My husband and I decided to go to Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro on Saturday. We go periodically, as my husband is a fisherman and hunter. It takes us close to an hour to get there. Until we got there, we had no idea they were having a "dog day". I have never heard of such a thing in a Non Pet Store. We went in anyway, since this was usually a fun trip for my husband and I didnt want to ruin it. There were dogs everywhere, not in a cordoned off area (which I assumed they would be). 2 minutes after walking in, I watched one dog pee on a rack of shirts that were for sale. The owner just kept on walking. I was appalled and went right to the customer service desk. He was somewhat snippy and defensive and said they had advertised the dog day and 7 out of 10 of their customers have dogs. Nothing about where was the pee and well make sure its taken care of. I saw several other areas in the store with pee on the floor and watched another dog pee on a pillar. Many of the dogs were very big. It may not have been as concerning if they had cordoned off an area and channeled the dogs into that area instead of giving them free reign of the store. I dont understand the current trend to have dogs in a public building ( other than service dogs of course). It seems like it would be a huge liability, as well as a health hazard. There were small children going up to strange dogs, dogs jumping on each other and barking. It was scary to me. We cut our visit short I will think long and hard before I ever visit this store again. I dont want to purchase clothes a dog has relieved himself on....

Today 01/20/2015 went to Bass Pro in Foxboro. I have been to that store several times and bought much merchandise, I find they have a large selection and merchandise is top quality. The physical store is amazing. BUT Today I went to purchase a gun, I had the money, proper ID and knew exactly what I wanted. Went to the gun counter, only customer there, there were 2 clerks and one other just talking. walked up and down length of counter several times found the gun I wanted in the rack. Still being ignored I went up to where they were and asked: Are you guys selling guns today or talking? The clerk Andy responded, I told him exactly what I wanted to buy. He replied we dont have any. I said you do there is one down there in the rack. He said show me. I replied What dont you think I know what Im talking about. He reply was "I dont have to sell you a gun" And something about me being a smart guy. At that point I realized dealing with Andy was going no where, I left and found the store manager and reported how I was treated by Andy. I then left the store never purchasing a single item. It has been many years since I have been treated in a store with such disrespect. I will not be going back to the Foxboro store any time soon. Found Dicks Sporting Goods has same gun at same price.....sorry Andy you blew that sale.

Staff at gun store seem to be at a lost. I decided to buy another fire arm at this store since Cabelas is around 40 miles away, where I bought my first pistol. I bought a rifle at this store, and funny enough - it took me like 6 times re-entering my data at their laptop and waiting hours apparently due to bad connections. Luckily, I got my rifle after 4 days - considering that I spent hours at the store. Second time I went, I decided to purchase a more reliable, better quality pistol since my first pistol got a broken firing pin (striker) - it sucks! I had to enter my data again at their laptop - same story, it took long time before they told me to wait for their call and I had to leave empty handed. Got a call after 5 days, so I went after office hours - did the same procedure all over again. Only to find out that I had to wait for their call "again" after 3 days whether cleared or not after long time waiting! Its total waste of time so I just decided to cancel my order and leave! I think Ill just buy online and pick up at an FFL store near me - not Bass Pro Shops. Cabelas has better gun store staff, as per experience - but its just far.

As a recreational hunter and fisherman like the store in general. Good selection on closing. Ammo selection not as good as Cabelas, and out of stock items not getting restocked as fast as you would hope, but its OK. Bad... Firearms sales people. The most ignorant, arrogant and rude group of people you will find in one place. And its based not on one visit or specific person but on several attempts in over a year. For a sales people that sale firearms at premium price you would expect a little bit more effort and attention. Most of the time they are too busy socializing with each other, and when you finally get to them - expect either to be blown off or follow in the direction where they point a finger - "go look over there". I still buy ammo, closing and accessorys off the shelf, but there is no way I would go and waste my time and money with over the counter people. Good... I have no issues with customer service, fishing department is good. People responsible for hunting closing are always helpful and polite. One of a kind store that pleasure to visit, in general...

A disabled friend and I arrived at the store at 5 am on black Friday. The Foxborogh store was very ,very crowded with shoppers. The parking lots were extremely congested. Mike (with his cane) and I worked our way to the firearms area. Not easy for two semi crippled guys over 60. Then we were told to get in line for the Winchester 22 LR caliber ammo on sale at $25.00 for 500 rounds. Then we heard that the ammo on-hand ( 100 boxes ) had already been sold out ! The flyer said 300 boxes were there. Rain checks were being offered. Mike is not very steady on his feet ,so after ten minutes in the line and not much progress, we decided to leave and not purchase any other items on our lists. I am hopeful that you understand and offer us each a rain check for the ammunition. Thank you Robert Trenholm
