I was looking for breakfast and stumbled across here. Im not of a bookstore-and-café-type person so at first I thought it was going to be another prestigious hipster joint but it was actually very nice. The two women behind the counter were very nice, helpful, friendly and professional. Anything with customer service like that gets high marks from nowadays. I got an almond croissant and a small hot chai and it came out to $7.23. the croissant was good but the chai want as sweet as I usually like (just personal preference and not a comment on their establishment). I would like to go back to try some of their other pastries and lunch.

This review puts me in a bit of a jam. Really a nice place. Clean, well lit and on a marquee corner downtown. Its a very nice addition to the area and I hope its a big success. That said - Holy smokes its an expensive cup of joe! Starbucks invented expensive coffee and I paid 50% more than I would there for a cup at Hypertext, and 50% more than I would at just about any proper coffee shop out there. North of $3 for a basic coffee that wasnt even hot.

Fresh made coffee Barista knows her stuff (good latte) - was explaining to another customer how Starbucks has coopted the Macchiato name for their own concoction Scones Open Sunday morning (yes!) Ample, tight, seating if tables and chairs

Cute little bookstore with a great variety of books and fun gift items, and tasty drinks and food in the café. One of our favorite places to hang out in the area.

Small, friendly bookstore with thoughful offerings and an excellent in-house coffee bar (not a chain). Go spend your $$ here and keep it local.
