is actually Steven Blumbergg, the owner of the business. After posting my first review, he sent me a snarky email sarcastically applauding my dedication to ethics and attention to detail. He tried to write the whole thing off as a miscommunication. I replied that I wasnt going for it, that he must think me a fool and his tone turned very hostile. He said I was too poor or too cheap to afford a real one and that I wanted it for next to nothing. He alleged that this forgery was so good it apparently fooled "the experts" and they took it in pawn for a $6000 loan. If you cant tell a real Rolex from a fake one, youre not an expert, and you might be legally blind. Just the fact that he tried to sell it, then cover it up afterwards, then resort to outright hostility when that didnt work, still leaves me incredulous. A man of integrity would have turned the counterfeit watch over to the authorities and filed a police report against the borrower. The bottom line is, people who engage in criminal activity cannot be trusted. Beware, this merchant has been caught melting gold during the mandatory 14-day waiting period, and has been known to create phony accounts to give himself 5-star reviews on sites like this one.

MY MOTHER MENTIONED SHE HAD TRADED SOME OF HER GOLD FOR CASH AT STEPHEN LEIGH JEWELERS, SO MY BOYFRIEND & I TOOK A VISIT TO THE STORE BECAUSE WE NEEDED SOME EXTRA CASH! WE TOOK A RIDE OVER AFTER WE BOTH GOT HOME FROM A LONG 8HOUR WORK DAY AND FROM THE MOMENT WE WALKED IN WE WERE LOOKED AT AS IF WE WERE DIRTY CRIMINALS. ( GRANTED WE HADNT SHOWERED AFTER OUR LONG 8HOUR DAYS AT WORK, BUT WE ARE NO CRIMINALS! ) WE ARE GREAT TAX PAYING CITIZENS! WE WERE HIGHLY OFFENDED! COME TO FIND OUT THEY WERE THE DIRTY CRIMINALS! YEARS EARLIER THEY WERE IN TROUBLE WITH POLICE FOR TAKING STOLEN GOODS AND MELTING THE GOLD! STEPHEN LEIGH YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO YOUR PROFESSION!

The one five star rating is clearly somebody that works there.. Plenty of better places to go around the area that will treat you with respect. I agree with all the other 1 stars.. Horrible customer service. Only people they do treat with respect are people they think they can take advantage of. Dont give this place the time of day.

Not a glitzy showroom and you are treated like family. My new diamond setting was custom designed with Stephen. He listened to my ideas, incorporated his and our price point to create a one of kind ring for our 40th anniversary. The compliments do not stop! We will be back!

I stopped by Stephen Leigh Jewelers to get a quote on my wedding rings. The woman was very short with me as though she was better than me. As a sales-person, youd think customer service would come naturally. Very belittling-Would NOT recommend.
