Fans of the series by GK, our school mentioned that this was opening. Our first visit over a year ago was very nice, and we had a nice lunch upon which my child mentioned "the best grilled cheese ever!". We also purchased a birthday gift, which was wrapped and very well received by the birthday child. Our second visit, not so impressive...the almost $9 Panini was made on regular bread and flat and that was it...for that price, I figured that it would have been made with an artisan bread, or at the very least be accompanied by a pickle and/or chips. Chocolate milk had to be made (.50 extra) and it was very light on the chocolate. And while it was great for those who need it, there were no non-gluten free desserts to enjoy with a cup of tea/coffee. The service in the book store section was also unengaged completely ignoring my child when she wanted to ask a question, until a "manager-looking" staff member came by an overheard our conversation and stepped in to assist - she was great! and very patient. Overall, the store is wonderful and the atmosphere what you are looking for in a cafe/book store, but I wont be a repeat café goer, but will visit if I need a special book, especially a GK book, to give as a gift.

Cool store, good cafe. But I received some bad customer service tonight. My son and I were here to hang out, and unfortunately I didnt pay attention to the hours. We arrived only a few minutes before closing. I came prepared to buy a book or two, but the young lady who was working tonight seemed more interested in leaving for the day than in offering good customer service. I felt pressured to hurry up and leave. Yes, she has the right to have us leave at closing time. Thats expected. But she totally missed an opportunity to offer excellent service, and earn a loyal customer in the process. Not so sure Ill be too keen to bring my business here.

An innovative, kid-centered bookstore. This store sits in a renovated building that was once a local Plainville market. The interior has been redone in reclaimed wood and other recycled materials. It includes a cafe and an upstairs event space. My only complaints are that the kids reading nook is actually fairly small, and there seem to be no discount books. The selection is relatively pricey, though well curated, and a discount shelf would be a welcome addition. Overall, though, a shop worth spending a long, browsing hour in.

So grateful to have this jem of an independent bookstore near me. This place brings back the joys of a time when bookstores were run by more than just Barnes & Nobles. The chic atmosphere and excellent selection is on par with hip bookstores you would find in Boston! Also love that theyre always hosting events like open mics. Wish they would re-expand the Graphic Novel section though...

They have books here and nice people. Oh and they sell wine and beer and sandwiches. Coffee too. Some meeting space upstairs as well. Owner appears to be some kind of an author? Appears to be the only building in this town that is less than 70 years old so thats nice. Parking lot small so they bought land diagonal of them at the same intersection and created more. !

Excellent titles, wonderful gifts for kinds and adults, and an atmosphere thats full of adventure. Really! Look up and to the right when you walk into the store, its really cool. Ceiling decor aside, I wish they had more titles in paperback. The cafe is a nice place to relax and read or chat with friends. Limited options for food, but good for a snack.

Classy little bookstore. There are a lot of bookstores going out of business so its very refreshing to see this place doing well. They have a nice little cafe there and some kids reading hours on the second floor. They also have occasional visits from authors to read and sign. If you live nearby, its definitely worth a visit.

This is such a cute bookstore! I took my nephew here so he could get the next book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series; this place has tons of signed copies available. I was amazed at how beautiful the store was. I havent visited an independent bookstore in a long time, and this place was a revelation. It is well worth a visit!

I come here from Franklin to study occasionally, and they have the best espresso Ive had in this area. The cappuccinos are almost on par with Simons in Cambridge, which is my touchstone. Their sandwiches are very good, too, and its just an all-around charming independent bookstore/cafe that is meticulously appointed.

This is such a great bookstore. Its the perfect local shop. Nice selection of current books, places to sit and read, small gift items, and lots for the kids to look at. The menu has lots of options, with fresh delicious ingredients. Events upstairs are an added bonus. Thanks to Jeff Kinney for staying local!

Great atmosphere. Its book selection, as previously noted, is limited, but, while it is no Borders or Barnes and Noble, the books are varied and excellent. Hand-written staff book reviews are scattered about the shop, lending a personal insight to the often overwhelming choice of what to read next.

Quaint, offering tea , coffee, healthy options for sandwiches. Fun place to bring kids and browse. Lots of different items to buy from books to bookmarks, even baby socks!! Like the fact that the author of wimpy kid opened it because he is from plainville!!!he has autographed books available

This place is owned by the author who wrote the diary of a wimpy kid series. The design has a nice modern wood ambience with a bit of rustic flare due to some old styled furniture. However the coffee area is very modernized and serves perfectly brewed coffee.

The store is very cute and cozy with a fun and inviting atmosphere. While we didnt sample anything from the cafe it is a nice addition. The bookstore is a little small and the book selection is somewhat limited due to the overall size of the building.

It is amazing to have an independent bookstore nearby! This store has new releases and old favorites. There is a cafe. There are unique gifts available. Staff are friendly and helpful. They will do orders, too, for anything not in stock.

Choice titles ,each and every book catches your interest! Not to mention other items... For fun, creativity ,and practicality. Something for everyone of all ages. And whats better to enjoy a book with? A coffee or meal in their cafe.

Without hesitation or reservation I would recommend checking out An Unlikely Story! The friendliness of the staff and their knowledge of new-releases as well as all the classics make this independent bookstore second to none!

Probably one of my favorite small bookstores south of Boston, owned by Jeff Kinney, author of the Wimpy Kid series of books. Great place to sit and get some work done or just to hang out with friends and read.

Awesome bookstore and cafe. I finally got a copy of "ready player one" while I was here. Read it all in a day. Id definitely go back and spend more time drinking coffee and reading a book!

Need bagels and such..... got a hypster vibe at the coffee counter that reminds me of "the bean" in new bedford. Used to get the best asiogo bagel there before class. Just a suggestion.
