Dear Star Market Today was your Re-Grand Opening. Congratulations. The store looks nicer.....just keeping it cleaner helps. I like the addition of wine and alcohol. Saves a trip into another town. It took the store several months to layout everything in new aisles. I am not convinced that it is one bit logical. In fact I dont get what the organizer was thinking. It just seems like all of the foods should be together. Its odd that the booze comes right next to the fresh produce. I feel like the store is trying to be a mini Whole Foods. The addition of perfumed soaps near the checkout lines is a bad move. The odor overpowers that side of the store and must be quite nauseating for cashiers. I found it a big turn off. Im looking in the dairy aisle and all I can smell is a combination of floral scents. Perhaps it should be near the flowers and not on that side of the store? Things I could not find today: quart size Orange juice - you only had 1/2 gallon and teeny tiny sizes fresh parsley and fresh cilantro that is NOT organic (I dont want to pay organic prices) Kens Seafood sauce - its the best sauce out there, why did you get rid of it. The clerks are always very friendly (except for two long time employees....you probably know who Im talking about). I just avoid their lines - HA! Anyway, hope this was not too harsh. Thank you.

I live pretty close to this Star Market but prefer to drive to a different one due to the rampant incompetence here. The cashiers are poorly trained, the store itself is always leaving expired sale tags out which confuse customers and slow the lines. The Star Market policy is that if something rings up incorrectly, its free. They do not adhere to this, even though its prominently displayed in multiple locations. I say all this as a previous Star Market employee. This location in particular is poorly managed, disorganized, and staffed by cashiers who just dont care about their jobs or take pride in their work. Do yourself a favor, drive to the Star Market on Mt Auburn St or just go to Stop and Shop.

It has been a year now since the management removed four self-checkout registers in response to the perception that people take advantage of these to shoplift. Another nearby Shaws has done the same, while two other retain their self-checkout registers. They have finally figured out the number of cashiers needed to keep things moving, so it is not as bad as it had been. I still find the idea that there is a significant shoplifting problem insulting, since I have never seen any evidence of it.

Its alright, the produce section is pretty weak I tend to feel and they have a few oddities that set it apart. They do sell alcohol which is fantastic just make sure you are over 25 if you have an out of state ID. They dont seem to carry anything in a large quantity meaning rice, peanut butter, etc. tends to max out in the medium sizes. The employees are solid though and its rarely too crowded

Unfortunately, I have to shop here everyday coz I dont have options. If stop n shop or market basket were to come here this store will be out of business. Dnt buy here if you have other options like stop n shop or market basket, you can go these places. Definitely not worth it price wise and customer service wise and most importantly less choices.

The products here are either pricey or bad, and in many cases both. Just bought a $6 watermelon and a bag of 3.99/lb cherry, neither is edible, had to throw away. The store is close to me, but never had good experience in it. Definitely would drive further to Trader Joes or Russo unless I am desperate.

Terrible store. Prices are very high, service is awful. There is no one around to ask questions god forbid you need help and when you do find someone they just arent trained well to be helpful. Manager should be fired! I wont even go here for the wine cause I think this store just sucks.

Agree with other comments. Its ok, but not great. I dont ENJOY shopping there, but it has most everything I need. You wont pull me away from other, further away grocery stores until the place is cleaner (ie. bathrooms), and the energy is livelier. Just not there yet.

Good store with quality produce and meats. They also carry a full selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Pretty high prices though compared to stop and shop. Oh and they dont carry frozen bagels, which IMO, is weird. However, their in store bagels are pretty good.

This place now has alcohol so dont go to a cashier who is super young, they cant sell it to you so the manager has to come over and check every ID. Pretty great selection and specials come often. The store is kept well stocked and pretty clean.

NEVER STEPPING FOOT IN HERE AGAIN. If you like rotting produce, absurd prices, rude staff and management, and then getting stuck in the parking lot because the entire town of Belmont uses it as a cut-through, then this is the store for you.

Of all supermarkets, the only time I go here is if Im desperate. Shaws is expensive for average quality fruit and produce. Market Basket in Burlington is worth the further drive as it is typically 25% cheaper.

Endless construction and disorganization. Starbucks in the middle of the checkout area is just a hangout spot for young cashiers. Always under staffed, and they prefer to shout rather than use PA/intercom.

I would like to thank Georgia for bagging my groceries today. She did not try to over stuff the bags, as so many other attendants do. I hate coming home to find my delicate items smashed. Thank you!

The management is doing great job updating the what used to be a very drab food store to a nice supermarket that I actually started to enjoy visiting. One of the best starmarkets in the area.

I believe this Star Market is still undergoing renovations, so things are always changing. The deli employees have been very helpful, and the selection around the store is generally good.

Like all Star Market locations, theres always something missing, but they have been improving this one. The Starbucks inside and the new Beer and Wine selection make it worth a stop.

Remodeling, moving everything around, yuck. But now it has a better Starbucks, pastry and cheese center. And alcohol! Friendly people and a bank office with good hours.

Great store. I mountainbike nearby and always stop by here to pick up a deli sub or other snacks and to get some water. Clean store with nice staff and good variety.

Some Grumpy staff at the registers disorganised right now, poor selections at hot bar unless you like chicken wings. Everything else seems overcooked and overheated

Excellent store with lots of variety and easy foot print. Renovations continue and I love what I see with the addition of a large wine and spirits dept.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are good for shopping - some meats are on good sale (buy one get one free). Very nice looking after recent renovation

Prices compared to other grocers are higher, quality of fresh food varies greatly, lots of hours, parking free, decent allergens selections.

Clean and well stocked. Produce tends to be a bit below average and doesnt stay fresh long. Often good specials for meat and chicken.
