WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN? first off i was told you cannot reserve small animals to buy, but when i went in to buy a hamster, they didnt have any for sale and the ones in store were all reserved ALL OF THEM. No problem, i went to PetCo instead and got my little fur baby that i love very much. Recently about 3days ago Friday December 16th, 2016 i went in with a friend who was looking to buy a hamster. He looked at 4 (2 of which were a different species), the lady in charge of small animals (didnt catch a name otherwise i would state it) DID NOT know how to properly handle a hamster!!!! She was very rough and used the plastic igloo house to rummage around the tank, very unsafe because hamsters are not that big (at least the ones we were interested in (dwarfs)) and they can be hurt easily. She takes the first one out it tries to run away so she puts it back in the tank. The second one, she rummage and scoops out with the plastic igloos house and it was very skiddish you can tell it was not happy to be handled like that. It was squeezing at her not in a happy way it tried to jump out of the house multiple times it jumped out TWICE and SPLAT on the floor as she tries to catch it very roughly and she yelled at it just threw back into the tank. The third hamster we looked at was from one of the top tanks she had to stand on a step stool same process as before with handling and this one kept wanting to get away from her as well it leaped from her and also splat on the ground and you could hear it. i am not exaggerating because there was a mother and her daughter near by watching i awe. The poor guy fell to the ground from around 8 ft and his body was twisted and he laid on the tile with his eye closed for a minute and she scooped him back up put him in the tank as if nothing happened. DO NOT EVER COME TO THIS PETSMART FOR SMALL ANIMALS

Petsmart of Millbury ma is understaffed and the older large woman is rude and less than helpful. It seemed that my presence was a burden to her because she had to bag crickets and a couple of lizards and frogs. Thats her job, right? I actually had to start bagging my own crickets because it was the only way to get them over to me after several requests for service. When they say someones coming to help you, its quicker to just start doing it yourself. It seems like the only way to get enough attention to get them to do their job. There are good people working, just dont go on a Saturday morning. This is not my only bad experience there. It goes back 2 or 3 years. Unfortunately, petco is not much better...but it is better. I would have given 1 star but they get 2 for being clean.

Boyfriend went to get a ball python, after having years of experience handling various reptiles just like me. He went to go pick out the python he wanted and the staff kept telling him that the space he prepared for the snake was all wrong and that he had to do exactly what they said, basically. Despite him doing his thorough research coupled with years of reptilian experience. Kept on telling him that he needed experience to get the python he wanted and that he needed a vet (which we do, having various other animals in house), and he ended up being given a different python. He was told on the phone that in store snakes are all male, always. They only had females.

The store manager is useless The staff were able to give me the best service Ive been a shopper here for 3 years and unfortunately have to get cooperate involve due t the Store manager not letting me use a coupon they gave me for a product they dont have terrible ! experience

Staff is mediocre. Cant ever find anyone around to help me. Also everytime I try to buy a damn goldfish they make it so difficult for me despite having all the proper measurements. Its like theyll find any excuse not to sell me one.

I usually like having my pet groomed here,but today he went in for a full groom and came home with a flea on him! I am totally pissed off and most likely will be doing our own grooming in the cleanliness of our own home!

Apparently cats arent as important to them, since they refuse to trim cats claws on weekends. Obviously I wont be back. Probably for the best, judging by the other lovely reviews here.

Staff didnt acknowledge me. Place was pretty clean and had a decent selection. Definitely prefer the Shrewsbury Petco over this.
