I brought in my watch about a month or two ago to their store when it was located in Wollaston Center to have the battery replaced. The battery is now not working. Dont I feel like a jerk. After writing the prior review, common sense prevailed. I mailed the watch into Matthews. Turns out the problem was not the battery but the watch. The jewelers reply follows. He went far beyond what was necessary. I cannot sing the praises of this business high enough. His response: I tested the 2025 battery; it is fully charged. Secondly, set the time, date, day, & second hand within 30 seconds of accuracy. Thirdly, a complimentary battery for your peace of mind; in its original packaging. Fourthly, a check for $15.95. Finally, if the problem continues where the "watch" does not keep time; I would recommend investing in a new Timex; the cost to replace the movement or the "engine" of the watch is not beneficial, unless its sentimental or your preference. A wonderful experience. Polite professional and ever so helpful ,I went in to have some of my Mothers jewelry appraised and a ring she had bought me sized. Steve was an excellent salesman and very patient with the questions I ask. My ring looks amazing and was polished and cleaned to perfection. Steve offered top dollar for the pieces I was interested in selling and was all around the nicest most helpful person I have ever met in my 25 year retail career.He alone is worth the trip to visit the store aside from their beautiful clean clear jewelry. I like to support local business and this was a unexpected pleasure. They will have a life long customer in me.

Matt is great! Hes easy going, kind, and relates really well with customers. I have a genuine experience each time, which is really nice. His prices are very fair and he does a great job. You just have to call first to be sure hell be there during the times on his signs. But no big deal. Ive gone from over-priced jewelers in the south shore towns with money, to small-town jewelers who I thought I could depend on who ended up going over estimates without telling me. Just like I have "my plumber," and "my electrician," I finally have "my jeweler"! What a relief!

I have been going to Matthews ever since it has opened. The prices are the best around. when my mother died and i got all of her gold i shopped around for the best price to sell it. Matthews was about a $150 more than the other places i went. I sold some broken bracelets, earrings and some rings that were damaged beyond repair. I have told all my friends and co-workers about it too, and they have all gone there to see there broken jewelry. The sales clerk was more than helpful and courteous and even replaced my watch battery for free.

I went to mathews jewelers today and talked to stephen and I just wanted to say this place is great oustanding customer service great merchandise and great prices I went there to just sell my silver bars and left with a very beautiful ring for my gf which was sold at a great price stephen deff knows what he is doing and is just the nicest guy this was my first time going here and you can bet it wont be my last unlike del grecos in weymouth stephen knows how to take care of his customers thanks for everything stephen

Equal Market Pricing/Cash for unwanted 12, 14 and 18K gold. Recommendations for your gold pieces other than selling that may be worth-while/investment. Way better than dealing with Downtown Crossing if youre from Quincy, Braintree or Milton. Matt is bringing the new age of fine jewelery demand to North Quincy - You will get the immediate sense of knowledge and personality that hes going to help you out. Be weary of those Downtown Crossing Guys....stick with Mathews Jewelers on Beale St in North Quincy,MA!!!!

Excellent establishment!!! Steve is the owner and you will get quality, honesty, and fairness. It is a rare gem in the industry. I have purchased diamond earnings and a necklace for my spouse. I have also cashed in my gold and silver coins as well as some discarded jewelry. I had been to multiple shops and Steve gave me the fairest price. If you are searching for a jeweler or a place to cash in some gold and silver, dont make the mistake of going anywhere other than Matthews Jewelers, ask for Steve!!!

I went in to get my watch battery replaced - while the battery was replaced easy enough, there was an issue getting the back of the watch back on, the man who helped me worked hard for about 15 mins to get it back on, after continuing to have trouble I left it with him and returned a day later with it fixed - at no cost! The care and politeness shown toward me and my needs as a customer were noted and I would return with any future business.

Ive always had really good luck working with Matthews Jewelers. Ive been there several times for different reasons and never had a single bad experience. Everyone who works there is really nice and knowledgable. Ive taken jewelry in to be appraised and they never pressured me to sell. I have sold some things there and they gave me a great price - better than what I was offered elsewhere. I will definitely go there again.

Today my husband and I went to Matthews to sell a coin that was handed down to me and some jewelry that was not used anymore and broken. We received excellent service from the owner. Went there to pawn a ring and he explained to me better ways to get more out of it for the value it was worth. He was very courteous and went out of his way to help. While waiting for him to take a closer look at my ring I browsed his jewelry selection and saw a lot of nice pieces for sale at great prices. Deffinatley will go there for my next jewelery purchase!

Went to Matthewss to sell a gold necklace and some silver coins. They gave me a great deal! Best deal in Quincy. While i was there i also got my watch battery replaced. I was in and out in 20 minutes with cash in hand , working watch on my wrist and a smile on my face. Fantastic service would recommend to anyone looking to buy or sell jewelry.
